NetComm
Performs poorly on WiFi 5, only 35mbps download possible even when standing next to it. Wifi 4 better at 60mbps, suitable for WiFi 6 devices and ethernet connections.

This router is a POS! – Exactly the same result as all the other 1, 2 star reviews, after 12-18mths you might as well disconnect it and throw it away!! Keeps dropping the… Read more
WiFi every couple of days and have all sorts of trouble trying to get it going again, even after rebooting it!! Ditch it quick, but better still, don't even go near it in the first place! Supplied by Electrician at retail cost.
Worked Ok in the end - But not user friendly – We have four Netcomm Powerline adapters in the house, which I thought would be a good idea to save running ethernet cables under the house and in the… Read more
walls to places where the wifi wasn't working. Two are the NP511 model and 2 are the earlier NP505. I bought the second pair for campatibility - keeping them all Netcomm.
They all worked Ok in the end, but for anyone thinking of buying them there are 2 warnings.
First is we found it impossible to get them to work unless both ends are plugged directly into the wall sockets. They don't work at all if plugged into a power board or extension lead. To be fair the set up pamphlet does warn this may be an issue but friends who are using a different brand (not Netcomm) of this type of adapter have no problem when they are used on a power board. Given the size of the adapter (blocking both plugs of a double socket) and given that many houses do not have more than one or two power sockets per room this restriction can be a problem.
Second is the pairing process doesn't work as set out in the setup pamphlet. Neither of the two products paired in the manner described in the pamphlet - the flashing LEDs etc worked in a different manner from what was described and we wasted a lot of time using trial and error to get one of the second set paired with the first.
Over all they worked in the end - but there are better brands available for the same price so wouldn't recommend the Netcomm one.
UPDATE:
Have reduced the rating to 2 stars because - after months of trying - we can't get these units to work continuously. Although we have followed the setup guide exactly, the units will stop working every day or two - the LED light at the right of the unit goes red, and the only way of resolving it is to turn off the power switch (or un-plug) and switch back on again. The unit will then work for another day or maybe two.
Aussie Broadband – I been with Aussie Broadband for 22 years now and I have my NetComm Wireless NF10WV for 7 years now what do ever no issue at all stll going st after 7 years

working properly. It is under a 24 month warranty BUT Aussie Broadband say that while they should send me a replacement, THEIR INTERNAL SYSTEM is actually preventing them from actually posting it to me. I have now been waiting almost three weeks with only 5 minutes of internet before it all cuts out. I then can't get back on the internet until I power-cycle the router. I then have to wait anything from ten minutes to an HOUR before I can have just FIVE MINUTES more internet use again. I then lose the internet AGAIN! Sometimes I have been without the internet for hours until, somehow, the router 'allows' me a further five minutes of internet use. It is INSANE how lame and inept Aussie Broadband have become. This delay is solely due to their 'hardware department' ignoring internal emails from the sales department. I have had cyclone Alfred ,which is guaranteed to cause absolute destruction as it crosses the coast near me- bearing down on me yet I have been unable to go online to see if I am at risk (I live on a boat). I have explained this to Aussie Broadband during the repeated phone calls to them but it makes no difference to them. Aussie Broadband have become even more useless than Telstra. And THAT is saying something!
Netcomm NF12
Perfect for Tier2 Network Device (with enabled user define security/firewall as tier2 defense) for Home Network – NetComm N300 NF12 (ready for NBN) is a good choice for Home Network Broadband Wifi Router for those who really understand the concepts of Networking… Read more
(e.g. Wireless Network, LAN/WAN, QoS, Internet and Security). I've set it up as Tier2 Network Device for my Home Network because my Telstra Smart Modem (Technicolor with Wifi) is a piece of cruft. ISP's and/or Broadband Provider's doesn't care the security of it's consumer that's why I've set-up my Telstra Smart Modem as purely Tier1 Modem (disabled Wifi Radio and all back-doors and enabled user define firewall as tier1 defense) and connect the NetComm N300 NF12 Broadband Router (with Wifi Radio enabled) as my Tier2 Network Device (with enabled user define security/firewall as tier2 defense) for my Home Network. Moreover, I have enabled the https and ssh to manage this Device from my internal Home Network, as well as the QoS and DDNS (with OpenDNS) to increase and optimize it's performance and security. Finally, I have a peace of mind now, I believe my Home Network will not be compromised again because my previous set-up (Tier1 with Telstra Smart Modem alone) has been compromised by the hackers from fortnite online games... :-)

wireless, one ethernet cable to router) plus desktop PC ethernet wired to modem and all tablets/phones wirelessly. This modem copes and have never experienced any buffering on Netflix or catch up TV. This inside a 120 M2 apartment with concrete internal walls between router in hallway and all rooms. When I speed test the NBN connection I am consistently getting 96 to 121 Mpbs even during peak evening times. I understand others may not experience such luxury speed with fibre to the node or still on ADSL but this modem copes very well.

my internet download speed was great but this product is meant to improve the signal of your current wireless network but instead it compromises your internet download speed and have factory rest it more than 10 times with right settings. If you want to save yourself a headache stay well away from netcomm they don't know how to make something that actually works and actually improve your current network and plus don't bother with their technical support as they are bloody useless. Go to another brand like tp link their products do a better job and they are more reliable than netcomm

Glen was very patient in talking me through the setting up of my new NetComm modem as I am not that tech savvy. The only thing I omitted to do was set up my VoIP house phone so I will contact him and get that set up
