Hi. I just got it but it seems like the battery is running out after three hours. Does it needs to be kept plugged in?
Hi, yes it does as we found the battery only lasts about 3 hours as well.

I am looking to replace my Oricom sc710 that has an out of warranty problem. I think the Kodak c225 ticks most of the boxes. Even after 3 years daily discharge / recharge, the oricom can last all night with charge to spare. Does the Kodak c225 parent unit really only last 4 hours on battery, with vox on and screen (mostly) off? Or have I misread the specs. Thanks.
Hi there, thanks for the message. The Kodak C225 parent unit has a battery life of up to 8 hours with power save mode enabled. All the best, Kodak Smart Home Australia.
Thank you :) do you have more information? It is confusing - There are many online / review references that the battery lasts up to 4 hours, but nothing about 8 hours and power save mode. There is nothing in the manual about battery duration, or even about power saving modes. Is the 4 hour reference to total autonomy time at maximum usage? Having the battery die during the night is a bit of a deal breaker.
Hi there, your welcome. We would recommend you get in contact with our Kodak Customer Support team support@kodaksmarthome.com as the team will be able to answer all of your questions. All the best, Kodak Smart Home Australia.
As expected, a pretty ordinary answer from "support". Not sure why this is such a difficult question to answer! "Thank you for contacting KODAK Smart Home Support. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Baby Monitor.
Please notice that the Parent Unit can last for 7 hours from a full battery with default settings.
The battery lasts for 5 to 7 hours depending on the user's interaction, including the different features that you may select.
These are some of the factors that can impact the battery life of your Parent Unit. Brightness level Volume level Motion and Sound Detection feature activated
Based on these factors, we suggest adjusting the brightness and volume accordingly. Please follow these steps to do it: ADJUST VOLUME AND BRIGHTNESS
The Parent Unit comes with a built-in Li-ion battery and should be charged for 6 hours. Charging the rechargeable battery pack fully before use is recommended. This will allow the unit to operate on the battery efficiently.
Only use the chargers and power adapters provided. Never use other chargers or power adapters as it may damage the device and battery pack.
Please note, all our Kodak Smart Home products are designed in such a way that they can be plugged in all times to the power source using the provided power adapter and it does not cause any harm.
I hope this information helps."

Does this come with a warranty? Also can the parent device be used without wifi?
Hi Bridie, thanks for the message. The Kodak Cherish baby monitor range comes with a 2 year warranty. The parent and camera unit can be used without a WiFi connection however in order to use the mobile app you will need WiFi. All the best, Kodak Smart Home Australia.
I’ve just purchased this. How do I mount the camera? The power cord is in the way so it won’t sit flat?
