why is the new replacement filter cartridge so much slower to filter the water than the last one

I found a flow drop owing to my tap spout which has accumulated dirt and mainly calcium deposits. After replacing with new aquaport cartridges, the increased in better pressure could have agitated the deposits in the tap head to cause a jam, so that less water flowed out. After cleaning away all deposits, the water flow was stronger then before the new 3-stage M cartridges.

I have an M series filter that has failed/developed a leak at the head housing. It's about 4 yo. Can this head unit be replaced on its own?

I am going through the same issue. Bunnings are chasing a quote via Breville who have bought the Aquaport franchise. I found the Breville service site really difficult to navigate.

Breville Aquaport gave me newer cartridge holders that do not leak - free of charge - within my 10 year warranty.

My kitchen tap delivers 10 litres/min now. If I fit a single stage M Series (AQP-FKM1) filter - what flow rate can I expect ?

I have an under sink single cartridge system (without a pressure regulating valve) which worked well enough (the safety lockout was not fully depressed by the cartridge with no or low flow as a result. A small piece of matchstick inserted into the cartridge then depressed the lockout far enough to maintain flow). When I replaced the filter the new cartridge would not seal. I tried oversized O ring and then retrofitted a pressure regulating valve but it still leaks from the housing. Is there a batch of faulty cartridges?

I had a two stage system which I have long since replaced, in my opinion the design of the unit itself has a flaw leading to all these pressure issues. The new unit I bought is similar, no need for pressure regulator and I have now had it for 3 years and not once had it locked out or leaked.

What is the brand of your new system?

The system is making a continuous noise when water flowing Seems like air in the system. The water seems a little cloudy as well. How can this problem be fixed? Thanks

If this is the first time you are running the system this is normal. This will happen with any filter system. The cloudiness is caused by small air particles.

Hey there... We have an Aquaport M Series Water filter and was wondering.. Does it remove the chemical Sodium Fluoride from the water??

Hi Glenn, To my understanding these types of filters will not remove fluoride completely, depending how many stages you have in your system, ( I purchased a 2 stage) one of the cartridges is a carbon filter which will absorb some of it only. The only way I believe to remove fluoride completely is by distillation. Some reverse osmosis filters also claim to be able to rid fluoride but you will have to do further research.

I no longer use the aquaport system due to the issues I experienced with my unit, I could just be unlucky with the faulty unit.

Simon
