Chery J11 T1X (2006-2016) Questions & Answers

Hi all! Chery J11 question. I've just returned after many years away and I've never seen these cars before. Anyway, I liked the look of the one that came up for sale with a faulty transmission, so I bought it. I like fixing things and like a challenge. Here's all I know so far as I've not got it home yet. It starts and runs beautifully. On engaging it in drive or reverse, it engages as if it wants to move but pushing the accelerator down does nothing much. The engine wont rev up. it revs fine in neutral. it feels like the engine is coming against resistance but it's not sending power to the wheels. I've seen people mentioning the oil level and the necessity to change the oil periodically. I'm hoping it's an oil or filter issue or a sensor. But it may be a stuffed trans. Has anyone experienced and solved this issue? Big thanks in advance. Pete

Hi Guys, Does anyone know where the J11 2013 speedo is located? I searched the back and bottom of the engine and only found the rotational speed sensor. Thank you! BTW I am Chinese. There are a huge number of Chery Tiggo in China and the spare parts are very cheap. I am willing to provide free help to anyone who can't find the spare parts.

Hi. Having problems with Chery Tiggo J11. Car will start but does not rev up when I press down on the accelerator. Have replaced fuel pump, relay and fuse. Have replaced muff sensor. Cam shaft and crankshaft sensors are working. Replaced pedal and still no acceleration?

My chery stnsdn 2011 4 cyl won't start, I drove it to shop no problem tryed to start it to come home won't start, it cranks over to try to start but that's it ,had a mechanic put machine on it and he can't get any reading at all,

I bought a brand new Chery J 11 2015. A short time after I purchased it had to undergo a complete rust treatment and parts replaced as was full of rust. I mostly have loved this car as it is not overwhelmed with technology and 100 % reliable. Mind you it has only 32000 on the clock and has been extremely well maintained. AA insurance even rang me to say take it for a spin so battery doesn't go flat lol I have one major concern and feel it is potentially very dangerous. When I was pulling out to main road it suddenly lost power and a van almost hit me as I could not make it go ! My son in law has driven it and said he noticed several times when putting foot on accelerator there was no response. I am now considering whether I should change my car :-( It is booked in to Andrew Simms next week so have asked them to check why it might be doing this. Anyone else had this issue?
