it has a 24 month replacement warranty and I was able to return & have it replaced with no fuss. This is why I'm giving it 3 stars because something like this should not fail so quickly. It's such a shame nothing's built to last anymore.

other uses such as egg frying, and is incredibly easy to clean as opposed to ribbed grill of previously owned models. Wipes clean in seconds rather than minutes cleaning each groove. Heats quickly and toasts to perfection... no soggy sandwiches with this purchase. Nice and compact, solid manufacture and cool touch handle. Can't fault this one.

realizing you have to closed the lid with a lot of force, you just need to pre-cut each sliced bread diagonally so that you have triangle shapes to fill your stuff. Hopefully then you should experience with little force when closing the lid knowing that the diagonal border of the sandwich maker is the real hassle thinking that this high hinge engineering solution should fix the thick sandwich problem - but that's only half the solution. That's where your brains have to solve this ridiculous problem simply by cutting them into triangles. I like sliced cheddar cheese with chopped onion sprinkled with beef stock powder to give the toasted sandwiches that beefy cheesy taste while having boiled eggs separately. It's a 4-piece sandwich maker even though 4 sandwiches seems a lot but the water moisture in the bread is greatly reduced when heated and for me, I don't feel I am over-eating the meal. warranty says only 12 months (conveniently). It's disappointing because this wasn't the cheapest option available so we assumed it would last longer than just over one year.

I will never buy another Sunbeam product. Low quality, minimal longevity, it seems like it was designed to break after a year.

as a toastie maker should. The outside of the bread does not toast and the filling inside gets hot and ends up making the whole thing soggy as the bread it still soft. As additional annoyance, every time I have used it, the toasties have a strange metallic taste. I tried to return it but had no luck as it is used. All in all, this is a piece of crap and I should have stuck to my old Sunbeam that I had for over five years.

Bad Design of Handle and Top Plate – As others have said, these units are bad by design. The floppy handle and hinge results in the top plate never sitting level. I returned mine and bought a Breville BGR250BSS instead.

towel. Rubbed more and there was less. Then I thought to look up Eazyclean, the coating that is placed on the hot plates. Is it Teflon? Is it toxic? Difficult to get any info but good to know because I won’t be using it until I’m sure it’s safe to use.

UPDATE took it back and got a replacement as only 2 weeks old Briscoes gave me another one IT IS BETTER but still takes 8-10mins buts thats OK at least the new one does brown a bit better especially the top now is better so happier now ..i agree with others no bread is big enough to seal the sandwiches the bays are too big and it could still do with getting a bit hotter !!
