Bosch Series 8 WAW28460AU Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: WAW28460AUCan I place dryer WQG24201AU on top of this machine, and if so, which stacking kit should I use?
Not spinning faster in few programme. Only super quick 15 works normal.
Why does my front loading washing machine syphon water back into my machine, from the laundry trough, at the end of a wash cycle? When I open the door water gushes onto the laundry floor. This never happened with my old Asko machine. What can I do to stop this happening?
Bunny, Melbourne I purchased a Bosch front load WAW28460AU washing machine on 1/11/2023. On 3 occasions I have opened the door at the end of a cycle & water has poured out onto the laundry floor. In one instance the cycle had been finished & clothes had removed for 5 hours. I collect the grey water discharge in the laundry trough for recycling & think the water is being syphoned back into the machine. I did this for 17 years with my Asco front loader without a problem. Has anyone else had this problem. Hopefully there is there a solution?
I have just purchased a waw28460. I asked the sales person if it washed in both directions and they said yes. It only seems to wash anti clockwise and leaves things a bit wet. Does it wash in both directions and can it do a spin only? Thanks
is there a way to do a spin only cycle
Please tell me why the timer is not accurate? Machine says 1 minute when on final spin and it always takes about 5 ….. infuriating!
Hi, my WAW28620AU has been great, but now it appears it is not taking detergent from the iDOS, but it is taking the softener. It always has an E:00 at the end of every wash cycle, and I cant seem to find what this message means anywhere, please help!
I do alot of hand washing with delicate fabrics and jumpers etc. How do I spin only without rinsing. I dont want that
I select a 15 min quick wash. It said it only had 9 minutes left, then two minutes later it says 25 minutes? I’m so confused. Is something wrong with it
Is it possible to create a customized wash cycle? We have come from another brand that allowed us to set a ‘Favourite’ cycle where we had adjusted the wash time, spin speed etc O cannot seem to find anything similar on the Bosch?
I don’t believe so - but it does have enough settings to get where you want (once you’ve figured it out)! It doesn’t let you save your favourite either - the default is always the same.
I’m not sure what’s the problem but my Bosch series 8 washer over vibrates when it spins…to the extend of actually moving where it is …it doesn’t matter the load of the washing(have tried different amounts of washing)z
Sounds like it needs adjustment under the foot of the machine at front. You should find a round plastic part that will allow you to adjust so that you can maintain stability. Failing this you can try using a flat small piece of cork or wood to balance the machine so that when it spins it will not slide. Hope this helps?
How do you remover the handle on the dispenser draw to clean it
I’m following the directions but I can’t remove the dispenser handle . What am I doing wrong?
Pull the drawer out three quarters of the way, push the blue round part in the centre of the drawer and then it will pull out completely

Hi, 4 year old unit. Had the power circuit trip, now the machine won't start. When you go to start the load the open door light will flash. Thought door lock had failed, have replaced it. Still have same problem. Any ideas what it could be? Is there a reset for this unit?
Water is pooling at the bottom of the seal. The machine is brand new. Is there a fix to the problem? It is a Bosch series 8 WAW28460AU.
Hi Chris If you can, return the machine for a full refund and buy a different washing machine, not Bosch. If you can’t return or are keen on years of problems with an expensive machine contact service through your supplier, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, wherever you bought the machine. Bosch service is notoriously slow and very hit and miss, some service providers are great, others break different parts of the machine while fixing the original problem. My best advice is buy something else if you can. Cheers Gen
HI. One month old machine. The 15 minute cycle takes 30 mins, and also the item is very wet. Then I use the spin cycle (11 Mins) but that takes 25 mins. Any advice? PS Im only washing either 1 jumper or 1 pants on the quick cycle.
There is a button you push to change from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. If it says it does a 15 minute wash it does! You will need to push a button to get it into the 15 minute mode. Check the manual or contact bosch. I have sold them in a retail store for over 15 years.
I would not suggest you use the 15 minute wash however unless you really need too. My 30 years in that industry has shown me that you should try to minimise quick washes and try to keep the temperature between 40 -60 Celsius if possible. A good all round temperature is 40 Celsius but there is a lot of science in the temperature curve and why front loaders start in cold and heat up.
Way beyond the the room i have here for that discussion!
Also don’t expect your clothes to be properly spun on a quick cycle. That process takes time and you just can’t incorporate performance into that little time frame. If your machine starts to smell or gets mouldy in the rubber seal it’s because the water is to cold.
I used to tell my customers to run a 90 Celsius program occasionally without any garments inside to maintain a sanitary condition inside the machine.
P.S Nothing with regards to cleaning clothes or dishes in cold water has ever worked properly. Have you ever tried washing greasy pots and pans in cold water? So why would you try to wash your clothes in cold water in 15 minutes?
Hope this helps!
M Thompson
Thanks. Funny enough my previous Bosch worked perfectly fine on the 15 min wash. I only use it occasionally to wash a new jumper or a pair of pants that need a freshen up. I always wash on 40 degrees for full loads. I’m not a fan of a cold wash. Thank you. I will contact bosch to discuss the issue though, just because as I said, my previous Bosch coped well.
What can I do when the drain pipe hose doesn’t fit the water tap? ( The tap and the hose connector seem to be different sizes)
