Hitachi RAS25/35/50/60/70/80YHA Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy hitachi won't go into heat mode. It's freezing cold in the middle of winter and it refuses to heat it just sits in an idle state then shuts itself off. Managed to get it going once again after resetting the remote but it shut itself off a couple hours later and won't heat again. I have three kids. And a freezing house. Unacceptable. Worse. My landlord won't do anything unless he is legally obligated.
Sound like its out or warranty. Maybe a technician can talk you through things. Other than that sounds like a fan heater and an oil filled filter with the right power company for now.
Does anyone experience, the automatic turn on and off issue with it? My aircon starts at odd hours on its own and then turns off, prety weird. I also see the timer light (red one) blinking twice denoting error 2. Glad, its still in warranty.
Not really. We set it at night and I understand that if no movement is detected it will reduce/adust the temperature but will put it back to how it was when movement is detected. There is a bit about this in the manual. cheers
Looking for a PWB for the outside unit. Can anyone please guide where to get that in Brisbane or rest of Australia. Thanks
Defrost mode
Defrost mode
What?
Hi how often does it go into defrost mode
Never. Mine has not frozen, this can occur in very high humidity I believe, I have no idea about a defrost mode
It depends on the humidity outside It can get to 0 degrees where I live but my units never do because the humidity is always very low

The louvres remain stationary. Unable obtain Parallel Swing or Symmetry Swing. Also louvres do not close when unit switched off. Can adjust temperature with remote control. Batteries are good. Filters are clean. Please advise possible cause(s).
Accidently turned the timer on .can,t see how to turn it off? The screen on the remote can,t be read.I need to get it back to manual
Selecting timer should show on remote
Multiple selection should de select
Cannot undersstand why you cant see on remote.
Only solution i can think of is to remove battery from remote to reset it.
The outdoor unit seems very loud and humming/Vibrating is this normal?
When on auto it drips water inside on carpet & on cool dosent blow air out. Any ideas?
No such problems with mine. Suggest you check drain hose to outside. With unit power off run flexible wire from outside till appers in unit being careful not push too far into unit.in addition ensure inside filter and look at fins on evaporator behind filter to ensure clean.
If all good suggest service call.
When we put it on heater more, it stops working. The fan goes super slow and unit seems to stop. One we switch to coming the unit weeks as normal. Any ideas what's going on?
Where would I be able to get a backing plate for a RAS 35YHA1 as the one I have had not have one? thankyou
I have no idea, sorry. I've submitted an update for my review as the unit failed us in winter and now again as the warmer weather has kicked in. I wouldn't recommend this product.
I have a Hitachi split system, RAS-70YHA. It make a noise like a jet engine winding up in speed when first started. It is not too loud but is still rather annoying. I think it is coming from the outdoor unit on the roof, but I can't get up there to check. It increases in pitch from low to high and after about 15mins it is mostly gone.
Has anyone else had this problem with these or similar split systems?
Thanks
No - that doesn't sound right.
Just check if there is any chipping timbers under the compressor ,need to be removed ,somtimes the installer forget to remove it..usually that cause the problems you having .good luck
