What price?

Hi Ali, this is a discontinued product. Thanks, the Kambrook Team

LIONEL
LIONEL

I have ordered this machine just in time, as it appears to be discontinued. I have also ordered a manual Tamper, but think I should have paid a little more, & ordered an Automatic one, which produces 30 psi pressure to flatten the coffee. I will try out the one I have ordered, & if not happy, will go in for the Automatic pressure one. My question is what amount of coffee in grams should be placed in the holder before using the Tamper, for normally ground coffee?

Lina
Lina

it has a level, so normally you don't go over it. But I noticed that it depends on coffee and your taste. You may have to experiment with different blends and portions to find out how you like it.

Where can you buy this machine in adelaide?

Bluelakeboy
Bluelakeboy

Probably at either a Harvey Norman or a Big W if you can get to one of these, although I must admit the last few times I've been in one these stores locally I haven't seen a Kambrook on offer-Sunbeam do a similarly priced machine that is currently retailing at Big W, I use it here at work and does the job OK for its price and features. Good luck finding what you need.

Try Big W.

Got kes110 for my husband.we've been using it for less than 2 weeks and today in the morning we found out that the frother doesn't work. There is enough water and the frother is clean. What it could be?

Don
Don

Take it back for a full refund and buy a similar Sunbeam product. About 20 or 30 dollars dearer but far superior.

My frothy thingy doesnt work that well any more is there a way of taking it apart we have cleaned it flushed it used the little tool on it ,first we thought it was the milk,

Tony7
Tony7

It may be leaking pressure from the little pressure button on the water container lid or it may be the lid seal itself. It is worth taking this seal off the lid, clean inspect and invert and see if this fixes it.

My espresso seems to be coming out too watery, no matter how I tamp the coffee or how much I put in. Is the grind too coarse?

skoni
skoni

I use the finest grind I can make (I use my own grinder) I have not experienced your problem. Coffee seems to be strong. But I noticed now something else (after ~ 2 months of using the machine) : near the end of making a cup there is a lot of steam coming out, the whole machine gets quite wet from that. And there is a little bit less 'coffee' in the cup, because some of water simply steamed out of the machine into the air.

Kambrook
Kambrook   DM

When grinding coffee, the grind should be fine but not too fine. The grind size will affect the rate at which the water flows through the ground coffee in the filter basket and the taste of the espresso.

If the grind is too fine (looks like powder and feels like flour when rubbed between fingers), the water will not flow through the coffee even when under pressure. The resulting espresso will be OVER

EXTRACTED, dark in colour and bitter in flavour. If the grind is too coarse the water will flow through the ground coffee in the filter basket too quickly. The resulting espresso will be under extracted lacking in colour and flavour.

Kambrook
Kambrook   DM

There should not be a lot of steam coming out during coffee extraction stage. If this is the case the grind could be too fine so the machine has under-extracted particularly if the espresso is dripping but does not flow and extract the right amount of coffee liquid. The filter basket in this case may have too much coffee and/or the grind is too fine.

The other issue could be the water being used. We recommend using cold, filtered water. We do not recommend using water with no/low mineral content such as demineralised or distilled water.

If this reoccurs please call our customer service centre on 1300 139 798.

My KS200 heats up but nothing happens when I select coffee or steam ?

Tony Baroney
Tony Baroney

maybe you dont have enough water so there is not enough pressure, you have to fill up just below the top of the tank so there is enough water to make pressure,if that dosent work replace it or et a refund.

How do I clean my coffee machine eg filter?

Tony Baroney
Tony Baroney

i put a clean filter in the holder without any coffee in it,i then attach it to the machine and pretend im making a coffee so the hot water coming thru cleans up inside the machine, there might be still some old coffee left so i wipe up inside the machine with a damp cloth,i run the water thru at least twice, this also releases any pressure left in machine.

Kambrook
Kambrook   DM

The filter holder, stainless steel filters and drip tray can be washed with soapy water. If you think the extraction is not working correctly, look at decalcifying the machine. This reduces limestone build up. This process is fully explained in the instruction booklet which can be downloaded from the Kambrook website. external link

What sort of plastic is the boiler on the Kambrook 110 made out of? Mine has a very offensive chemical smell - how do I get rid of it? as it is tainting the coffee...

We have the same problem. We were given one of these coffee makers. Great little machine except for the smell. Eventually we traced it down to the white neoprene-like seal inside the lid. We tried baking soda, vinegar, etc without improvement.

We rang Kambrook customer service team. Because the item was out of warranty, we would have to order a new washer. Would it smell the same? They didn't know - and apparently had no interest in checking.

Our local appliance dealer - who had not sold it to us - tried to order a new seal, but was told it would have to be a whole lid . Would it have that smell? They couldn't tell. And the price? The cost of a new machine.

We have been had!

My new Kambrook was a Christmas gift and I have been unable to drink a coffee so far - due to the plastic or metallic smell coming from the water tank. The coffee taste is seriously tainted.

Tony7
Tony7

I was since assured that the 'boiler' on the Kambrook KES110 is anodised aluminium. It may be that the final manufacturing/cleaning uses either a distasteful cleaner or something to keep the inside new looking even after prolonged shelf life. Worth running a known cleaner thru it a few times. I since tried a Breville with the no 7 in the triangle mark (not for food) on the plastic cold water tank. It was comparatively useless at double the price and with a very average frothing system. I will soon revert to the Kambrook I think.

Tuck
Tuck

I bought one and did do a run with cold water as per instructions. The coffee from my machine is beautiful. Might be luck I don't know.

I am still getting the metallic/ plastic smell and taste...what are the 'known' cleaners?

CK
CK

What I concern is not only the plastic taste, but the impact to health, particularly for men. The plastic part on the water tank may produce some DEHP after high temperature. Anyone opinions?

Homer
Homer

My KES110 has an aluminium heater tank. it has started oxidizing the aluminium producing aluminium oxide. The end product taste is vile The water comes out milky with the aluminium in it. This is a very serious health issue and also may account for the taste some have noted in above posts

"plastic or metallic smell " "The coffee taste is seriously tainted"

"still getting the metallic/ plastic smell and taste"

"not only the plastic taste, but the impact to health"

There’s a reason that your electric jug is made from stainless steel even though it costs more. It doesn't react with the oxygen atom in the water molecule (heat is a catalyst in the reaction, more heat, more conversion. Aluminium + oxygen + heat = Aluminium Oxide).

Aluminium is cheap. The same reason that lead was used years ago in paint, toothpaste, petrol, lipstick, and more.

How long are going to let the big corporations/Chinese manufacturers bend us over? Till it kills us I guess.
