Bosch Series 8 WAW28420AU Questions & Answers

I have Bosch series 8 WAW28420AU.I am very happy with a machine.My problem is outside on the right side white panel has rust.What can I do?I bought Bing Lee 01 June 2020 and I bought 2+3 WAS200ON extended warranty.OUTSIDE ON THE RIGHT SIDE RUSTING and I know I do not have warranty from Bosch. Can You help me with this rust proble?What is a solution?

Which setting do I use to wash a doona, no settings for this on the dial, 9kg machine. Thanks

Two questions: 1) Does Model WAW28420AU have a prewash cycle? The detergent dispenser has a slot for putting detergent for prewash but there is no selection prewash botton on the fromt display panel. 2) How long does the Cotton cycle run for? When selected it says 1 hour??? Shouldn't it be longer than 1 hour? (SpeedPerfect has NOT been selected)

Does any know if I can run a fullload (9 kg) cotton cycle with the speed perfect cycle at same time? The washer is Bosch serie 8.

How do I change from Quick 15 minute cycle to 30 minute cycle

I have been using this Bosch Series 8 9kg front loader for almost 14 months now, usually using Mix+SpeedPerfect+Extra Rinse cycles for a 5-6kg load. Am generally very happy with the performance of the machine, but over time I have noticed small holes appearing in cotton knit garments (t-shirts and underwear), towels, hand towels, face cloths and terry towel tea towels. Has anyone else had a similar problem? My husband has suggested it could be because there is not enough water in the machine. Lyn, Sydney NSW

this is for washing machine WAW28420AU does it adjust the water level according to the size of the load?

I am looking for a matching set. As to identical doors. Some are shiny silver, some are black trimmed, some are dull silver. Do the models WAW28420 and WAW28440 in washing machines and /Dryer model WTW 87564 AU match each other for door colours and control knobs. What is the difference between the model WAW28420 and the WAW 28440 models please.

Hi, Bought my first ever front loader after owning 4 top loaders over 45 years. I was excited to buy this highly rated machine that saved water/energy whilst delivering a "perfect wash". The machine sadly, has ruined all my once fluffy soft towels by washing/rinsing in less water. Softener doesn't help, less powder doesn't help. I believe that Bosch, over their many years of experience in technology, development and testing, should have created a towels cycle that would involve using more water for a better result. It's not like front loaders are new on the scene. Have households had to endure scratchy towels eversince? Bosch has given us other cycles and features e.g. jeans, wool, delicates/silk which won't get used anywhere near as often as a towels program would . Geez do you really need a specific program for jeans?, and handwashing your wool and delicates/silk has always given the best result. Or.... why not Bosch create a Gentle program that can be done in 15/30 minutes. Perhaps Bosch are "working on" adding a Towels program to a new upgraded version. For me that means buying another machine, which I won't. I have to spend time here and on YouTube/internet searching for ideas to do my washing, grrr! At the very least I've given them MY idea ( I'm sure we all share) on a Towels program that ensures clean, soft, fluffy towels. After all that, to the community using BoschWAW28420, what do you do to get soft fluffy towels?

Does this model have prewash?

It appears to wash detergent in both compartments, main wash and prewash, into the drum almost one after the other.

I thought possibly if the 3 hour odd cycle on cottons was run, ie. you do not press Speed Perfect (the 1 hour wash on cottons), then it should work?

If it does not have Prewash, please specify the way WAW28420AU owners can attempt to create a prewash?

maybe run a rinse spin program with detergent? which goes for 19min then set it to the Cottons program.

I love this washing machine and would like to buy a matching dryer. Can I use one of the Bosch stacking systems on this washing machine? Thanks

Great machine but does anyone know if I can program any of the settings to start on cold wash instead of having to choose it every time?

This is my first ever front loader and I am very happy with the results except for the towels - they come out feeling rough and crispy. Which cycles are recommended to maintain soft towels? Ive been doing my own trial and error: best outcome so far is the Easy Care setting, 60 degrees, easy iron, rinse plus, 600 spin and half the recommended detergent with half a cup of vinegar in the rinse - towels still a bit rough but better than previous washes. I'm interested in what other people do to achieve soft fluffy towels in a front loader, and what does Bosch recommend? Thanks - Jen

Does this model have a filter or is it built in. Also does the detergent dispenser just do one load or can i put in enough for several. Can it be powdered detergent

Hello, i have just bought a WAW28420au series 8, 9kg washer. Is this model meant to advise the weight of the clothes I have put in the machine. Or does it just tell me the max weight I can go to

I am confused about the detergent drawer. Is the amount of liquid for just one wash? And does that go in the little section? Can I use Napisan for blood stain removal and if so where do I put it?

Hi. We have had our Bosch Serie 8 WAW28420AU for a few months now and the conditioner drawer has never worked. We don't use a concentrated conditioner. The liquid remains in the drawer and no water flows through.. To try and work out the problem we took the drawer out and put conditioner in the dispenser. We then poured water into the drawer until the level increased when it then started to siphon out the conditioner. It emptied the full contents of the drawer. As soon as we put the drawer back into the machine then run a wash cycle the conditioner does not siphon out. It remained at same level as when it started. For some reason water is not getting into the drawer when in situ. Any suggests to fix or should we contact Bosch? Thanks
