Hi Folks, lots of positives, I concur. What are the technical differences between the ESP6 and ESP8C please? regards Simon

have not used the esp 8c .upgraded to the ,BES 920! WOW! 10X what the ESP 6 cost, and worth every cent. Also have a duo temp for the guest house, not fast but works well! About 2X the cost of our first machine the ESP6 if breville still made the ESP6 would have bought another no hesitation.

Is it normal to have to empty the tray every 3 coffees?

Breville

If you are not only brewing espresso but also frothing milk then it would be entirely possible that the drip tray would need to be emptied that often.

I have an ESP6 and cannot get it working No water comes thru either steamer or dripper It jakes makes a thump thump thump noise.

I have a Sunbeam at home and know how to use it. Can anyone help?

My Cafe Roma has recently developed an intermittent problem when frothing milk - sometimes it will start with pumping lots of water out of the steam wand, making the same pumping noise as when extracting coffee, and after a while will turn the pump off and generate steam properly. (Yes I wait for the heating light to go out before turning the knob.)

Has anyone had this problem and had it repaired? I expect a problem with the control computer and expensive to repair?

you may already do this, I always vent the steam wand before use, and after use vent into the cup of hot water obtained from flushing the group head. I also turn steam off whilst the wand is in the water. this seems to draw water up into the wand pipe, which when vented is often milky.

I never cleaned my machine, what is the descaler & do I just run it through the tank.?

My machine is working fine only the coffee tastes a bit bitter at the moment.

The descalerwill remove builtup calcium deposits. Smooth flow through might be the reason for the bitter taste. Beans are getting 'burnt' maybe.

Clean by putting a commercial cleaning tab dissovled in the water container. And operate as per normal , but with no coffee in the basket, Then wash out the water tank, refill with clean water. run your machine as per normal, but with no coffee, to ensure the cleaner is out of the system,

I always used a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. Mix in a jar and fill your water tank with the mix. It can be very fizzy so put a towell under your machine when you reinsert the water tank. And operate as per normal , but with no coffee in the basket, repeat process, then. wash out the water tank, refill with clean water, and And operate as per normal , but with no coffee in the basket this will remove any remaining vinegar/soda in the system. , Also try a lighter roast.

I have cleaned my coffee machine yet to try it out. I had my machine given to me with out instructions so just been using it as not that to operate - but now after reading reviews I have another question.

When I use the froffer water/ coffee still comes out I have to put a cup under the coffee basket, and it also

When I have enough coffee in my cup After turning turning the dile back to center position.

And I read a question about the steamer mostly been water - I find the same thing with mine

How can I get parts for my machine - water is leaking/spurting out from above/around the pod. I have found this black cowling is cracked and guess that is the problem - can I get parts???

I would ring Breville's Customer Service Centre to see if you can purchase a replacement part: external link

The black housings crack but good news is they are easy to replace (2 Philip head screws). You should be able to get or order the part at any Breville dealer or agent.

I got ours in coburg and it cost about $8.00 from memory

Thanks to sodgers, I contacted Breville Customer Service Centre - very obliging and cheap as to replace part which was delivered today. Now to put it back together and get it working again! Thanks all for your help.

All back together, but it is still leaking ;-( I saw somewhere a picture of the housing, but can't find it any more. Wondering if I have the upper seal on the wrong way, that's why I need the picture as there is nothing in the manual.

I have been told to use vinegar to clean the inside working part of my cafe roma coffee machine. I would like to know how much vinegar to water and exactly what you have to do to clean it?

Thanks.

Barbaraaa
Barbaraaa

I never used vinegar but I'm sure it'd be fine. I'd use 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. I always used the descaler from supermarket.

Why does my machine only make one small cup of coffee before the coffe gets very weak? I've tried all different types of coffee wth the same result. Am I using it wrong?

Barbaraaa
Barbaraaa

Hi Brent, all machines give a small expression shot, probably 40 mls. I always like to let some of the weak liquid come through as I like a longer drink but you have to be careful not to burn the coffee in doing so. Hope this helps.
