Yes a design flaw for sure. Everytime i used to fold the handle up it popped off the filter cover. It happened so often i now take great care and fitted some 100 lb fisshing line to mower and cover so it doesn't get lost.

It's not a design flaw. No trim defence, mines still good as new. Handle with care like a posti not a rigger/diesel mechanic.

Masport 470 wouldn’t start so I got a new filter and spark plug but the spark plug won’t go back in, goes to half way at best. Old one was very dirty and I tried to put it back to see how that would go but it didn’t work either. I tried a little WD40 but that only helped a little.

Brand new Masport 470 mower, 1st mow on a not overgrown lawn. Exact amount of correct oil and fresh fuel. Engine starts surging. Anyone else have this issue?

I believe Supercheap auto sell replacement cords. Masport manual will tell you how to replace it.

I am on my 2nd "MASPORT 470" from Bunnings which has 4 blades on a round disk and what a tough little beauty it is but it needs new blades and Bunnings Gladesville had no one in the Lawn Mower section who could advise which of the 5 different Masport replacement blades they stock would be suitable and when asking which Isle such and such is in (which they all know) their little machines could not advise which blades fit the "470"

The engine runs for a few seconds if I squirt some petrol into the spark plug hole. Therefore I think it is not getting fuel. How do I take apart the fuel tank etc. Instructions please

My 470 Mazport is 18 months old. I primed the pump 3 times prior to starting the motor and found that the petrol was leaking out of the red rubber of the pump. Where do I take it for warranty repair? I bought it at Bunnings.
