Hi, can the solution be diluted in water and be used as a sanitizing/ pillow spray?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi, yes absolutely! That's a great idea. Just use the dilution ratio on the bottle for a cleaning spray. Kind Regards, Bosisto's Team.

Hi, yes you can as far as we're aware. But use the 100% pure not the 'Solution'. Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

You are advising that your products containing ethanol should not be used in vaporisers as ethanol is not good for health if breathed in. However your dust mite spray contains ethanol and as it is used domestically in bedrooms it will definitely be breathed in during spraying and while sleeping in a room where it has been used. What are the health risks of using your Dust Mite Spray?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Edward We're sorry for the delay in answering. The problem with ethanol is actually potential flammability. An answer was given in error regarding the inhalation of ethanol, which has now been edited. While we do not advise use of the Eucalyptus Solution around heat sources such as oil burners and vaporisers due to the flammability, ethanol is not harmful in our Dust Mite Spray when used as directed. This is a common ingredient in many aerosols used in the home including surface disinfectants and sanitisers. The Bosisto's Team.

I'm sorry no, we can't send internationally. We'd suggest trying Chemist Warehouse who sell our oil and may do international shipping. Kind Regards, Bosisto's team.

I bought antibacterial eucalyptus & lemon myrtle solution “water soluble “ and put to my diffuser is there side effects? 1 used it for 2 days

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Analisa Sorry it's taken so long to reply to you. There shouldn't be any problems with using the Solution for a couple of days in your diffuser - as long as you haven't noticed any symptoms there's no need to worry. But from here on, please use a 100% pure oil or oil blend as Solution formulas are not suitable for diffusion. Kindest Regards, The Bosisto's Team.

After reading these reviews and replies, I now understand the difference between using the solution and the oil in a diffuser. But why must they look so alike? Us parents have kids that prides themselves in ripping as much as they can off a shelf in a short period.. we don't have the time to read and think about which one we're going to buy - is it possible to put it clearly on the front label that is is or is not suitable for a diffuser? Also - child proof lids - today I picked up the solution accidentally from my local pharmacy, and whe waiting for to speak to some one, my son had opened the lid. Luckily I caught him before he tipped it all over himself, or put it in his mouth! - child safe lids would make a lot of families feel a lot more at ease. Thank you

Bosisto's   DM

Hi Sarah Thankyou very much for this valuable feedback. It will be passed on to the Marketing team and we'll look at how we can better communicate usage do's and don'ts for this product. In terms of child safe cap requirements, our products do follow TGA requirements which means childsafe caps are mandatory for 100% pure oil products and not required for Solutions. This has to do with risk and toxicity, therapeutic category listing and where the product is on shelf amongst other things. As required, we do put warnings to keep out of reach of children on all of our essential oil products. Thanks once again, we really appreciate your thoughts and will take it on board. Bosisto's Team.

Can you use dilute eucalyptus solution with water and use it in a steam mop?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Peter We get this question about steam mops quite frequently, but honestly we haven't tested our formula in steam mops so we really can't say! We think it's best if you contact the mop manufacturer just to check a eucalyptus solution is okay to use. Anecdotally we've heard a lot of people do so and it seems fine, but please follow manufacturer's guidelines. Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

My partner and I have been using my diffuser for a few months now, mostly sticking to just the eucalyptus oil, and once buying a water solution lavender and it’s been perfect Yesterday, we purchased the water solution eucalyptus as the oil was just getting expensive We woke up at 3 am this morning struggling to breathe properly, coughing and blocked nose, the diffuser was steaming (different to how it usually works) After a few hours we figured out it was the diffuser after going downstairs and we were fine

I guess my question is, why would the water solution be doing that when you put the oil in water anyway? We’ve now turned it all off and aired out the room

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Emmilie This product is not meant for use in diffusers. That's why the only uses listed on the back are for cleaning and household purposes. This is a "Solution" of 20% eucalyptus oil in a water soluble solution - the solubiliser being ethanol, a natural sugar alcohol which is unsuitable to be used around sources of heat. Please do not use Solution products in your diffuser - only 100% pure oils or oil blends. You can use this product for mopping, laundry, cleaning, as directed on the pack. Always read the label and use only as directed. Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

Hi there - I am very confused about the difference between your Eucalyptus oil and solution. I typically use your oil for freshening dirty laundry, removing stickiness from objects, or as an added boost to floor cleaning. I love the oil but it's quite expensive, and the solution is a fraction of the price. What does the water soluble aspect mean in terms of performance for the solution? Does it perform better than the oil in the above instances? Thanks for your help.

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Gabrielle The difference is that our Bosisto's Eucalyptus Oil is 100% pure oil, the Eucalyptus Solution is 20% pure eucalyptus oil in a water soluble base including natural solubilisers which help disperse the oils in water. This makes it a lot cheaper (because there's less pure oil) and because you can use it more freely and it mixes in with water really well some people prefer it for tasks like mopping floors, adding to laundry etc. Our pure Eucalyptus oil can still be used around the home, but it's also suitable for therapeutic uses like coughs and colds, muscle aches, topical first aid etc. You can also add the 100% pure oil to an aromatherapy diffuser, whereas you can't with the Eucalyptus Solution. Basically, the Solution is a lighter-style, 'household cleaning' version of Eucalyptus Oil. Hope this helps! Bosisto's Team.

I have been recommended to use your eucalyptus water soluble solution in my laundry washing, however, I am concerned about the ethanol in it. What are the health and safety issues with this?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Sharon There are no health or safety issues with ethanol use in laundry or even personal care as far as we are aware. Inhaling it is not recommended so we don't recommend the use of this formula in diffusers, but for topical contact there are no issues we are aware of. The ethanol is there in only a small percentage to provide solubility. Hope this helps! Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

Hi so i would just like to clarify that using the pure 100% Eucalyptus oil (not water-soluble solution) is okay to use in a diffuser? Will it work like any other essential oil?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Caitlin Yes you can use our 100% pure eucalyptus oil in a diffuser - but not the water soluble one here. You need to look out for the red bottle in the medicinal aisle: external link  This product is TGA listed (AUST L) and accredited 100% pure. We tend to advertise it for higher volume uses like cleaning, but it's suitable for diffusion just like any other aromatherapy oil.

Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

Age

Hello, just wondering if this can be used in a steam vaporiser? I have the Euky bear one. Thanks

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Age No, we wouldn't recommend that since the Solution contains ethanol (alcohol) for solubility, it's not really suitable for extended periods of inhalation. You can use our 100% pure oil, about 60 drops is equivalent to the inhalant, but honestly an inhalant is your best bet. If you can't find Euky Bear, you can also use Vicks VapoSteam (we are all the same parent company - Bosisto's, Euky Bear & Vicks :) ) Kind Regards, Bosisto's

How much ethanol is in the solution

Kelly M.

Hi there, could you please clarify: is the water soluble eucalyptus solution antibacterial? I know the oil and the eucalyptus aerosol room spray both kill germs but neither of these are readily available on the shelves of supermarkets in Perth at the moment but I was able to find the eucalyptus water soluble solution on the shelf today and I can't find any information on the website that it's antibacterial, kills germs or if so, to what percentage of efficacy. I'm a healthcare provider still currently practicing face to face (at 6ft distance) and my rooms are sanitized at regular intervals however I'd feel more comfortable to continue to provide this service longer (given the need), but would feel better about about it between intervals I could do my own surface wipe downs with the only product I've been able to locate until now: this soluble solution. Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing what details you can provide about the product.

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Kelly We have done the testing to show that it kills 99.9 % germs but we have not tested as a surface disinfectant is a hospital/clinical setting.

As a non-therapeutic product, we don’t claim any higher level statements. Kind Regards, Bosisto's

Kelly M.
Kelly M.

That's great news! Does that apply to the product formula when used undiluted in research trials or would the same be true once diluted?

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Kelly It applies when used as directed on the label, which would be diluted. If you use it undiluted it would be even stronger. I have heard of people using this undiluted on doorknobs and just leaving it on to dry. But do understand we have no research on impact on viruses. Hope this helps! Kind Regards, Bosisto's

Hi just wondering why your lavender calming solution should not be used in a diffuser? Thanks

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

It's because it's not 100% pure. It contains ethanol to solubilise the oil in water, which isn't recommended for aromatherapy. This formula is really more for cleaning and health care :) Kind Regards, Bosisto's.

Is the alcohol level in this high enough to use as a hand sanitizer? Bek

What is the ethanol level

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Emily Our Solutions are antibacterial, but do not meet the requirements for being a 'sanitiser' (like hand sanitisers). This is largely due to contact time. They will certainly kill most common germs if applied to surfaces - neat is better than diluted - but do not kill viruses. Unfortunately we cannot give out specifics on the formula but hope this information helps. Kind Regards, Bosisto's

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Grainne Our Solutions are antibacterial, but do not meet the requirements for being a 'sanitiser' (like hand sanitisers). This is largely due to contact time (they don't work fast enough). They will certainly kill most common germs if applied to surfaces - neat is better than diluted - but do not kill viruses. Unfortunately we cannot give out specifics on the formula but hope this information helps. Kind Regards, Bosisto's

Would like to know if I could use the commercial eucalyptus oil in a humidifier as I have way to many in the house and a 4L bottle would be perfect size for what I use it for.

if there is any plastic in the humidifier that is NO.

Bosisto's
Bosisto's   DM

Hi Nicolas, Unfortunately we don't recommend using the commercial eucalyptus oil in a humidifier as it is not a therapeutic grade and therefore not recommended for personal use.
