Hello, I have a Dyson AM04 and the heat coming out is much warmer at the bottom of the air multiplier and quite cool at the top. Is this normal operation or is my unit malfunctioning? I have chronically cold hands and the bottom heat (on setting 99) is barely sufficient for relief.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your query. I am sorry to her about this, we are happy to help. There shouldn't be any difference in the air temperature exiting the machine between the bottom side and top side of the loop, however no air should come out the top and bottom of the loop. For best assistance, we would kindly ask you to email questions@dyson.com and our US Based Dyson Experts will be more than happy to assist further. Best wishes, Shan

I never got anything or heard of a recall. What can I do with it now? Can it be fixed since there was a recall on it or not? Can I get a new one at a cheaper price?

Hi Sue, Thank you for your query. Regrettably Dyson faced an issue with our AM04 and AM05 heaters. For context, we have sold a million heaters around the world; we have seen a small number short-circuit, which in four cases resulted in contained burning. Although there have been no instances of personal injury or damage to property, it’s four too many and so we took taking action by recalling all AM04 and AM05 heaters and applying an engineering fix, before returning them to owners. None of our cooling fans, or any other machines, are affected. We can make the arrangements to get your machine fixed. Simply give us a call on 1800 239 766 or email auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be happy to confirm if your machine is effected, and if so, help make the necessary arrangements. We are available Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm EST. Best wishes, Shan

Fan speed quit. Temp will increase and number up and down. Pressing fan speed button does nothing. Any ideas?

Hi Deb, Thank you for your query. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your machine, it sounds as though the unit is working but you need to adjust some settings. The thermostat will detect the room temperature and only operate on heat mode if the ambient temperature of the room has not reached the desired temp. For example if you set the temperature to 12 degrees and the room is already at 20 then the fan heater will not operate. If the room is at 20 degrees and you set the temperature to 25 then the fan will kick in and remain on until this temperature has been reached. This means if you want to switch the fan to cooling mode in the summer, you need to set the temperature to 0. The power light will turn blue to confirm this. You can see this in action via this link: https://youtu.be/Z2RSKa_3GzA?t=36s We hope this has satisfactorily answered your query today. If we can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate to email our Dyson Experts via auaskdyson@dyson.com. We are happy to help. Best wishes, Shan

Hi, I just plugged in my Dyson hot/cool fan and when I turned it on there was a bang and a white flash and now it is not working at all. Luckily, I was using the remote control. If I was bending over to manually turn the unit on, it could have injured me. The unit was supplied as new after the recall and was clean with no dust around the base unit. It was so expensive. Do I have any recourse? Help please?! Thank you, Jennifer Dyball [Number Removed].

My dyson hot and cool fan has the power light switched on but will only be able to change the “temperature”. Nothing works says heat/cold options or oscillate or even no wind is coming out from the fan. I have no idea what’s going on. Please shed some lights on this. Thanks! Jessica

When it's cooler outside, and therefore cooler in the house, the fan (cooler temps) won't work. The unit will come on if I increase the temperature to 80+. Then I can make it cooler, but it shuts off again if I take the temp below 71. Any suggestions?

The thermostat will detect the room temperature and only operate on heat mode if the ambient temperature of the room has not reached the desired temp. Received mine yesterday. Turned on heat worked fine. Turned to cool to try it. When I went back to heat the air wasn’t cold but cool coming from the unit. Why isn’t it blowing hot air anymore?

Hi Brenda, Thank you for your query. Your Dyson Hot+Cool machine can take a few moments to heat back up. Please ensure the temperature selected is above room temperature as the intelligent thermostat will detect the room temperature and only operate on heat mode if the ambient temperature of the room has not reached the desired temp. For example if you set the temperature to 12 degrees and the room is already at 20 then the fan heater will not operate. If the room is at 20 degrees and you set the temperature to 25 then the fan will kick in and remain on until this temperature has been reached. We hope this has satisfactorily answered your query today. If we can be of any further assistance please email our Dyson Experts via auaskdyson@dyson.com and we will be happy to help.
