I have Brivis wombat 20 installed at my home. I never had any issue with the heating system but three days ago the system itself tripped the circuit breaker and stopped functioning. I did reset the circuit breaker but it would keep tripping. Can some one suggest what is causing this issue? Thanks Raza

Hello. I have a Brivis duct heating NC-6 controller. Recently the power failed to our home and I needed to reset the clock. I did this but now the digital readout is not moving forward, i.e. Stuck on the time I set it to. It shows the time with the flashing dots on but remains the same digits. This makes it difficult for the on/off program to work. It's a few months out of warranty. I called Brivis service who were very helpful, they guided me through the reset procedure but to no avail. Any ideas??? Everything else is working beautifully.

Our Brivis ducted heating model B20 external has a cracked heat exchanger .It has been decommissioned. We were wondering if we could have just the heat exchanger replace ? Instead of the whole unit . ? Which would be a major cost .

Hi Guys, Have a Brivis compact classic ducted gas heater in our property in Melbourne (we live in Sydney) and some time ago it stopped working and the controller display stated "earth fault", nothing is operational. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Basic checks that power is going to the internal unit ok. Have tried resetting the power but no good

We have a one month old nc6 brivis ice ref cooling/heater in our home. Used 3 times the cooling was working well today then air stopped coming out of the vents. Controller showed fan and snowman not flashing. Outside unit appears to be working. Nothing comes out of vents now on cooling, heating or just fan. Is there anything we can do to rectify as we have a 92 year old in the house. Have tried turning power off and on

We have a Brivis ducted heating system from 2018/2019 in our new house. The system does not have zoning capability. Is it possible to add zoning to our current system? If so, who would I contact regarding this?

Brivis
Brivis   DM

Hi Andrew M, Thanks for the question. As Rinnai is the manufacture of the Brivis unit only, you would need to contact your installer or an authorised dealer to discuss if this an option available to be added to your overall system. Thanks Rinnai Australia

Pete

As mentioned above, a Brivis installer would be your best bet. Might depend on the size of your unit as they would most likely add controllable flapper valves in Y junction to direct heat in certain areas. Some units are not suitable for this as you cannot blank off too many outlets. Peter

I have a Brivis Classic Wombat 20 which was installed in the roof of our house in 2013. A technician has told me that the main board is faulty and that he also found the heat exchanger has numerous cracks. He says it's better to replace the entire unit, but with a Braemar. I'm ok with replacing it but not with a Braemar. Is it common for the heat exchangers to crack on the Wombat 20 models? Your help and advice is appreciated. Charlie.

Brivis
Brivis   DM

Hi Charlie, Thanks for the question. It is recommended ducted heating units are serviced every two years to not only maintain performance, reliability and longevity but safety. Rinnai can not determine why these fail however, 9 years isn't uncommon. We would recommend contacting our Rinnai 1st care team on 1300 555 545 as the heat exchanger may be still under the 10 year parts only warranty and may be able to be replaced. You will need to provide them with the serial number to determine this. We would also suggest getting another quote on replacement. You can use our store locator link below if you would like to get another Brivis model. external link

I had a Brivis evaporative air conditioner installed several years ago. For the first few years there were no problems but then two years ago it was noticed that it was dumping an enormous amount of water so had it serviced and checked near the end of the summer season. During the last summer, it was still dumping emormous amounts of water and the water holding tray was overflowing onto the roof. I had a Brivis/Rinnai technician check it out and he did some work which cost about $430. The problem continued so I had Brivis/Rinnai come out again at the end of last summer when the solinoid and water level detector was replaced costing me another $430 or so. Being the end of summer, the air conditioner was not used again until this summer but is still discharging lots of water and overflowing into the roof. I am reluctant to spend another $430 just to find out that the problem has not been fixed once again. What do you suggest?

Hi Terry L, We would recommending contacting the RInnai 1st care team on 1300 555 545 to have someone attend as the parts replaced last year may still be covered under their 12 months spare parts warranty. If its the same part that has failed, charges wont apply.

Thanks Rinnai Australia

If there is a crack / hole in the heat exchanger does this mean there is a risk of carbon monoxide? Can the heat exchanger be replaced and the risk of carbon monoxide resolved? Or does the whole unit need to be replaced? Thanks, Mike

Hi, I have a Brivis GDH Programmble. If i have the schedule set, does the switch on the side for the fancneed to be “on” or “auto” to work? Does the other switch also need to be left on “heat” not “off” for this to switch on automatically. I’m worried about the costs of it been “on” all the time. As it will maintain a lower degree when not in my set times, instead of turning off. Hope this makes sense.
