Fridge temp is set up to 5C and freezer -17C but actual temps are 12C and 3C. Any idea what's wrong? Thank you

I have had my GF- B590MBL for 6 months. 3 weeks ago I noticed water leaking from under the rear of the fridge. It would usually leak in the afternoons but not every day. The fridge itself seems to be working ok. It is not plumbed and has no water near it. The leaking stopped for about 2 weeks but it has started again. Any ideas about what could be causing water to leak?

Just putting it out there - Bought this model LG - GF-B730PL fridge from good guys around Feb 2022 and by May/June started having issues with fridge. The food started freezing the refrigerator ( not the freezer ). No matter where the food was placed they froze. foods like yogurt, leftovers of any kind, vegetables & fruits, eggs, coke. The temperature of the fridge at the time of issue was 3degree. So naturally thought to turn it up. went all the way to 7 but the food remained frozen and new item would freeze. Logged a fault with good guys and then come a LG tech and Mr LG man says you would only put meat and dairy products at 3 and that I should turn the temp up. The advertised optimum temp of the fridge was 3. Total useless tech visit. Logged two more faults and then came a private tech who said the cool air was blowing out from the freezer blow and the rubber seal was not thick enough to stop this and said this was a known issue with this model. He replaced the whole back panel and double sealed the vent. After this fix the issue sort of stopped on all foods but still some foods are freezing. Logged a complaint with LG and Good guys etc., now Is this a known issue with the model and can it be fixed completely or better to replace or change ? ?

Our GF-B590PL 2 door fridge is quite good but occasionally it develops this high pitched noise. It sound like to me as a bearing noise. Today it has been going for about 2 hours. There are no flashing light etc to indicate there is any faults. Your insight to this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Colin

Ours can be quite noisy but usually for shorter periods. Unfortunately we have had no support from LG as all 'service calls' are at our cost unless their technicians agree with us about issues. The call out fee we had to agree to be liable for was too high to be worthwhile.

I bought this fridge based on the sizes stated. Only to find that the fridge is too tall to fit in the space.

The space I have is 790 and stated height is 787. However, the fridge actually requires 810mm.

Is it possible to remove the wheels and Feet and will effect the performance and warranty of the fridge.

How do I do this?

Just bought one of these. Really quite noisy compared to our 5yo Samsung (& $800 cheaper). Anybody else finding this fridge noisy?

Hate the no auto close doors. Kids leave open all the time....

While LG states that the LG 594L French Door GF-B590 Series (Slim Width) it is designed for 85cm width fridge space (which is my fridge space), the fridge is 83.5cm and I'm concerned it won't be enough room for ventilation either side, as everywhere I read ( including CHOICE) have recommended 5cm clearance either side, could LG representative explain before I purchase please? I am concerned that the fridge will eventually breakdown from overheating. I have limited over head space also. Please advise the products suitability. Thanks JB

P R sent me this to reply, but your query is to LG and should be too. But it's a good question and they should be providing an answer to you or anyone else . Although I would have thought only the back of the unit should have more clearance... Ours is free standing in a fairly large room and we only had it a short while ago

Can you buy/insert additional shelves and door bins?

No idea, but the stores or LG should be able to help you better with this. Besides any free standing bins or containers that will fit in that fridge area will work I suppose. Mine is just under 600 and we don't see the need for any yet.

Yes. Double check the part is the exact one. Sometimes these sites can be a little confusing. Also check ebay because you can sometimes find someone selling second hand parts from their personal fridge. external link external link

Beware as colour film peels off their fridges and they are not interested in repairs.

I purchased a GF-B590MBL fridge from Harvey Norman, Midland WA. In November 2020. The problem is the plastic overlay on certain parts of the top doors is starting to peel off, my question is, is this a protector for certain areas of the doors and, can this be removed, already the it's starting to unsightly. Hi William, I have the same fridge and was having same concern on plastic overlay. It's alright that plastic overlay is getting peeled off. I removed all plastic overlay by myself to see real beauty, haha. so nothing to worry here, it's just kind of coating, to protect from accidental scratches.

Anil, Sorry I'm late getting back to you, but thanks. You would think that the manufacturer or the sales people would point this out and, let you know it's only a superficial protective cover and can be removed, which I haven't done yet. Cheers, William Lloyd.
