VerifiedMy kogan steam iron has no steam. And water is pouring out of iron holes
Try cleaning the steam boiler according to the manual.
How do I turn on the steam. It was working ok but suddenly there is no steam. There is water in the container and plate is hot. Is there a switch which I may have accidentally switched off?

Is there a reason why Kogan 2000w steam iron has been discontinued. I find it fabulous and recommended it to a number of friends but now find it is not available??
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for your question and it's great to hear that you've been happy with your steam iron. There's no particular reason that this iron was discontinued as we received a great response to it.
We may have a new one released in the future, however, we can't provide an ETA as to when it will become available.

Hi, can you tell me please if I'm doing something wrong with the settings, etc. The problem I'm getting is that overtime (good couple of hours ironing non stop) the steam actually wets (soaks) the ironing board cover and sometimes leaves spots of water on the clothes. I have a wool ironing board underlay under the original cover for padding. I'm hoping it's just that I've set the iron at the wrong settings. Please advise as I do ironing for clients. Thank you!
It happens to me as well, and I've often found that if I turn the iron on and only have it on the lowest heat setting first, it should be ok. Then build up the heat setting as you have ironed a few items. When the water level is nearly on low, turn the heat setting down again to iron. Refill and then start again on low heat. Hoping this helps.
Thankyou Angela K, will give it a go
Hi, I feel that a fairly thick layer under the cover will trap the steam and then it will condense back to water which will build up wetting through to the top. We have a thin cover and padding then mesh and the excess steam goes right through the board.
I hope this helps you we now also have Kogans new 2400 watt steam station and it performs even better if that is possible.
Thanks wafarmer, I know what you mean, I did have that before but I bought the wool underlay as when I ironed with just the standard cover (with a normal steam iron) id get the mesh imprint coming onto the clothes (especially the dark coloured ones), but what your saying makes sense too
My steam iron was working wonderfully, but for the past few days it has stopped working as it is failing to produce steam. The second chamber dose not full..I have followed the trouble shooting guide and cleaned chamber but is still not producing steam...is this common and what should I do???
Hi Natasha, Thank you for your question regarding the Steam Iron! While it's not common, it does not seem right that the waters not getting in to the second chamber. As you have attempted the troubleshooting from the manual, there may be an issue with the unit.

I have the same problem. When I first purchased iron it would just stop steaming and the cord would go cold. I contacted Kogan and did not receive any help, don't think they believed me. I love the concept of the iron so decided to persevere. It used to make a terrible noise when heating but this has now stopped, not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Every time I iron it stops steaming at some point, I jiggle the water tank, take it out, turn iron off, go and have a coffee, come back and usually it will start again. Today it has not steamed again. I did about 30 minutes ironing, then the steam stopped. I have tried for just on an hour and in the end finished the ironing without steam.
Ok so my hubbie went and bought one for me dont know why when the one Ive got does the job but as I love to iron this looks good ..and my daughter will benefit from the old iron ..Anyways it came with no instructions ..Can you please tell me what to do and those silicone stripes over the iron stand do they stay put they wont melt onto the iron plate will they maybe a dumb question I dont feel dumb I just wanna know please?
This is not a hot IRON like you are used to. It is a steam IRON. The silicone is perfect and does not melt. I wish I had one 20 years ago. Once you use this style of IRON you cannot go back. Kind Regards Wayne - No I don't work for Kogan... LOL You don't need instructions however I have a water filter and I use the water from that rather than the tap. Personal preference.
no the silicone will not melt just fill it up with water and switch it on. the instructions are available online from Kogans site to print out if you have trouble I maybe able to email them to you. My wife uses this product every day as we have holiday properties with a lot of linen.
A correction to the statement that the Kogan 2000W Steam is not a hot iron it is that is what the temperature selection dial is for to test just tap your finger on the sole plate.
Hi Lady In Waiting! Thanks for your question regarding our 2000W Steam Iron! We do certainly have a user manual available online which can be viewed at any time at the following link: external link Rest assured that the Silicone will not melt and it is designed for the iron to sit on top of. However, always be cautious to ensure that the iron does not come in to contact with the hose or the mains power cord.
