How do I put the gas bottle onto the pipe?
What kind of gas notes do I need for the jumbuck barbecue.?The one 3.7 kg that I bought is not compatible .
Are there covers available for these?
Can I use a 4 kg companion bottle on the portable hotplate bbq
Just bought one and fired it up and all i get is a bright yellow flame and soot everywhere. Any ideas?
Does the gas hose detach from the burner?
Yes
Sorry to say it. The changes to the new model are terrible. Everything burns in the middle & doesn’t cook on the outer of the plate. The plate cracked on the 3rd use. It is very difficult to adjust the heat. The new model has no ignition switch. We thought we would get the same old reliable product. What a disappointment.
how to fit a 2kg gasmate bottle to a Jumbuck Portable Round Hotplate...would i need a adapter?
Will a gasmate regulator fit the hose
Attention Jumbuck Rep. I want to change gas supply to a POL connector and regulator. What parts and orifice sizes do I need to get a correct gas/air flow.
Take it to your gas or brass fitting shop, possibly a very good hardware. I know the perfect place in Launceston but if you're not there, it's not much good for you. Ask around as I am currently away from my BBQ on vacation.
Where can you buy a replacement hose for this BBQ
Hi Baz, you will have no problem replacing any BBQ style gas hose at a typical outdoor center like Rays Outdoors by example. Many hardware stores can also be helpful. Cheers.
Thanks Lou, this hose is not a typical BBQ generic hose. It incorporates very small gas flow restrictors in both ends of the hose fittings. The fitting that attaches to the BBQ also has two big air holes to allow mixing of air and gas before it enters the single burner. You can run this original set up without a regulator on a large LPG bottle no problem. All you need is an adapter "3/8 BSP" one end and standard gas bottle at the other. Bunnings answer to my problem is to buy another BBQ.
Hi Lou, Just noticed your answer to using a regulator if your using a large gas bottle. I agree it would be safer to use a regulator, but I'm not sure how the end result would turn out, because of the restrictors in the original hose. Dropping the pressure/flow with the regulator down to 2.8 Kpa, it may not be enough for the burner to work properly. If you were to install a regulator and a normal hose, you would have to consider what size restrictor you would use for that pressure, and also figure out your air ratio, and how you would get the air in there and how to adjust it.. I'd probably put this project into the too hard tray. I've taken the burner out of the BBQ body and mounted it on a stand. The use now is to start the charcoal chimney, which is working very well, quick as to go charcoal cooking.
Do you need a regulator to connect to gas?
If you use the disposable gas bottles as intended, it is not required but I can assure you, if you use a refillable gas bottle on anything, it will need a regulator. It controls the gas and keeps everyone safe. : )
Hmm, Using the small bottles is a pain. Run out quickly and not as easily available as the refill ones. But to use a bigger one is tricky to work out. Using an adapter works, however it is hard to adjust the flame to low and there is no regulator in this set up. Tried a new hose with regulator but it nearly blew my face off. I think the hose needs those tiny holes in it to work? Who knew it’d be this complicated.
Does the gas hose detach from the burner?
If not, should I purchase a regulator?
The hose attachment doesn’t have a connection that will fit a gas bottle.
Nah it doesnt, it goes to a 2kg lpg gas bottle not the normal sized ones
