I've travelled in my BYD Atto 3 for 20000 kms and overall, it has been a positive experience. However, there have been several isolated instances when the car just loses power and stops. The last time when I was driving along a highway in traffic and it lost all power without warning and slowly decelerated to a complete stop. Everything seemed to be operational, lights were on etc., with the exception of the accelerator. Luckily, I was only traveling at about 30 km/h and had just enough time to pull over into a side street. I turned the car off and then on again and continued on without incident. There was no error message nor any warning. This has happened 4 times now in the past 12 months. This last time happened a week after the 20,000 km service. Weird and dangerous! Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas as to the cause??

No I have never had anything as drastic as this. Nearest I have had is one time I pulled into my drive and stopped whilst the garage door opened but when I pressed the acelerator nothing happened, I cannot recall the full details but in that case I think it was something I had done. So far I am very happy with the car but I can imagine new-tech vehicles like this could have some, shall we say foibles, but in your case there is something seriously amis and the servie people need to remedy it.
