Hi y'all I have a sym mio 50cc and there are no headlight switch on the scooter. Does the lights automatically come on? Or what should I do? We have looked up and down and tried to find a manual but nothing. Just bought it yesterday.
It comes on with the engine. If it’s not working it’s probably the bulb that needs replacing

Help, my 2011 sym mio 50cc oil light won't turn off? I've changed the oil and replaced with new oil and the oil light is still on? Any idea's... Thanks Jordan
It is actually to remind you to service it. There is a slot near the key that you can push the key into and it resets it.
Thank you,

i have a sym mio 50cc and i was riding along and it just died, any suggestions? it has no spark as we tested that,do you think its the coil?
Does it have enough fuel? Also have you used high octane fuel? I found that E10 and standard octane fuel can hurt the engine
I’m not sure what the fuel is,I live on an island, all I know is that it’s unleaded
Do you know if they have any other fuses apart from the one that is near the battery ?
I have a 2009 SYM mio 50. The starter will not engage, the lights and horn do not work and the battery is fully charged. Have looked for a main fuse but have not found one. Any suggestions?
If you type into YouTube 2009 MIO 50cc you will find your answer. If not specific type China 50 cc motor scooter because all the 50cc are mostly made in china so the engines are all the same they are GY6 engines and transmissions so all the parts are the same just all the model names are different. There are lots of spares or parts for these on eBay every part is very cheap. These little scooters are so basic a 10 year old could fix them so type in your question ie: problem 50cc. You tube have videos for every fix you need. For $30 approx you can put in an upgrade kit take it from 50 to 80 cc (eBay) then get full follow along instructions on YouTube. Great way to learn easy build confidence just wonderful. Have fun.
How many pins in the ignition barrel L
I have replace the battery on my scooter. And there is no power at all when I turn the key. Any help?
Firstly, is the battery fully charged? 2nd, have you connected the terminals the right way round, i.e. red wire to the +, black wire to the - ? Third, there should be a direct electrical link between the ignition switch and the battery, you turn the key, the ignition comes on. If not, it's possible the main fuse between the battery and the switch has blown. Find that fuse and replace it. Often, fuses look OK even when they are blown. Fuses are cheap enough, so replace them anyway. Make sure the fuse holders are clean also, and not loose. Rarely, it can be a duff ignition switch, and occasionally a loose wire or terminal between the battery and the ignition switch.
I hope this helps. Regards Kevin Savage
Sym scooter wont crank over by start button but will kick start. Any ideas?
You probably need a new battery
Providing the battery is fully charged, the starter motor is faulty or the power isn't getting to it to enable it to spin. Check your battery is charged fist, then get a multi meter .and check there is 12 volts of current reaching the terminals on the starter motor. If there is, or if there's a clicking but no movement when you press the start button, the starter motor is faulty. Here in the UK, I can have the starter motor repaired at motor electrical shop for a third of the price of a new starter motor. Might be worth checking out in your area. Most starter motors come off with the removal of just 2 bolts. I just changed the starter motor on my BMW R1100RT in about 10 minutes flat. Check for a forum online for your bike, tons of help there and often tips and free service manuals to down;load. I hope this helps.
Sym red devil 50cc 2 stroke starts fine but when I rev the motor, it stalls out. It starts straight away but even on the stand without any load the motor dies when I rev it. Good spark and plug and new fuel filter. Please help! Thank you.
Was the spark plug burning well, i.e. light brown ? If it's sooty, black, wet, it's a carburetor fault. 2 stroke spark plugs fail much quicker than 4 stroke ones. Is the gap correct ? Might need replacing. How clean is the air filter ? Also, have you touched the carburetor jets at all? The pilot air screw should be around one and a half turns out. Find a freebie manual on line and take a look. Sometimes a carburetor can be blocked or dirty on the inside. Sometimes the float bowl sticks some, and fuel can't get through. Try putting some Redex ( carburetor cleaner ) into the petrol. Check the fuel tank. a blockage, sometimes water, maybe dirt, can block the petrol cap breather hole. a way to check this is to remove the petrol cap while the bike is on its stand, fire the bike up and if it revs freely, that was the problem. Just check too, that the spark plug cap is tight to the HT lead and also the spark plug. Hope this helps.
I found similar issue. I used the most expensive fuel for a few tanks and it sorted it. Seemed like dirt in engine
my sym 50cc scooter is really loud now it sounded like something came unpluged from the exsaulste how do i find the exsaulste plug?
Hi, How old is the bike ? Exhausts wear out. The newer the bike, the less chance that's the problem. First, look for a loose connection. Often, the exhaust manifold can work loose and make a Hell of a racket. The manifold is the exhaust pipe that exits the engine. Usually there's something like 2, 10mm bolts holding it tight to the barrel. They can work lose or even fall out, causing the bike to sound really loud. Look for cracks or holes in the silencer, the end of the exhaust system. Sometimes the complete exhaust system is in 2 pieces, bolted together. This can come loose too. If that's the case, re-bolt the parts back together. If you check all this, and nothing is apparent, just occasionally, the baffles within the silencer can break up. Not much you can do to repair that, and it's a case for shopping round for a replacement. I hope this helps.
How much is the 50cc worth second hand in good condition ??
My scooter has a flat battery so the electric start doesn't work, the kick starts work so i can still use the scooter. does the battery charge when you run the scooter? like car battery's do?
