iRobot Scooba 300 Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedThere isn’t any water coming out. And only goes fir a few minutes and stops with the water light lit up how can I fix this
There's a video on YouTube to fix a lack of water problem, have you checked it out? Never had the problem, so no other ideas but hope that helps.
Hi Sandy, so sorry to hear this. We would recommend checking out the iRobot support site for further assistance on troubleshooting your Scooba: external link Kind regards, iRobot
Hello, my Scooba will not clean (after spending five years in storage). It starts cleaning, but stops after one second (it moved a little bit). Both the Power and Clean light blink green a couple of times (and it seems to want to move for a split second, but doesn't), then it stops and powers of. It charges fine. Running a diagnostic it shows the 'Check Brush' light, but I have thoroughly cleaned it several times already. Any ideas? cheers, paul
Hi Paul, unfortunately Scooba has been long discontinued at iRobot and we cannot offer current product support for this model. Please see the following link for information that may assist: external link Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help. Kind regards, iRobot
I replaced the battery, and it works fine again. Which is strange, since the old battery was able to charge without issue and none of the lights (even after running diagnostics) pointed to the battery. It would just run for five cm (two inches) and then stop.
Swapping the battery with another second hand Scooba 390 moved the problem to the other Scooba. So it definitely is the battery.
Anyway, problem solved and I now have spare parts.
cheers, paul
The machine will not discharge any water. It goes round and round but runs dry. Quite useless. Any help?
i have scooba 390 for 6 months. Now the water would not come out and it only last for 7-8 minutes everytime I run it as there is an alert sound and water tank light keep blinking (even though the water is full and won't come out). I have tried to clean it including cleaning the tank, the brush, squeeze, pumping it using the tool. Has anyone had this experience? Thanks
Some say run a vinegar solution through it - but if it's not pumping through then you're in the hands of their Non Customer Service department

Hi there, did you get thus fixed?? Mine is doing the same thing, and then the battery dies
After placing a new battery in my Scooba,38504, all the warning lights flash, complete with the tuneful play.
Is there a reset button to get it to work?
What type of battery is the CORRECT one to use?
Is a lithium battery any good? for use?
Hi Rosemary, can you let us know where you purchase the battery from and if it was an i-Robot / Scooba battery. Please email service@ixl.com.au with the details. Include in the subject "Product Review - Scooba Questions - Forward to Operations Manager". Once I have this information I will talk to our technician and get some advice.
Kind regards,
I-Robot Australia - Operations Manager
Yes it is an iRobot Scooba battery.
My irobot scion will not start, keeps saying empty tank. Have repeated this several times still says same thing. How do I fix
Model 390?
My Scooba said tank water needed changing. I presume their sensors fail and give these warnings. Unfortunately when you find the company's phone number they are of no use. Sorry.
Try pumping the primer underneath the unit. Sometimes they develop an air lock. Good luck.
How do you prime it? I just got given 1 brand new, charged it, put water in, it does what valeries does. I have a puddle on my floor but not working.
Hi Coz, sorry to hear this. Please refer to the following support article for assistance on this: external link Unfortunately this product is long discontinued from iRobot AU so there is little further assistance I can provide in regard to support or replacement parts. Please contact our customer service department if you would like to further discuss with our team.
Kind regards, iRobot
Why does the motors break all the time?... they are simply too weak. spinning, and then drive backwards, and it is not the error from the front wheel ( hair), that causes it. If testing it it can't drive backwards in a straight line... it is the second Scooba I have since 2012, 3 dead batteries, and totally 6 dead motors.. I have used the Scooba not more than once a week.. I don't dare to calculate how much money they have cost me, totally..
To compare I have a cheap Chinese no-name robot vaccum cleaner that cost 60 Euro 5 years ago, and it is still working and has been used a lot more than the Scooba's, generally be course they has been broken most of the time..
Hi naranca, I so far have not had this problem, I have two batteries and leave them charging all the time. When I got my new one from someone that had only used it a few times, the battery was not good, however I just left it on the charger for 3 days and used it a few times and now it works well. The batteries do not like to sit around in the scooba. As for the motors, not sure which ones you are referring to, but so far all my motors are running ok. I have a second hand scooba 385 I bought from eBay as is, it was not working, when I got it, but it came with many spare parts that I can use in the 390.
I have been trying to purchase one of these from an Aussie retailer without success. Could you tell me where you got yours from. Thanks
Hi Lesley
Unfortunately, I purchased mine from Harvey Norman a couple of years ago.
You can also purchase them online from TV shop Australia.
I have no idea Daina. My Scooba has now died.
Currently on special at Harvey Norman $299
I like the way the scooba 390 cleans the floor so thoroughly but I don't like the way it leaves my floor very wet after 45 mins. I thought this had a squeezee attached so it would dry the floor. Did i misread this? Does it dry the floor at all or leave it wet every time.
My Scooba started to leave the floor wet. I contacted them and they replaced the head module.
