Also referred to as: MG ZS 2025 and MG ZS 2027.Driving 100km then the car looses engine power but all electronics work still. Engine light was blinking and battery light stayed on. Noise that was heard sounded like something caught in a fan like a pen or something. When testing it, it came up with two codes PO301 Cylinder 1 misfire PO197 Engine oil temperature sensor A circuit low.
Is there a way to cancel the 'five minute automatic turning off' of the entertainment system
Why is my mg zs petrol 2024 less noisy
Casually driving along in the 2025 mg zs essence and all of a sudden it sounds like i scraped something but no damage to the car at all and a msg pops up on screen for a split second faster then anyone can read
My MG ZS 2024 excite has a grinding noise when I start it. The noise lasts for about 5 seconds. I just had the service today and I need to take it back for a ‘sleepover’ so they can start it when it’s cold to check out the sound

Hi there. I have a 2025 ZS hybrid and was wondering how I can see the navigation in the drivers screen? When I first bought the car I remember seeing navigation prompts on the drivers screen but now that feature has gone. I tried this both on the MG navigation and via Apple play map mirroring. Any suggestion should be apppreciated. Thanks again
Don't think it's possible, MG, Apple and Android maps and the prompts have only ever appeared on the infotainment screen for me.
Hello. My puppy chewed the airbag cable under the driver's seat, and some other cable (no light on dashboard). I went to the dealership to get it repaired, but the earliest they could fit me was in 6 weeks. I took the car to an independent workshop, and the mechanic reconnected the wires and then hooked the car to the scanner and reset the error message.
Is that sufficient (and safe) way to deal with the issue? Should I take it back to the dealership to fix it their own way, which would mostly be replacing the harness, and would cost a lot of money (they will charge me about $120 for the inspection only). Would it affect the warranty (7 years warranty) if I didn't take it to the dealership?
Hi Baz, no idea as I don't work for MG, but I would do the same as you have and hope that it would not affect my warranty as no part was replaced, it was just repaired! You could mention it when you get your next service if concerned.
Thank you!
Is the emergency brake working only when it is a cruse control on?
i just took my brand new 2025 mg vibe back to the mg place i got it from a week after purchasing it , i wanted to trade it for the turbo one as this one is so poor powered andd when i drive it the accelerator starts skipping beats as. Though its going to run out of petrol and has trouble getting enough power to carry the size of the car , and they tried to say the one they sold me is only worth 17k now, i paid 23800 for the one i have now just a week ago ... is this right ??the one i wanted to get was $25990, 2024 turbo excite a discontinued demo car with 1000km on the odometer already ,mine has 230km an i just bought it a week ago from them?????what on earth ??? I also read that in the first 2 weeks of purchasing a new vehicle if you take it back to trade it in you should get almost all the money you paid for it back as it wont affect the cars value in first 2 Weeks but that wasn't the case here at all they did exactly what the internet said they would in regards to lowering my cars value to 17k i feel like the cars unsafe and i want either a turbo one or my money back i hadn't even test drive the car tet and it was subject to a test drive first but my first drive was the day i took it home??? Do i have any rights here with this??
No, you should have test driven the car before you agreed to purchase, you then had a 3 day cooling off period when you could change your mind, but you did neither, so I'm afraid you are stuck with your purchase or accept the dealer trade in value, just remember MG's do not hold their value, if you buy an MG, you are buying for the long term.
But it was subject to a test drive which i got to do on the day i took it home so legally this purchase wasn't binding until a satisfactory test drive had been done apon doing this is when i realised this car wasn't ok it was having engine /power issues and i felt very unsafe and now im afraid to drive it because i scared it will lose power while driving it when it starts to jerk and skip and struggle to get enough power to handle its weight so thats when i took back the car wanting to trade it for the turbo one and then all of the rest happened im legally entitled to a fair trade in on my 2week old vehicle which i bought from them a week prior to this situation i find your answer very uneducated and im sure a 2week old brand new car that u buy wont lose mu h value withing 2weeks if purchasing especially if its a faulty car
I did test drive it on the purchase contract it had special conditions " subject to a test drive " they had no cars to test drive so they did that on the purchase contract so that was my test drive how stupid are you being here , the car is not safe to drive how is this my problem or fault i spend this much money i expect a safe vehicle to drive not a problematic accident waiting to happen the next day after i took it home i test drive it for 100km which is when i noticed the engine problems i reported this to the sales consultant who sold the vehicle to me which is when i asked to trade it because i not want an unsafe car he let me test drive the turbo an i liked it until they tried to rip me off an take advantage of my situation all i done was buy a car which turned out faulty and dangerous to drive if your telling me that you think thats ok for mg to do to people and get away with it think again its against the law im taking this to fair trading and the accc and speaking to my lawyer also.
Stupidity is on your side, you paid the full amount of the vehicle before you had a test drive, good luck in court with that
It was still subject to a test drive paid or not paid that doesn't and shouldn't change my rights as a buyer
Does a 2022 ZST Vibe have a 4 speed automatic or CVT transmission?
The Core and Vibe are both CVT
Is there an upgrade for an all new Essence turbo for repositioning the brake and accelerator pedals They are in the middle side by side and my feet are getting caught on both at the same time Causes a real accidental acceleration
Hi everyone. I recently purchases a preowned 2022 ZST 1.3 turbo. it has 23000 on the clock and full serviced in MG. I have driven it for around 137km and notice that when at a full stop and then slowly letting go of the breaks i feel a little shake and hear a bit of noise in the engine but when i step on the gas it goes away. anyone experience this and knows what it is? i went to the dealership and tested a 2023 ZST with 10000km and it didn't sound like this.
Does anyone have a problem with the steering wheel adjustment? I would prefer the steering wheel to positioned closer to me but when I release the lever it only goes up and down and does not go closer or further. When I’m driving my arms feel stretched out as far as they can be. It’s not like I have short arms, they come down to my thighs. Is there any way to bring the steering wheel closer or have MG just skimped-out on this basic feature?
Just bought a 2023 MG ZS Excite. The aircon goes from refrigerated to not refrigerated, intermittent and inconsistent cooling. Two different car yards are telling me they can't get the car to fault. Can anyone back me up on this problem??
Howdy Kimi. I too have a similar problem (one of many!), only it goes from refrigerated to max heat in the blink of an eye. I live in FNQ so this causes instant fog-up - not safe in traffic, but the dealer where I bought says there's no problem. Another workshop says there's a fault, but it's with the exhaust manifest (whatever that means). MG silent on the matter as you can't actually contact them directly...Sorry to tell you these are not good vehicles. I wish you every bit of luck and success in getting your issue fixed, as it could progress to a dangerous situation such as mine. I have a phone number for MG Customer Service: 1800 825 324, and an email: mgcustomercare@smil.com. I've never had any luck with them, but perhaps you will!!
never had a problem so good luck with getting fixed. Had ojnefor 5 years now current one fora year
I know some of the general reasons why MG ZST the cruise control stops working. Can someone please let me know how to reactivate the cruise control with simple instructions. This is especially if all the doors have been completely closed in the car, I am travelling on windy roads but there are straight sections it normally operate, but today it stopped. How do l easily reactivate it. I tried everything. Any help would be great. Previous model cars I have driven such as different camry toyota models have never been an issue in any situation.
Here is a link to ZS/ZST Owners group which has many "How to" videos from MG gurus external link
I’ve had my ZST vibe for about 4 months now, it’s done about 1600km. I’m really struggling with the acceleration when at a stop. Living on GC so currently have aircon on anywhere from 3-6 everytime I drive. So with aircon on it’s really dangerous, I can’t get in between traffic and hold up traffic at lights. Have to turn aircon off at busy roundabouts. They said it’s the engine, there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m at my wits end. Anyone else experiencing it to this extent?
See response to Claire below, same issue
I see it now, thanks Rob!
Only had my ZST vibe 2024 for couple of months. I have the same issue with loss of acceleration when stopping to give way etc. I feel that it is quite dangerous when trying to get back into traffic lane after stopping when you have no acceleration to move as quickly as you'd expect. Took it back to Dealers, their mechanic tried something?? And now it's worse. Got told this is common with these models. If it's common then why hasn't MG rectified this?? Even with air conditioning off. Revs high and loud, slow acceleration and now jerky acceleration trying to get to 60km. Changed fuel to Premium 98RON, no change.
Hey! Thanks for your response! So when they said it's common, are they saying it's an issue that isn't meant to be happening? Yes mine revs all over the place. Extremely dangerous, when traffic is bad I get quite anxious. When I test drove the car it wasn't like this, Id notice if it was. My next thought was to try premium but won't bother if no change. What is the dealer doing about the issue now or are they wiping their hands of it?
Has anyone managed to find the fix to this problem? I bought my brand new (2025) ZST yesterday afternoon and I’ve had the same issue periodically, it has scared the life out of me. I called the dealer and he said that “it’s a new car, you need to break it in” and to also “stop looking for faults in the car” So I’m going to give it a few 100ks as I’ve only done 100 and see if this issue stops
We have had our ZST for 3 years and have experienced the regular lag on acceleration from a complete stop to struggling for speed when on the highway. I recently had serviced by our regular mechanic rather than the MG service centre on the GC and the lag has all but disappeared
Smart key not detected, keeps appearing on screen, when ignition is turned on or off.
Had alot of heavy rain lastnight and the engine light was on this morning. Went to run an errand then the car wouldn't turn on. Got it towed away to a service centre that couldn't take it anyway as they're booked out for 2 months! Went to the service centre, got the keys and started up the car. Well no engine light came on and now it seems fine. Had anyone else had a similar experience? My car is brand new and only 4 months old
