Hi it is boxing day 2013 I have just purchased the Laurastar Steamup G4 Evolution Iron. I thought I would get online to see if I could avoid any possible mistakes to ensure that I get quality performance from the system. I have become concerned and now very hesitatnt to use it, I am considering returning the iron to the store for a store credit or refund. I was disappointed to read so many negative reviews on the item. This product is certainly very expensive and I would have thought it would have had a large amount of positive reviews. Please exsplain to me why the iron has either no steam or stopped working altogeather.

Please call customer service on 1800 999 910 to discuss the problems you are concerned about. Negative reviews on these review sites do not necessarily represent the true situation on any product or brand. They could be placed by competitors as we cannot verify the identity of any of the reviews, there is no verification of the faults claimed by these people. Also please note we have 22 reviews on the G4 but we have sold over 6000 units since their launch in 2005.

Hi I am a customer who purchased one of these several years ago directly from Laurastar. Do not believe what the official has stated above. After 16 months of use I had to have repairs at a cost of $274.00. Don't know why it broke down. Because it was so expensive I did go ahead with the first repair. It broke down on me again only a couple of months ago and after placing negative review on productreview they emailed me right away to get in contact with them. I did this and was told to send it back to them. They sent me box with return number. I then rang Laurastar and was told freight of $30.00 as well as repair costs. I would have thought they would repair it at no charge particularly as they are quick to monitor the site and make it all sound fantastic customer service and pr. I have thrown it in bin as won't spend anymore on it.. I personally would be returning it and purchasing another brand. Try Tefal top of range. It had 90 day satisfaction g'tee and 2 yr g'tee.

Hi Dodie, I had to have the iron repaired six months after purchase. I was told that the reason the steam stopped working and the iron kept beeping was because there was a problem with the sensor. Since having it repaired, it is functioning very well. Like you, I was very concerned about my purchase of such an expensive iron, but I have been assured by sales people in different electrical stores that it is a quality iron and they have very few returned. It does iron clothes very nicely, best of luck, Julie

I purchased a G4 approximately 4 years ago. I have had it serviced once and a switch replaced once. Both costing around $175 each time.

I had a higher expectation regarding the longevity and quality of this product considering how expensive it was. Now 10 months since the last service it is not producing steam, and has an electrical smell. I would like to trade it in for another model as I am very disappointed with the G4. Please advise. I live on the Gold Coast.
