VerifiedMPN: R9MASTERHow do you do a Hard Reset on the LG R9 Robot Vacuum? Pls advice
How do you do a hard rest on the LG R9 Robot Vauum?
Indicator shows fully charged but when it leaves the home base it turns off. Wifi is set up, can’t even do a smart diagnosis.
Mine did the same got it sent away. Battery is most likely stuffed
I’ve setup a schedule for cleaning which shows as active, but when the time comes to start the cleaning note happens. Please help!
Why do you provide no service paperwork to customers? This is against Australian consumer law.
I am about to take legal action against LG and this is one of the things I will be raising with them.
They never provided me with any paperwork of what services they performed on my vac, if any. Then they told me they don’t want anything to do with refunding or fixing it after the 3rd time and video footage. Never buying LG again
I have a couple of questions: How do you change/set the time on the R9Master? I can’t set a schedule because the time is wrong and can’t find any information on how to set it to the correct time. After initially mapping the house quite well and returning to base reasonably easily, it now can’t seem to find base without going all over the house trying to find it. Sometimes it ends up directly in front of base but then turns away and keeps searching for it all over the place. Sometimes it eventually finds it, other times it runs out of power a couple of meters away, facing the wall or table leg. It’s very infuriating watching it! I was under the impression that it got better at finding its way after a few days, but it seems the opposite is happening. Is it faulty or just a bit rubbish?
How good is this vacuum for dog hair on floor boards ?
Mate I have German Shepard, short hair and R9 is useless. Dirt inlet port is way to small for anything but dust. Just clogs up. Big regrets with this machine
Hi.i have just purchased and have used two duds in a row I have a fairly large house and cannot seem to get it to do the last two bedrooms? I have it on edge mode
Does anyone have issues with connecting to LG Thinq app. We purchased over a year ago and had an issue setting up then, help centre was hopeless and was told to return it to the store for exchange. We did and they happily exchanged. Unit connected and worked great. The unit needed to be repaired and when we got it back, the language was set to Japanese and again it won’t connect to app, help centre stated that they can’t help with that and told me to return it to the store.
Hi. I cannot get the LG vacuum to edge clean in the kitchen. The cupboards are bout 140mm high from the ground and stick out about 70mm from the kick panel which is on the ground ( I hope this makes sense) it stops about 150mm short from the edge. I know it can’t get right to the edge but is there away to get closer to the edge when cleaning ?
Hi Barry, have you got the vac on the edge cleaning mode or the zigzag mode? If you have the vac on the edge cleaning mode, it should get right up to the kick panel so long as the cupboards are not preventing it from doing so. However, if you use the edge cleaning mode the vacuuming will take longer but will be effective. I usually leave it on the zigzag mode and clean up the edges and areas that were inaccessible to the vac with my vac stick. Hope this helps.
Thanks Cianna. It’s on edge mode. It stops about 150mm short from the edge. The vac is working fine it must see the cupboard as a obstruction because it is below 143mm from what sticks out from the kick panel. But the cupboard only sticks out about 70mm but the vac stop about 150mm away. Just wanted to know if there is a way to get it closer. It only takes 5 seconds to clean up the spot with the vac stick which I’ve been doing. The robo vac does such a good job around the rest of the house I’m just getting lazy haha.
Thanks
My one had the same problem.. my resolution was using a dustpan and brush and sweeping it myself until I got a new vacuum.
Exactly the same issue. On edge mode doesnt clean the kitchen well enough. It could help if it changed the direction. But it goes in long vertical moves all the time and doesn't reach under kitchen cupboards.
We have an open plan house and there is a large section of a room that the vacuum would need to be excluded from. As there are no doors or barriers to ensure this I'm wondering if the "myzone" feature is something that has to be programmed in everytime or once it is on the mapped area of the house is it there until you remove it? This is a crucial feature that needs to be confirmed before I purchase the vacuum. Also are the consumable filter parts easily replaceable from Harvey Norman?
Hi Robyn, sorry but I think you'd need to speak to someone at LG or Harvey Norman as I have no idea. The cleaner won't map the house. I've tried a few times and it fails every time so I don't know about the programming. I can't program it when the useless thing won't do the map to start with. As for the consumable parts, that's another question for LG or Harvey Norman. Sorry. All I can help with is an honest opinion of this cleaner and it's useless. For something so expensive I'd expect a lot better than something that dies all over the house, won't map, won't return to base most times to charge, cleans the same room over and over and over and ignores the other rooms. OMG, it's rubbish!
Thanks for your honest review. I'm coming off a very frustrating similar situation with another brand of robotic vacuum. Returned the first one coz I thought I had a lemon only to find the second one is doing much the same useless things. Thought I'd try a different brand but maybe they're all just rubbish.
Hi Robyn, I had huge problems with the Samsung Powerbot VR9300 and finally received a full refund after 8 months. Consequently, I was very careful when purchasing the LG and did a lot of research including e.g., external link and so far I haven't been disappointed. I have found that the LG vacuums over rugs that have black in the pattern with no problem whatsoever because the sensors can differentiate between stairs and black/dark carpets/floors (something the Samsung couldn't do). The LG also mounts a small step into our ensuite with no problems. In 8 months of vacuuming our large single-storey home it has got stuck twice when it wedged itself between the toilet and wall. Initially, I did supervise the LG for a while to ensure that it cleaned the whole house but later found that where the LG has cleaned can be viewed from the app on the smart phone. After the LG had mapped the house it settled into a cleaning pattern and cleaned all of the rooms. I was quite amazed when I watched it clean our gym room. It wove in and out of the equipment without an issue and cleaned all of the accessible areas well. If the whole house isn’t fully cleaned because the battery is low the LG returns to base to recharge then resumes cleaning from the previous spot. It is important to allow the app to update regularly and always empty the dustbin and clean the brush-roller and filters regularly. Also, always start the LG from the base otherwise it might not find its way back home. If I had any unresolved issues with the LG it would be returned to Harvey Norman post-haste after my bad experience with the Samsung Powerbot VR9300.
Hi Cianna, thankyou for your reply. I did infact purchase the LG R9 Master as well in the end. But I'm not happy with it for the price. Sometimes it will start a clean which should take it 2 cycles of the battery to complete with recharging inbetween, however it will "think" it's completed the whole clean after 10 minutes of it leaving the base station. Plus I still have issues with it trying to throw itself off our stairs. Not so much when it's facing forward but it will spin itself around and try to go off backwards, which makes me not confident to leave it running without supervision as I'm not prepared for a machine this expensive to end up at the bottom on the stairs. We always do the updates. It always starts from the Base Station. I just think for the money it is just a waste and I'm sorry I purchased it.
Hi Robyn, I only just read your reply to my message. If I were you I would take the LG vac back, if you haven't already. It's too expensive to be landed with a 'lemon'. I had similar problems with the Samsung Powerbot and after it was finally inspected I was told that the computer that controls the vac was faulty from the beginning and would never have worked. Now I'm wondering if that particular component is used in other robot vacs:>( As far as my LG vac is concerned, so far so good. Time will tell:>)
RoboRock S7 Max is the best - it’s cleans and mops, worth every penny spent I have 2 off IRobot s9+ they were working fine after 2 years started error messages including bag full error even it’s only a quarter, then have to reboot it multiple times and clean the sensor.
LG R9 is the worst among the lot. Terrible battery, never return to the base, cannot clean, it’s a lemon - I have to service it every 4 months - I took the product care I think it’s a scam when comes to LG products.
