I have applied your slate and pebble sealer to repost my slate floor. Half of the floor dried full gloss but the other half dried Matt finish. What is the problem?

Hello John and Margaret, Thank you for reaching out via Product Review with your enquiry. There are a couple of variables that can cause this issue, making it difficult to assess over this platform. We have found the most common reason for uneven sheen levels is that the product has not been stirred enough, causing the matting agent (which settles to the bottom of the can) to not be evenly distributed. There are, however, other factors that can cause this including uneven wear of the substrate or a specific temperature variable of the surface from one end to the other.

In order to understand far more detail about the specifics of your project, we would need to ask you a few questions so as to find the potential reasons, and more importantly a solution. If you wish, feel free to give us a call on 1800 252 502 and quote your ticket number "816032 " to our technical consultant who takes your call.

Our operating hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm AEST.

Is slate and stone sealer the same as slate and pebble sealer as that was all Bunnings had?

Feast Watson
Feast Watson   DM

Hello there Wayne L, Thank you for reaching out via Feast Watson Product Review. The Feast Watson Paving & Sandstone Sealer product has been discontinued and basically the same as the current Slate & Pebble Sealer. The main difference is that the Slate & Pebble Sealer is only available in a Gloss sheen finish. Please be sure to test coat over a small clean dry section first, before committing to an expanse. external link

Can you tell me what product I could use to strip back the Feast Watson Thank youslate and pebble sealer incorrectly applied to a granite stone wet edge on our pool. The product has been applied to the granite coping around the pool very successfully but is obviously not intended to be submersed in water continually. What can I use to remove the product and return the granite to its natural state please.

Hi! If you want to remove Feast Watson Slate & Pebble sealer you can try Xylene. It's solvent based and can be used for thinning and stripping sealers. If we can help with anything else please get in touch with us on 1800 252 502.

Hi Anthony, we actually have a sealer specifically for sandstone. It's called Feast Watson Paving & Sandstone Sealer. We would recommend this product over your natural sandstone. You can find out more information here: external link

Is this suitable to seal pottery such as terracotta ???

Feast Watson

Hi Gus,

You can use Feast Watson Paving & Sandstone Sealer on terracotta however it must not be glazed in any way. The entire surface of the pottery must be sealed for it to work effectively.

Feast Watson
