I have been buying chicken weight control for large/giant dogs dry kibble for years. It was bought for the large size kibble which is good for dog dental care. I have noticed recently, over last 12 months, the kibble size has become smaller. Why have they reduced the size of the kibble?

I have used Advance Puppy dry for more than 12 years now large and small breed type to both adult and pups. I leave a bowl full all day to eat when ever they want to eat, I do this from the time they are weaned and dont have over eating or gutsing, with healthy dogs as a result and no need for adding other food. If your concern for teeth cleaning, bones can help do that.

What has that got to do with the reduced size of kibble? I was asking why they have chosen to reduce the size and if anyone else had noticed the change? Thx

Ive been feeding my 11 year old Lab X Advance dog biscuits since he was a puppy - first Advance Puppy and then Advance Large Breed Chicken. All had been fine until the size of the biscuit changed recently. He gets an upset tummy and loose poos more often. Has there been a change in the ingredients? He is on a strict eating plan and no other changes have been made. Can you advise if this has happened? And if so what are the changes?

Sorry. I can't comment. My dog started to get really sick and ended up at the vet. I have changed to royal canine brand and really good since then. They are specially formulated for his breed.

If you go to review sites, they mention the use in Advance of white rice, corn and corn gluten, and talk about the concerns around high glycaemic index, joint swelling, etc. Whether the dog likes it is not entirely the measure of it being good. I really like donuts, but . . . So, irrespective of how the corn is processed, are the negative effects of it always the outcome for a dog that eats this kind of food?

I don't think anyone is saying "because the dog likes it I will continue feeding it to him even if it's going to harm him" Presume that maybe we are unaware that there are ingredients that could lead to problems because it's a premium dog food. The dog liking it is just an added bonus. I will now look into the ingredients, compare it to other premium brands and make an informed decision on weather to change his food, you on the other hand can continue eating your donuts.
