over the years, I decided to stay with Smeg, although I did look at Neff and some other brands but the Smeg was a standout.

Loving the steam function, keeps roast soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The meat thermometer is a game changer, no more guessing if it’s cooked to perfection or overdone. I make pizza dough on a regular basis, and having a proving function is fantastic.

Used the self cleaning function, game changer as it’s so easy, you just wipe the ash out at the end of the cycle.

I was worried about it being so clever, but the self cook functions are great if you’ve got kids, or a hubby who can’t cook. They choose what they want, hot chips, pizza etc and the oven does the rest, no keeping an eye on it as it’s all timed.

Got the air fryer trays last week, they were a free add on, looking forward to trying it out as I’d love to get rid of the air fryer we have, small house and not enough room, so the oven having this ability is a bonus.

Finally repaired in December and tried to do a pyro clean today for the first time since it was repaired. What a surprise another Err9. The customer service has been as poor quality as the product. All SMEG customer service advised was "unfortunate that you have experienced this with your Smeg appliance as this is not indicative of what you can expect from our brand."

biscuits/cheese straws/etc. for 7 minutes. I have won prizes for baking, but have not had a single success with this oven. Cheese straws, pizza soggy. Milk tart never set in middle. Front and left burn while other parts not cooked. Cakes with uneven rise. I bought counter top oven to use instead, and no longer bake (and store it in SMEG oven when not in use!)

is it to operate a simple oven? We turned it on and a foul smell soon spread throughout the house! One of our family became so ill she had to leave the house. After reading the instructions it turns out you are supposed to run it on high for an hour before using it before using it to cook! What sort of manufacturer makes you do this without a warning sticker on it rather that burying it in some some instruction book? It might be a nice oven but it wasnt a good Christmas!

oven was replaced after just one week due to a faulty door closing sensor and badly performing touch screen. The second oven performed just as badly.The touch screen freezes meaning I have to turn the entire mains power off just to get the oven to turn off. The oven won't accept the door is closed so won't heat up. What a rubbish product.

error when trying to use the pyrolytic function. It was reported to SMEG and they sent a contractor to look at it. After several visits and replacing various parts, it still showed the error. Six months later, I complained that nothing had been resolved and SMEG replaced the oven. I have not been brave enough to try the pyrolytic function since.

Oven #2 stopped working in February 2024 with an error that the reservoir needed emptying when there was no water in the reservoir. It was reported to SMEG and a different contractor came out. He left and said he would order parts. Four months later I am still waiting and have sent approximately 10 emails to SMEG regarding this. The oven does not work at all.

Every time I contact SMEG, I have to go through the full explanation all over again, and produce proof of purchase all over again.

UPDATE: The part we had been waiting 4 months for turned out to be faulty as well. In September 2024 another part was tested and then installed, and the oven has worked well since.

Vapour clean is a joke. Despite several attempts, it is a filthy mess. So disappointed.
