I just replaced the battery on my Dyson. It was working fine and now when I pull the trigger, I don’t get anything. It is fully charged. What can I do to fix the trigger?
Hi the charging unit has no power so is not charging the machine. The hand piece flashes red when I try to use but doesn’t work?

I bought a dyson v6 from Target in August. In November it stopped working completely. After troubleshooting and calling the hotline it was determined the battery was dead. So, I have been waiting For a month for the new battery. I have called a few times and am told it will take 10-15 days.
Called today and the gentleman told me the same thing. So, I decided its going back to Target. Ill get my money back and choose a vacuum whose battery will last longer than 3 months. I'm sad because I liked it.
Question is how long should the battery last?
Hi Jack, Thank you for your query. How long you will get out of a battery is individual to each user as there are too many variables to give an estimate. As such, while some Dyson Owners may need to replace their batteries after a shorter time period, others may experience the one battery lasting a number of years. Hi,
I bought this vacuum a couple of years ago to clean up kid spills. I find it fairly ineffectual on our floorboards. It works reasonably on carpet. Most of the kid spills are on our floorboards. Would buying a different head help at all? It just seems to push the debris around on floorboards.

Hi Sarah, Both My Dyson sticks [animal - early model & V6] came with two power heads... a small one which I believe is for pet hair, but they have never been used, I always use the wide powered head which is 250mm wide with no problems on carpet or new wood flooring... I have a couple of thick mats which it doesn't like as the long fibres on the mats jam up the rollers... but everything else they are just magic.... Make sure Your roller in the power head is actually being powered and turning..... if it is it should pick up anything, and then there is the TURBO BUTTON.... LEE BUGBUYER

Hi there. Yes they told me if it flashes 10 times or more then your battery is no good and you will need a new one. $85 apparently if it’s not under warranty. They told me that usually the battery is not included in warranty but gave me a new one out of leniency.....can you believe that! I explained to her that under Australian consumer law they would not have a leg to stand on if they decided not to replace yet she assured me they were doing a big favour. It’s a joke, good luck with your machine.

Motor head separated from canaster container. How do I reattach?
Hi David, Thanks for your question. As the motorhead is the part that touches the floor when vacuuming and contains a spinning brush, is in a different location from the motor, I believe you may be meaning that the clear bin has fallen off, and you need assistance in reattaching it.

My Dyson v6 filter will not come out. Came out when I first purchased but it now appears to be jammed or stuck, maybe with dirt as have not been able to remove for cleaning. Have had over 18 months now and have not been able to remove filter for months. Needs cleaning as blue light flashes if I try to use and cuts out by 10 mins. My dyson V6 is two and a half years old, I damaged the charger and replaced it with a new one but the battery would not charge, so I bought a new battery and it has a blue light but there is no power when I go to use it. What is wrong with it now ? Stephen.

My Dyson V6 is working well when fully charged. When I seat it in the charger the blue light comes on and the machine charges. However, if it is left in the charger and not used straight away it loses the charge in so only works for a few seconds. I then re-seat it, leave it to charge and use it straight away and it works fine. Why is it losing charge whilst still seated?

Does the battery drain when the V6 is unplugged?
Hi there, Thank you for your query. Like many batteries, if left inactive for a period of time, the battery can loose charge. We recommend if storing the machine, prior to first use after a period of time, we would recommend it is fully charged.

Hi there, just wondering what it means when my unit is on charge and it flashes alternative colours of orange and blue? I unplugg it and plug it back in and it stops.

Hi Emily, Thanks for your question. If the machine was in Max power mode when it ran out of battery, an amber light may show while it is charging. It means that the machine reached a warmer temperature during use due to the higher power setting.
This is normal and the light will go off before the end of the charge. Please leave the machine for 3.5 hours to recharge fully.

After following all the troubling shooting tips I could find, my now extremely clean Dyson would still not work. Solution? I finally checked the wall plug (It's location is not visible without moving a plant.) There was the culprit - the charger was still plugged into the outlet but had moved just enough that it was no longer receiving electricity . Because no light was showing on my Dyson, when in thr charger, I thought it was fully charged.
Plugged charger into wall outlet firmly and done!
