I would like to know what rating these have for Brisbane. I see a major supplier has 3.5 but on charts I have seen on netflix it is 4.5. Wondering if newer ones have that higher rating as I am still trying to work out what energy Australia is phasing out on energy compliance in 2025. Are they phasing out some rating system or labelling system.

What is the differrent between Mitshubishi MSZ-AP25VGD and Mitsubishi DXK09ZSA-W

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners   DM

Hello Andy, Thank you for your enquiry. We are in fact two separate companies! While Mitsubishi Electric manufacture other items such as fridges and hand dryers, we (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) focus on doing one thing well which is making high-quality, award winning air-conditioners.

We’ve been named by CHOICE as Australia’s best air conditioner brand five years in a row and Canstar Blue as having the most satisfied customers of any air conditioner brand for four years in a row – something we’re incredibly proud of and something we believe helps differentiate ourselves from our competitors.

On top of these awards, Finder have also rated us as the best split system brand in their latest retail awards. Our Avanti and Bronte split systems has also been named by ProductReview as the best split system air conditioner.

You can learn about our awards via the pages below. external link  external link  external link  external link

My air conditioner just started making this irritating undulating air sound, as if it is pushing air out at a regular interval instead of a constant release of air. Kind of like breathing. I don't think it is the air flow though, because the sound is masked when using it on a higher fan speed. We recently re-gassed and replaced the piping due to a dodgy install prior to us purchasing the property. At the same time, we had the Bronte 7.1kw installed in a different part of the house, and it is not making the same sounds. Any idea on what it could be?

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners   DM

Hi There, Without hearing the sound it's hard to determine what may be causing the issue. If the unit is under warranty, we'd suggest visiting the page below, filling your details in and we'll get a service agent to get in touch and organise a time to come and assess the unit.

If you have any further questions, you can contact us directly on 1300 138 007.

I have read there is an issue with the Avanti series air-conditioners making a clicking noise when running, and if a warranty claim were initiated Mitsubishi Heavy Industries would demand credit card details to charge the cost of a service call for this problem. Please comment on the clicking issue and the demand for a credit card.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners   DM

Hi Xian, While there have been a very small amount of customers that have reported a 'clicking sound' it is not a common issue and all instances of this issue has been quickly and easily rectified under warranty and at no cost to the customer.

Regarding the requirement for a credit card - this is standard practice for almost all service agents. Of course, if the unit is suffering from a manufacturing fault and is under warranty, you won't be charged.

Xiansheng
Xiansheng

I wouldn't give my credit card details as an open sesame for businesses to charge me at their will. If I were at fault in making an invalid request for warranty service, I would pay a bill if reasonable and not simply a means of bleeding customers. When making a request for warranty service I would clearly outline the symptoms of the fault, and discuss whether there were any steps I could take to ascertain that a warranty service wasn't appropriate. But after eliminating possible errors on my part in that discussion I would expect the warranty service call to occur without cost to me.

It amazes me that MHIAA would demand credit card details - open ended option to charge - for what is clearly a warranty call. This blog is helpful and having an influence on my decision as to which brand to select for my pending multiple unit purchase

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners   DM

Hi Korvin, Due to an increasing number of consumers not paying service agents for work they have carried out, many service agents (many of which work for multiple brands, not just MHIAA) simply ask for credit card details in advance to ensure they can receive payment for the call out in the highly unlikely event that the fault reported is not covered under warranty (IE: physical damage, incorrect use, etc.). This is a standard procedure for many service agents and brands. Service agents do not have an 'open ended option' to charge.

While we do our absolutely best to try and troubleshoot the issue with consumers over the phone, as with any large appliance (TV, fridge, washing machine, etc.) only a service agent physically inspecting and testing the unit can confirm the fault and what has caused it.

If you were to have any issues with your unit, we would go through various troubleshooting on the phone and then organise for a service agent to attend. If the unit is under warranty, you would of course not be charged anything.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us on 1300 138 007

Xiansheng
Xiansheng

I simply would not provide a credit card, because it IS an open ended opportunity to charge, despite what MHIAA say. For me if it were a choice between providing a credit card or telling the service agent to go to hell and installing a different manufacturer's product, I would choose the latter. If the service agent were in possession of the card and a dispute about payment arose, the agent would make a charge and leave it to the customer to dispute it, relying on the fact that most people would accept the charge and move on. I wouldn't give them that opportunity. I have had two prematurely failed LG ac units in the last yer, and in neither case did I provide an agent with a card. I placed LG on my never buy again list and bought other makes, without the installer asking for payment in advance. Incidentally this makes me aware that MHIAA will not supply to me in future due to their credit card policy/perspective.

Hi, We had our new reverse cycle a/c unit fitted in December 2019 and was really quite on low speed cooling during the hot summer nights. Recently on the same setting, we are now hearing a intermittent clicking type noise and it’s really annoying and now keeps my wife and I awake at night when the noise starts. It’s a rotational clicking noise, like something faulty with the fan inside the indoor unit. I have a couple of videos and you can clearly hear the noise. The company who supplied and fitted the unit are sending out a technician this week, Thursday 13th February 2020, hopefully it can be rectified. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be, it’s so annoying but intermittent Cheers, Steve.

Yep, mine's a few weeks old and the indoor clicking was from the get-go. MHI Warranty process is interesting - have to sign a waiver that you pay for a service call if not warranty and then their Service Agent asks for the same thing and credit card details and payment on the spot if it's deemed non-warranty. if I knew I would never have bought this unit - should have read product review.

Steve R
Steve R

Hi Alitwino. Wow, I’ve never heard of that before for a warranty! I will call them now I’ve read your post, I was going to do a online warranty request but I’m not signing a waiver and giving my credit card details. How did you get on or haven’t they been out to check your indoor unit yet? The people who installed our system actually installed a different model than we were originally quoted. They didn’t tell us they fitted a different model, it was only when I checked the model number against the one they quoted via email. When I called them up to see what was going on, they told me I have actually be given a upgraded/more expensive unit and was quieter and more reliable than the one quoted, they said we would still only have to pay for the original/cheaper unit quoted. Make me wonder if anything strange is going on with these units! I checked reviews before we purchased our system but obviously was looking at reviews for the original unit quoted and didn’t see any bad reviews! Cheers, Steve.

Hi Steve, the MHI online form forces one to sign a waiver if it's not considered a warranty issue, which I did otherwise they won't do anything. Then their local service agent sends their terms and conditions that also demands credit card details and payment on the day if not a warranty issue. Personally, I think it's unconscionable to force a consumer to enter into a 2nd contract and that 2nd party makes the call whether it's warranty or not and demands instant payment - wonder what Consumer Affairs would say. I thought that by law MHI as the manufacturer has to provide the advice on warranty. Anyhow, I didn't signup the service agent and contacted MHI through their Facebook page with a sound recording - they say they make contact in 2 days - we'll see, but seriously unimpressed. MHI obviously follow this site but haven't made any comment here yet. If they go quiet on me then I'll take a different path.

here's an email for MHI I found on another very recent review where faulty ticking was experienced - may help others marketing@mhiaa.com.au https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/mitsubishi-avanti-srk25zsa-w

'alitwino' is somehow a different log-in for 'our little freddie' on different computers but we are one and the same - strange, ours has stopped ticking now and quiet as a mouse for 2 nights in a row - so will have to cancel the service call for now as nothing to hear, but I have recordings and a video if it re-occurs..

I have had6a Mitsubishi Avanti 2.5/3.2 unit for less than a year. It's supposed to be quiet (19 dB) on the lowest fan setting but it's making a continuous kind of clicking noise, which is really annoying at night. Is this normal? What could it be.

Hi Brian, Sorry to hear of the issues you're having. While the unit will product some noise, it shouldn't be disturbing you. I'd suggest taking a video and sending this to us via our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MHIAustralia/) so we can pass onto our technical team for assistance.

Hi Glen. I’m new here and have just submitted a post about our a/c indoor unit making, what sounds like the same noise as Brian is complaining about. Do you have any ideas what it is, it’s definitely not a normal noise? Cheers, Steve R .

I also have a SRK25ZSA which also has the annoying clicking noise from the indoor unit. Installed Nov 2019 in a spare bedroom, which we have just moved into with winter coming on - may have been noisy since installed, but only been used a couple of times since installed. I'd be interested if Glen, Steve R & others had their units fixed.

Hi Christine - The sound level of the indoor unit depends on the fan speed setting however, on the lowest fan speed setting the SRK25ZSA-W reads at 19 dB (A). You can learn more under the 'specifications' tab here - external link

Hi Mitsubishi Team,

I would like to know the product specification, sound and weight of the external units for SRC25ZSA-W 2.5 KW and SRC80ZRA-W 8KW air conditioners. We are planning for one 8KW for living about 100sqm and two 2.5 KW for 12-16Sqm rooms.

Please advise of any place for reviews and product spec for these models

Hi, just to note, I can't find any info on the noise ratings for the Avanti series on the pages that those links take me to. There is no 'specifications' tab on those pages and the user manual does not have any noise ratings.
