Hi, we recently had our pool installed with an EvoHeat pump. Really having a problem finding information on how you run and set the unit for the colder months to maintain an even temperature. Do you have to run the pool pump 24/7 and set a timer for the heat pump? Can the heat pump work without the pool pump running? Help please, really confused. Thanks Joe, Adelaide SA

hi. We have an evo Force -i pool heater installed this year for our swimming pool. We have now stopped swimming in the pool until next summer. my question is do we turn the evo force off completely until next spring or do we need to run it daily or weekly ? Thankyou

Andrew020202
Andrew020202

We turn our off to save power no need to run if your not swimming in the pool same as our split system air cons we don't run them in winter.

Hi, I'm looking to replace a 315 liter electric hot water service with a heat pump. Would an EVO270-1 be a sufficient replacement or should I consider an EVO315-C? Nat

EvoHeat
EvoHeat   DM

Hi Nat, It will depend on how much hot water you use and how many people are in your household. The Evo270-1 is suited to provide hot water for up to 6 people in a domestic application. Give our office a call on 1300 859 933 and our team can give you advice specific to your circumstances.

Thankyou!

I set a timer for 10-16 hours I assume that means the heap pump should NOT run after 4pm right?

Only had mine for a short time but I can highly recommend it. Currently I run it from 7am to 6pm to utilise solar power but the water is still piping hot in the morning despite the cool weather.

From reviews it seems it's a good unit although most have been given extra warranty for their review. For myself, having a faulty system has been a battle now for 6 weeks. Still not fixed. The company has the worst customer service. No communication at all. I keep having to ring them and emailing them. Emails have not been answered. So just a warning if you are unlucky like me and get a faulty system your in for a fight to get it fixed.

The compressor has failed after twenty six months and the very small print says It’s no longer under warranty. How can I replace the compressor. I’m sick of cold showers and live in regional WA Thanks

Hi Dorothy, I've had my Evo270-1 heat pump hot water service for only a very short while so I hope my compressor doesn't fail after just 26-months. You have certainly been unlucky with this failure coming so early in the life of your unit. However, when I was researching my purchase, I found the warranty for my unit was very clearly shown in normal print (not in very small print) on the EvoHeat website as being 2-years on the compressor. This means they do not try to make it difficult to see the terms of their warranties. So, unfortunately, unless EvoHeat makes an exception in your case, you are 2-months outside of your warranty period on the compressor. Damn!

Cheers, John

Hello, I just got the evo force-i i12 Installed in Far North Queensland. The temperature is great, we have it set at 30 degrees Celsius. My question is - the pump runs the filter from 6am to 5pm each day. Do I set the timer on the heater for those time? I know the heater automatically turns off when there is no flow from the pump but I noticed heater started up in the night with no flow. I set the timer and this stopped the issue but was that what you are supposed to do?regards Terry

I would say the outdoor fan may have started at noght but would be pretty sure the compressor did not. with no waterflow it would saftey trip out pretty quick. I run my pump from 9am untill 5pm and heater from 10am untill 4pm. My 12kw solar system gives me free heating through winter. no issue with how you are running it. I'm in Mango Hill.

TerryC
TerryC

You are probably correct, I think it was only the fan. Do you set the built in timer on the heater? I am Cooya Beach near Mossman Queensland. Running during my solar time so energy wise it is great. Unsure why fan would come on but probably a safety mechanism to cool compressor.

I have both turned off on my Force 26, only work it during "daylight" hours with solar, great unit. I am in the Hunter Valley area of NSW not like you in North Qld. Enjoy

Hi TerryC, My name is Josh I work for EvoHeat. If have any questions please feel free to call me. My number is 0404001844. Depending on how your heater is plumbed in, the heater may have control over the filtration pump (via a Jbox) or a separate water pump. If this it the case then the heater can start the water pump within the timers to check and heat the pool if needed. If no timers set then most of the heating will be done over night as this is when you pool is loosing heat.

If the heater is flow controlled the heater can not run unless the the chlorinator has turned the water pump on. You can shorten the run time shorter than filtration cycle if needed to tie in better with you solar system but you can not lengthen.

If you need any local help have a chat with Chris at the Port Douglas Pool Shop.

Cheers

Josh

I am in Maitland area of NSW ( Lower Hunter ) have 65000 litre salt water in ground pool with Solar Heating. I am taking Solar Heating off roof to install 10kw Solar Panels. Want to replace pool heating with Heat Pump. Local pool shop has suggested Force 14 Evo Unit. Thru summer months pool temp generally ok for us without heating but want to use pool into autumn / winter etc. Looking at various on line calculators appears 14kw unit might be a little too small for us. Also would like to clarify best location for unit..how much clearance front and back best. Thanks Paul

Paul
Paul

Mine is about 45000 lt and I have a force 22, was told by ecoheat 14kw of if i could afford go 18kw and went 22kw(what the heck). so I believe mine is oversized, but heats pool great, I also have a cheap bubble pool blanket to keep heat in. maybe get evoheat to confirm size. We run our pool at about 29oC. Looks like it reaches temp within about 2hrs run time . Looking at data pool temp dropping o/night 28oC external link

Hi. Can’t help noticing similar responses; “The guys at EVO helped me choose the correct model, which is now working perfectly“, from both Paul and Michael. I was looking to use your company, however with made up responses, I will go elsewhere. Good luck.....
