Bosch Serie 8 WAS24460AU Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: WAS24460AUHow do I remove the Panel Base (kicker) on a Bosch WAS24460au? My pump cap is stuck and I need to access the hose. I have removed the screw next to the pump cap and unclipped the plastic tab above the drain hose, which frees up the RHS of the kicker, however the rest of the kicker still appears to be attached.
Try google or contct bosch.
I had already tried Google, that is how I got as far as I did...and how I found this forum.
Sorted it out, it just needed some force,
Our washing machine was stopping through the cycle, then starting again after a while, and also the finishing time was always being extended in the middle of a cycle. Today, midway to a cycle it stopped and didn't turn back anymore. We have tried different plugs, disconnecting it for a while, but nothing shows in the board. It is completely dead. Any suggestions? It was always showing the foam sign in the board before it died

Got a brand new bosh Washing machine used it twice and now it won’t work
Our door won’t open on our washing machine (model #WAS24460AU). It also often takes longer to finish a cycle than the original time shown on display. Are there ways to fix these issues or is it time for a new machine? It’s about 7years old
Hi Hayley, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU. There would be ways to ix those issues but without a service call we would not be able to advise what it might cost and comparing that to the cost of a new appliance would probably determine your course of action. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
In what country was it made? Obviously not Germany.
Hi Audrey, Thanks for the question regarding the Bosch WAS24460AU. All of our appliances are made to strict Bosch standards no matter which country they are made in. This particular model is made in a Bosch factory in China. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
thank you. This was a historical question. My washing machine , WAS24460AU, has worked for almost 7 years before a service was required. THIS IS PRETTY GOOD. As the replacement of 2 parts was to be very expensive I am replacing it now with another new Bosch machine. I have only just learnt that most are now made in China.
Hi our machine has been working fine. Today the power company advised that our electricity supply would be disrupted for six hours. After the power was turned back on my wife loaded the machine and started a wash cycle. The machine started, loaded with water and then lost all power. The power supply is plugged in and the fuse on the switchboard is OK. Is there a fuse in the machine I can check/ Kevin
Hi KRB, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU. If there is no power to the appliance and another power point has been attempted all we can recommend is a service call. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Hi, Our Bosch WAS24460AU stopped mid-cycle with all our clothes now locked in the machine. There is no power to the unit. I tried different power sockets and leaving power disconnected for 20 minutes but it has made no difference. Any suggestions?
Hi Tom, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU. You have done all we could suggest for the power issues with the appliance and a service would be recommended. In relation to the clothes in the appliance, on the front of the appliance in the bottom right corner there will be a service door. Inside there is an emergency release tab to open the door. If you use a tool to pull and release the tab you should be able to open the door to remove the clothes. If there is any excess water, it will come out so please be prepared. If you need any more help or want to arrange the service, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Our machine makes a thudding noise with x1 large item in ie a big towel or an overall, the drum seems to move sideways? Is an adjustment needed, or special program used?
The machine is unbalanced. It is programmed to adjust the load distribution in the drum before spinning fast. I think this works best if there are Several items of a similar size or weight in the wash load.
Hi
My Bosch washing machine no longer spins. I replace the motor brushes which were worn almost right down but the motor still won’t turn.
My electrical tests indicate an open circuit on one of the brush lines to the power connector plug on the motor. The circuit diagram suggests a fuse internal to the motor has open-circuited.
Is this fuse replaceable please?
Thanks
Cheers
Peter

With this "door" icon off the machine won't start. We have to pain stakingly spin the selector switch back and forth until this icon comes on then we can push start. This is a real pain. Any suggestions as to the problem?
my Bosch WAS24460AU washing machine stopped working mid cycle. all lights off.
any suggestions? Alberto
Contact them directly (via social media works fastest) to see if they can send someone to assess and fix under warranty. I think they call it a motherboard fault but I'm no expert
either a motherboard has blown , or a water leak somewhere forced the cycle to stop
My Bosch WAS24460AU Washing Machine stopped working in the middle of a wash cycle. All power gone, nothing showing on the panel. I checked the main electric panel board, all ok. It blew the circuit breaker and when I plugged the machine into another source the panel light came on but nothing else works. Is it the mother board?? Appreciate your help.

Contact Bosch Australia via their Facebook page. They are very responsive. I have since had a new washing machine installed at no cost. They resolved my issue quickly and I'm very happy.
Dear Jojo you google the manufacturers Australian website then you contact to find the phone number of their authorised repairer if it is Bosch then you are in trouble if its out of warranty they don't care

G`day folks. I have a Bosch model WAS24460AU/05 washing M/c. It won`t power up any more. There is power to the power point where it is plugged into but nothing at all lights up on the display panel. does it have a fuse or a relay maybe inside or would it be a PCB problem? Thanks, Neil.
Get a Boschspproved repair technician to investigate Mine was the back powerboard Same symptoms as you Machine was 5 years old and it need replacing 500 + GST I emailed Bosch so helpful and supportive Bosch paid for part We paid technician fee Bosch were superb Hope this helps
Hello Neil, I believe the drill is that you get a serviceman to look at it who will resolve that the 'board' is dead. They will contact BOSCH who will quote a new board at approximately $600 plus installation costs, no guarantees and I decided a new machine would be a better investment.
Rang The Good Guys, 8 minutes on hold then cut off, rang again 3 minutes on hold then hung up. Rang our local BuyRight had a new machine within an hour, Beko made in Turkey, quick programme, pet hair removal button, valuable with two cats and a dog.
Sadly we purchase items such as Bosch only to be disappointed with the result.
Good luck Neil,
Kim
Thanks Suzie & Kim for your comments. We rung Bosch who will not come to the party so far. I will be pursuing this further because it obviously is a problem with these machines judging by all the comments on this sight. Also, if you replace the power control board with a new one that is the same ( with presumably the same obvious fault) You will probably be lumbered with the same problem down the track a ways. I`m thinking also that a new machine is the way to go, but certainly not a Bosch. cheers, Neil.
Hi We have the same problem, the machine stopped near the end of the cycle with no display. Now waiting on the service people to make contact and investigate the problem. I contacted Bosch to book a service call and voiced my displeasure at the premature failure as the machine is just out of warranty and they advised to lodge a customer complaint for reimbursement assessment. After reading here I am not feeling very confident that Bosch will come to the party. Big decision repair and run the risk of Bosch refusing to reimburse or dump Bosch and buy another brand. I will wait and see how much they quote for the repair then decide. Grrrrrrrrr.
Reg, it cost me $99 to have our`s checked which confirmed what I already new. The power control board had a defect. with nothing to lose I removed the PCB & checked it out myself. Found a blown 0.70c wire wound resistor. Also gave it to an electronic techie friend of mine who also found a blown triac switch which cost`s about $5. As soon as the parts arrive, we will solder them in & hopefully it will fire up. Bosch want $500+ for a new programmed board. My tech friend reckoned the wholle board un-programmed would be made in Taiwan for about $15 to $20. Not happy about this rip off. Will let you know how I go.
Hi i have a Bosch WAS24460AU and up until now i have been very happy with the machine, there is a a couple of small tears in the seal and i am trying to get a replacement, I called to get a quote and was told it would cost close to $400 for a repairman to call in and replace it. If i add a couple of hundred more i could buy a new machine. Can you steer to to where i can get a replacement and i can change it myself?
Regards
Irene
Look at this on eBay external link Check your part number with model number with the seller before purchasing. YouTube for the removal and installation. There may be cheaper sellers. Before you attempt this you need to make sure that you are proficient or know someone who is. You will need to know electrical safety and have tools and mechanical adeptness.
Hi Mate. sorry for late reply but currently in bKK returning from holiday. I just googled tyhe model number and eventually found the spare parts catalogue. Then ordered parts on Ebay. I searched youtube until I got enough info to do it myself. No Proble, Hope this helps :-)
My Bosch WAS24460/AU/07 hasn't had any problem up until now - almost 4 years. It is making weird noise, as if the drum is hitting the sides. The noise is more prominent when washing bed sheets.
What could be the issue ?
Regards,
Hubindra
