I have just brought a Isuzu MUX with Dueler H/T 684 II 255/60 R18 108S tyres and want to know what the tyre pressures should be for towing a van?

I have Bridgestone dueller 684 iI H/T Tyres Factory fitted on my new Ford Everest 4WD and i want to drive the 30 kms of perhaps steep slippery red dirtBloomfield track in the Daintree. I don’t really want to buy a whole new set of a/t tyres just for this 30 kms as I won’t 4wd again - the car is just for towing boats on bitumen. After 8000 kms so the tyres have been great at 35 psi on highway travel and also towing 2.5 t boat with great steering and good grip. So how best should I set the tyres up for 4 passengers but lightly loaded on steep slippery red soil and how will they grip? Ian

They are a road tyre. Weak sidewalls , and tread clogs easily on wet clayish surfaces. I got 36k km out of my new set 99% highway miles. Take a chance, you only live once.

I have terrible traction in the wet with these tyres. What pressure should they be? Because they are very dangerous. My Isuzu MUX has only done 5000kms.

What are the recommended normal/maximum pressures on the Door Pillar Sticker? There is also more information on the tyre side-wall, in the fine print. You are probably over inflated. What is the load?

Just two passengers right now.

I ran 36psi, and then 38/40psi when towing. They were on a Colorado 7. Only had traction problems on grass & gravel, and usually only when backing to a caravan site on a slope.

Difference between 684 and 684II?

I don't know. I should have asked Bridgestone when I spoke to them last week. Try their call centre in South Australia.

My Prado came out with dueler H/T684 tyres. Only 10000 on the clock. Want to visit Namib and will drive on 4000 km dirt road. Will the tyres make it?

Hi as a retired mechanic I have run & recommended Bridgestone Tyers for many years but when a 10 mm stone penetrates a brand new 4 wheel drive tyre & Bridgestone flatly refuses to do anything I am afraid they have lost all my confidence

So if it was me driving 4000 Klm on dirt road I would not be using anything Bridgestone sold
