Darche Safari 260 Questions & Answers
VerifiedIs the metal frame that shapes the roof fixed or sewn permanently into the canvas? That is the metal frame cannot be removed from the roof to allow the tent to be folded in a more convenient shaped load? I once owed a Canadian tent of the same design where the 4 right angled roof poles were fitted into tight fitting pockets around the roof base. The poles could be disconnected and removed from the tent for folding. It sounds like this is not the case with this tent?
Yes the roof frame is built in.
how much does the pack weigh if you take out the fly, poles and pegs?
20kg the tent weighs it should say in tent description
I'm just wondering if seasoning is a must for this tent? I have had people say yes and no.
No the only problem we have had is with the poles slipping but darche have replce poles and clips for us so no complaint from us
It's always good to season canvas tents and swags, it's done mostly to make sure you don't get leaks where it's been stitched and also prevents it shrinking unevenly as most canvas products can shrink to a degree.
wind resistance of a Darche 260 tent?

I've seen Mike's comment, it's a total guess. However, I'm now the owner of a Darche Safari 260 and I can say for sure it's a top quality, easy to pop up tent. I'm happy I brought it.
We also now have a Darche 260 Safari Exfellent tent. Wind resistence is very very good and stability tent is terrific but need to be mindful of awning sidewalls over 75 kph. We added a couple of extra poles to awning and then punched 4 new eyelets in the end of awning and then attached cords to connect to roof rack at rear of a prado so we have a sheltered area after large prado door is open.
