One year old dyson hot and cool so it has lost a lot of heating so it was good.
My Dyson HM04 heats just fine but will not operate if the temperature is set to 22 or lower. Is it not supposed to cool as well? I have alwys wondered.
My AM04 remote works to turn down to cool, but won’t work to raise the heat. I can do it manually pressing the button. Any ideas?
Thanks for your question, Mary. please note your machine is a legacy model and servicing and spare parts are no longer available. We'd suggest replacing the battery in the remote firstly and see if it helps. If that doesn't resolve it feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team to discuss your options, our contact details are listed here:

I don’t appreciate that you took 3 months to give me this response. Dyson actually sells new remotes so I’m not sure why you say “parts are no longer available”. It was too expensive though so I bought one on eBay and it works perfectly.
Our dyson hot & cool fan stopped working suddenly. I plug in, try to turn on… nothing. Very sad about this.
Tried everything that I can think of. Any help?
Please visit following website.... We’re recalling all AM04 and AM05 heaters due to a potential safety issue. Out of a million heaters sold worldwide, we know of a small number that have short-circuited resulting in a small fire contained within the machine. There have been no instances of injury or property damage, but safety is our first priority.
That's why we’re recalling all machines and implementing an engineering fix in each one.
The fix is free (including postage), and we've made it as easy as possible for you. Here's what will happen: external link
The website refers to Australian customers I live in US. Is there a different site I should refer to for customers in the States?
My Dyson AM04 was working fine as a heater in the winter, but the fan doesn’t appear to be powering. It briefly whirrs for 1 second and then stops. I’ve unscrewed it and done a bit of cleaning but the vent wasn’t badly clogged. I think it’s the fan but don’t know how to sort it out.
When you set the temperature on your Dyson Hot+Cool, The thermostat will detect the room temperature and only operate on heat mode if the ambient temperature of the room has not reached the desired temp. For example if you set the temperature to 12 (53F) degrees and the room is already at 20 (68F) then the fan heater will not operate. If the room is at 20 (68F) degrees and you set the temperature to 25 (77) then the fan will kick in, the machine will oscillate if selected, and remain on until this temperature has been reached. When the desired temperature has been reached, the machine will go into standby, and turn back on should the temperature of the room drop.
As the Dyson Hot+Cool won't actively cool the room, for the machine to work in fan mode, please press the blue button on the remote which will override the temperature selection and put the machine into fan mode.

When i turn on my Dyson hot cold fan it pushes warm air on one side and hot on the other. If you on the wrong side of the flow your frozen. The room never seems to reach its temperature setting as its pushing both hot and cold out at the same time. Is this a settings issue or a problem with the device?
My new Dyson Hot Cold on Heat sends out warm air on the sides, no air on top and bottom and very cold air from the back. I cannot use this machine now as it gets colder in the room. From reading past questions this is not unique to my machine. Please HELP - I love my Dyson
Hi our new Dyson can seem to get above 22c. Why can’t it get to 30c it seem to take ages to heat?
The heat your room will get to will depend on numerous factors including (but not limited to) your insulation, room size, wall materials and how much of the heat escapes the room. We encourage setting the temperature on your Dyson Hot+Cool to the target temperature you want your room to be (often between 20 and 24 degrees). The machine will heat to this temperature and when the target temperature is hit, the machine will drop into a lower power mode to save energy and will turn on when the temperature drops below the target temperature.
We hope this helps, however if we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available and happy to help. Our contact details are found here: external link

My dyson fan only blows cold air at 32 degrees setting when i raise it to 33 and above it shuts off why
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your machine, it sounds as though the unit is working but you need to adjust some settings. The thermostat will detect the room temperature and only operate on heat mode if the ambient temperature of the room has not reached the desired temp.
For example if you set the temperature to 12c/53F degrees and the room is already at 20c/68F then the fan heater will not operate. If the room is at 20c/68F degrees and you set the temperature to 25c/77F then the fan will kick in and remain on until this temperature has been reached.
This means if you want to switch the fan to cooling mode in the summer, you need to set the temperature to 0C/32F. The power light will turn blue to confirm this.

Thanks Dyson. Very helpful.
I have the same problem: the heater starts blowing cold air once it reaches the target temperature and then the temperature drops a few degrees before it even starts blowing warm air again! Is this something that needs to be fixed? I have to turn on another heater now!
Please get in touch with our Dyson Experts on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy and we will be happy to assist as this sounds unusual. While the machine will move a small amount of air while monitoring the air temperature in heating standby, it should barely be noticeable.

Why would my Dyson Hot Cold fan be shorting my power.. I have it plugged into a surge protect power board and it has started cutting out..JA8-AU-HJA0391A
If other items are plugged into your powerboard, this could have overloaded your powerboard and caused it to switch off, for this reason, we recommend plugging Dyson machines directly into the wall. Should you believe your machine not to be working as it should, please unplug your machine until you get in touch with our Dyson Experts via auskdyson@dyson.com and we will only be happy to help.
No nothing else was plugged into the powerboard to cause the overload.
I'm having this problem as well
i also seem to be having this problem of the machine cutting out by itself in heat mode. I will try in another room and power point but is this a problem please DYSON can you advise me.

I have a Dyson hot fan. The fan works in cool mode but the fan stops as soon as heat mode is turned on (by changing the temperature from 0 to 1 or higher ). Is this something that can be fixed at home? Thanks very much

My Dyson hot cold unit is not heating room It feels warm near machine but a metre or two away I can only feel cold air Patella
While the Dyson Hot+Cool projects heat, as it also circulates the air in the room, it may not feel hot from a distance, however be assured when heating it is working to heat your room. Should you feel your machine isn't working as it should, please email auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be happy to help.
The heat element only works when it's above 24degrees. If you keep turning up the heat it will work..
The air is barely coming out on 10. Any ideas?

Has your unit been recalled for a fix? If so the gauges have been turned down to prevent units from catching on fire at least that's what happened to my unit I think this heater is way overpriced it does not deliver I would never buy a Dyson anything inferior quality with a hefty price tag
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your AM04. For assistance, please forward your details to questions.us@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be in touch and happy to help.
Hello, I have a Dyson AM04 and the heat coming out is much warmer at the bottom of the air multiplier and quite cool at the top. Is this normal operation or is my unit malfunctioning? I have chronically cold hands and the bottom heat (on setting 99) is barely sufficient for relief.
Hi Andy, Thank you for your query. I am sorry to her about this, we are happy to help. There shouldn't be any difference in the air temperature exiting the machine between the bottom side and top side of the loop, however no air should come out the top and bottom of the loop.
For best assistance, we would kindly ask you to email questions@dyson.com and our US Based Dyson Experts will be more than happy to assist further.
Best wishes,
Shan

I never got anything or heard of a recall. What can I do with it now? Can it be fixed since there was a recall on it or not? Can I get a new one at a cheaper price?
Hi Sue, Thank you for your query. Regrettably Dyson faced an issue with our AM04 and AM05 heaters. For context, we have sold a million heaters around the world; we have seen a small number short-circuit, which in four cases resulted in contained burning. Although there have been no instances of personal injury or damage to property, it’s four too many and so we took taking action by recalling all AM04 and AM05 heaters and applying an engineering fix, before returning them to owners. None of our cooling fans, or any other machines, are affected.
We can make the arrangements to get your machine fixed. Simply give us a call on 1800 239 766 or email auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be happy to confirm if your machine is effected, and if so, help make the necessary arrangements. We are available Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm EST.
Best wishes,
Shan
