Aquasana AQ-4000 Questions & Answers
VerifiedFilters of aq4000 were well overdue and water started leaking out of ports on top of the unit. Replaced filters. Works fine for a while but then does the same thing until I pull off hoses and remove one of the filters to reset it. What is the problem with this system ? Also put one of the filters in the wrong way this time and marked the part with the two o rings on it. I don’t think this should be the problem though as it was doing the same thing before I changed the filters. This is the second system and this one would be at least 10 years old. Was a water for life member in the past and rejoined prior to purchasing the last set of filters.
After further investigation of removing the case I discovered the internal filter housing was cracked. Probably a lesson to keep up regular filter changes. The filters were in service for around 14 months. Suggested to replace every 6 months. The seller suggested it was ok to leave longer than 6 months if the water still tasted ok agreeing with my wife.
Hi Mark, yes we only advised to replace every 6-9 months max and no longer. Depending on your household numbers and obviously how much water you use and the water quality in your area also. We suggest if there are 2 people using the system it would be ok to leave up to 9 months. But what happens if you leave them longer than you should the filters swell and wont work properly causing the housing to swell and crack. Can you please contact us at support@vitality4life.com so we can get you back to drinking the best water again. Warmest Regards V4L
