completed. The technician failed to disclose the true cost upfront. Instead, they wait until your door is open and then hit you with a complex structure of hidden "stacked" fees. My final bill included a $399 base fee, a $149 "Early hours fee", a $100 "Matter of urgency" fee, a 15% "Labor" fee ($97.20), and a 2% Credit Card Surcharge ($14.90).

If you have been scammed by them, you should know that their tactics are in direct breach of several Australian Consumer Law (ACL) statutes. You can use these to dispute the transactions, as advised by Consumer Affairs Victoria.

- Section 18 ACL (Misleading or deceptive conduct): They fail to disclose the true total cost or the existence of stacked fees before commencing work.

- Section 21 ACL (Unconscionable conduct): They exploit vulnerable consumers in emergency lockout situations, presenting a massive unquoted bill only after the service is completed, placing you under duress to pay to get the technician to leave your property.

- Section 36 ACL (Wrongly accepting payment): They materially alter the transaction by forcing payment for massive, undisclosed surcharges that were never agreed upon.

- Section 55B of the Competition and Consumer Act (Excessive payment surcharges): They apply a flat 2% credit card surcharge, which is well above the legal cost of acceptance for a standard Mastercard or Visa. Worse, they calculate the 10% GST on top of this illegal surcharge.

A final warning: Avoid them at all costs. If you have already paid, lodge a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria immediately and demand a full chargeback from your bank for unconscionable conduct.

late and no phone call because apparently they had written the number down incorrectly even though I repeated it, the guy who came did the job but he was as boring as batshit with no customer service skills and hard to understand and didn't explain things clearly, barely spoke two words unless I spoke to him first, didn't advise what he was doing or when he was doing it, disappeared for ages and I had no idea where he went only to discover he was in the van outside cutting keys, might have been nice if he had told me where he went, I chose this company based on all of the positive feedback but can't say I was happy with the service.

A call in advance to arrange a mutual meeting time that day and a quotation given and excepted. Job was done within 90 minutes. Ignition switch works better than original. Marion Locksmith had previously changed the front and rear door and screen locks of my residence to a common key. Made life so much more convenient. They custom manufacture and install their own products using high quality materials and are competitively priced. I was not in a hurry for these products and understand they are a small company that do quality work so you might have to wait a bit but they are well worth waiting for. they say one thing on the phone and then charge you something completely different when they come in. In our case, he damaged the lock when he opened the door and then charged me another $200 on top to fix it. He then tried to charge extra for GST even though the website is GST inclusive. I stood my ground and told him to jam his GST up his butt. When i contacted them about the damage to the lock they ignored me, even though on their website it says if they damage it then they fix it free of charge. Cost me $800.00 in total. Disgraceful

Tenants were having issues locking the house secure and when we informed them about the issue they were emailing us back and forth telling us it could be the battery or not locking it correctly or Installation issue and such.
