When I pause the machine mid cycle, it stops but the door will not open to add items to the wash. There used to be a click noise when it was safe to open the door, but this does not happen at the moment.

Can I interrupt a spin cycle to protect clothes?

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Tom, Thankyou for your question regarding your Bosch washing machine. You can interrupt a spin cycle by hitting the pause button on your machine which will stop the cycle. When the water level is below the door it will allow for the door to unlock. Alternatively, you can protect your delicates by placing them in a laundry bag. Regards, Bosch Home Australia

How do I rinse/spin on a a serie 8

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Kate, Thankyou for your question regarding your Bosch washing machine. . The Rinse Plus ' button is set by default for this program. If you require a spin cycle only, press the button to deactivate the function. If you require more guidance regarding this please refer to page 31 of your manual. Alternatively, If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.  Regards, Bosch Home Australia

Your response above doesn't really answer Kate's question (and mine as well). I cannot see from the manual how I can just have a rinse/ spin. ie. If I hand wash something and just want to rinse and spin it what setting do you recommend I use ?

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances   DM

Hi Deborah, Thankyou for your question. To set to a normal rinse/spin cycle please turn your dial to 6 programs to the right. For further clarification please see page 31 of your manual. Alternatively please feel free to call us on 1300 369 744 . Regards, Bosch Home Australia

This reply makes no sense. Turning 6 programs to the right puts me on the Delicates setting, and further clarification on page 31 of my manual is "Faults and what to do about them". These response sound like a badly written answer from ChatGPT

Hey Debra I have worked it out. Select Rinae/spin on the dial, then press Rinse Plus on the right. It is not an actual button, just press the words Rinse Plus. This will reduce the time down to 10 minutes which is crap because that is a waste of electricity. It will go through the rinse cycle without the water and then spin. I have a series 8, German made. I hope this helps because their robot answers sure don't. Cheers Colleen

ok, so the answer I've worked out is: turn the dial 6 programs to the left to the Rinse/Spin program then click off the Rinse Plus button that is above the display panel..... and select the spin level you want.

FFS Bosch, just answer the damn question! The model number is at the top of this page. This page is specific to one particular model number. Stop making your customers jump through hoops & have to wait until business hours to contact you then end up waiting on hold until someone deign's to answer the call. It is also a frequently asked question on this site, so an answer would be good.

Does this model include "prewash" in the "Cottons" programme? The manual does not specify. Also, my towels dry very stiff and harsh, even though I use liquid detergent plus fabric softener. Any suggestions please. Thanks in advance, Ana.

Alas my only answer is don't ever buy a Bosch, as with all Bosch it works until it doesn't and then there's no customer service, or the cost is so prohibitive it is more cost effective to purchase a new machine, however, the environmental cost of throwing away a 5 year old appliance is huge. Being a German company Bosch should be manufacturing white good which perform for at least 20 years. As for the 'prewash' in the 'cottons' programme you can add one, and put which ever soaker you want in the compartment. Not sure why your towels are drying stiff and harsh, you could try emailing Bosch, you may be lucky and get a response, I haven't.

I shake my towels before hanging them on the line, it softens the pile and makes it dry softer, I also put in the dryer for a bit which helps.

We have purchased a new series 8 washer and have repeated E18 errors. Have had unit for 1 day and completed drum clean and tested via short cycles. Checked hose for kinks and all clear. Will be heading down to retail store to request a new unit replacement. Not impressed

Not associated with Bosch at all beyond being a user - I’m pretty sure Bosch washing machines only have the cold inlet these days though.

Hi Natasha,  Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch Washing Machine. Yes.
