So slowwwww – While it toasts fairly evenly and the toast comes up hot it is so slow that I have to check regularly to see if it's still working. I sometimes… Read more

wonder if the reason the toast is nice and crunchy is that it's gone stale in the toaster, and it has nothing to do with the heating elements, which hardly change colour as they heat up. I'm hoping it will die soon so I can buy something better and quicker.

overall good fryer – I found it a good fryer but I've found the only problem i have is that the basket doesn't sit flat due to the way the heating element is formed

Perfect for quick blends – It’s a good little blender for the price. I use it for smoothies and with small ice cubes and soft fruits it does the job but it would be hard… Read more

pressed to crush average size ice blocks or anything of substance. I do like the suction caps on the base, they’re strong but I’m able to get them to release easy enough, even with a dodgy shoulder. It’s very, very noisy which was a shock seeing the size of it, much noisier than the larger one my daughter uses. I only use it in small bursts as even after a few seconds you get a burning smell coming from the motor. I wouldn’t like to hold the button down for any longer, just in case! The biggest issue for me is the lid/lids.. not sure why they supply two because they’re both useless. Very hard to unlock the catch and you can’t drink from them as the lid only opens so far then hits you on the bridge of your nose. I wear glasses so I end up with liquid either all over my nose or on my glasses, either way it’s a no go from me. Even if you do pour from the lid, it drips everywhere and makes one big mess. It would be so much more of a selling point to provide two of the blades rather than two lids. I think I remember seeing something on the box or the store advertising that it’s built for people “on the go”. They should delete that part because unless you decant into a mug or glass it’s a lie. So for what I use it for and the way I use it, it’s a great little blender but you do get what you pay for.

I'm very happy with this air fryer. It also has 2 years warranty and Big W will refund your money anytime during the warranty period. Much easier dealing with Big W than an online seller. Show details

and never had what is written in the later models manual. The latest model Contempo blenders for $29 in Big W are inferior made in China appliances that don't last and can't handle everyday continuous use. Look at what the instructions manual says. Who can be bothered with timing out 30 seconds every time you use the blender then have to stop using it when you have a few things to chop up? The earlier model motors you didn't have to do that. The later model Contempo blenders just stop working for no reason. They are very poor quality. I don't recommend them. Not a fake review.

years and the best one. I don't use it for coffee beans but herbs, herbal medicines, small nuts and seeds (except sesame seeds and peanuts which are not recommended according to the instructions) and it works like a dream. It takes less than 30 seconds for each batch. I do not know what the result will be with coffee beans but it more than meets my requirements . I use it almost everyday and so far I am very pleased with the purchase.

another neg. feedback on another feedback/review-site, which said: Can't make it work. My wife also could not make it work, and I, too (I am an engineer, who can fix everything) could not really make it work: I noticed that this silly safety latch/switch in the base needs to be pressed in for the motor to work, but placing the glass jug onto the base does not press the latch down, thus I had to assume that something has already broken off, and we returned the blender to Big W. Sadly, the customer service desk did not have power points up there on their desk, but the woman had to crawl around on her knees to get to the power point, and in the process of that she smashed the glass jug. Only for them to find out that the problem is that not only the jug needs to be sitting on the base, but the lid also has to be on top of the jug - and not only that - the lid also need to be turned PROPERLY into locking position - and this in return activates a mechanism alongside the jug down to the base, where the latch/switch finally gets pressed down. That's what I call "Id*ot-proof": No id*ot will ever be able to operate this blender! ;) This "fool-proof-system" is so over the top, that one would expect detailed clear and obvious explanation of this in the manual - somewhere in the middle of the manual and in the small print it is explained - in a way, which can probably only be fathomed, after you know, what the problem was. The blender was quite cheap at AU$29.

This review is for the 25.7L oven-style Contempo air fryer sold by Big W, not the smaller basket models. This benchtop oven has many functions - air… Read more

fryer, bake, roast, grill - which make it a terrific device. But it's been made to a very low price point which means its strengths perhaps are outweighed by its frustrations.

The home cook will be frustrated that you simply can't tell if it is cooking or not. This is after a year of cooking with it -

- after finishing a cooking cycle, say ten minutes, it will beep and then go into a one-minute cool-down period. If you want to cook the item a couple of minutes longer, or cook something else, you set the controls and press Start. But the sound you hear - is it the sound of the cooking cycle starting? Or the one-minute cooldown? You can't tell. The Start button flashes but it is ambiguous.

I am doing fifteen things at once when I cook. I don't need an oven/air fryer which doesn't tell me clearly from the other side of the kitchen if it is cooking, or not.

I have to wait, and watch, and if the clock doesn't change after a minute or so, then I know it's not actually cooking, so I have to set the cooking instructions again or press Start properly.

All that would make this product rate 4 or even 5 stars is a diode which glows "on" whenever actual cooking is happening.

There are reviews on the Big W web site which discuss the air fryer oven exterior being very hot to the touch, which hints at not enough insulation or not enough care in assembly so interior metal is touching the outside and conducting heat. There are also complaints about control board failures early in use. I've also noticed the door seals could be improved to stop hot air escaping and therefore provide better control of the oven/air fryer temperature.

But assuming you have one of these that hasn't got manufacturing faults, in truth it's almost a punch-above-it's-weight device, especially if you want to cook just one thing, and you can avoid getting frustrated by not having a queue of things ready to go into it, whether food or simply wanting to warm your dinner plates.

The control panel takes several attempts to understand how to set the cooking type, temperature, and duration (all using the same dial button) and it beeps with each step, but that's OK. The Instruction Manual is clear.

The variety of functions is excellent and they all can be trusted.

We purchased this device as a benchtop replacement for our deceased inbuilt wall oven (and converted the cavity into a cupboard).

I wish it had a diode.

starts and gets to the boiling stage it boils over and leaves a watery mess on my kitchen counter and as soon as it turns off I go and get it to remove the rice and some of it has stuck to the bottom of the cooking bowl and the bowl is Teflon with no scratch's, the boiling over has been happening since day 1 and a recommendation to me was rinse the rice before cooking, which I did but it made no difference, It's not like I have overfilled the cooker but the rice sticking to the bowl has been happening the last few times only, and I can't see a reason for it to do any of this stuff. I would recommend spending more on a better quality.

inspection, if it goes in water you will get the element wet as it's now a screw on element unsealed instead of a molded into the base one. I knew not to get the temp control area wet on previous Electric frypans but this is really cheap. I guess for $32 if I get 6 months I'll be lucky. They also call it a wok because it's round but it's not really the correct base shape for stir-fry cooking but I really wanted a frypan so that suits me fine. I was wanting something smaller than the big banquet style Electric frypans. I guess all you can do to clean it is put water, detergent in the pan and turn it on.

Would not work as a wok as it doesn't get hot enough. Wok cooking is hot and fast.
