However I have a question about the bottom drawers. I thought they were both freezers, not a crisper. Am I able to lower the temp so that it can be used as a freezer, not soft freezing. My fingers are crossed that I can..
In regard to the soft freezer draw Is L a warmer temperature than H?
How much wall clearance is needed at the back of the fridge?
You can push the fridge right back if the powerpoint is higher that the fridge otherwise the plug will not allow it we got round this by adding a power-board with a very flat wall plug and plugging the fridge into that
I have the fridge push right back and plug in high up, alternatively you can plug in on the side
Does the fridge stay at 4C on medium setting? One review stated they had to set fridge at maximum to obtain 4C. This would not be economical . I’m having this issue with another brand and am having to replace it.
How often can I empty the ice cube tray? I mistakenly thought that the automatic ice maker would empty the ice cube tray but it doesn't and none of the instructions mention pushing out the ice cubes into the the storage area.
The problem fixed itself.
According to the specs, the depth is 699 or 709 with leg cover. What is the leg cover?
It is just a plastic click on strip at the bottom front to hide the adjustable legs under the fridge. You use these to level the fridge in position then click the cover on.
Hi John, Bruce is correct (Thanks Bruce) in answering your question about the leg cover. This is the additional 10mm difference. Mitsubishi Electric
Hi there, I read a review that said the top french doors of this model don't open wide enough for easy access. Can you please clarify how wide they actually do open? Is it less than 180 degrees?? Thanks, Suzie
The doors open to about 145 degrees each side. I have the larger 700 litre model and the larger door opens to about 90 degrees because it is next to a wall. There is plenty of room to access the inside of the fridge with the doors open as described. The smaller 470 would be same just a bit narrower. Go to a retail supplier and check if it is convienient. Hope that helps.
Thanks Graeme. I am pretty much housebound so am trying to suss it all out before I buy any fridge online. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer my query!
Hi Suzie, In the downloads section on the product web page [https://www.mitsubishielectric.com.au/product/470l-multi-drawer-fridge-argent-silver/] for this model is the Outlines and Dimensions file (current version:https://www.mitsubishielectric.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/OAH187-rev-Part_MR-WX470F_Outlines-Dimensions.pdf)
You can see in the bottom right-hand corner the "Required space for installation" which shows the angles the doors open.
Hope that helps.
Kind Regards, Mitsubishi Electric Australia Support
Hi there - when we first used the fridge the energy stars that would display after you closed the doors would usually be at least 2 or 3 stars. now it is generally only one star. our use of the fridge hasn't changed much at all so i wonder what might have caused that?
It depends on your usage (e.g if you open the fridge frequently) and also on your settings. We put all compartments on medium (M) and chose energy saving option and would frequently receive 3 stars rating. Busy days where the fridge get open a lot it may go down to 2 stars or 1 but most day the rating is 3 stars.
We purchased the 470L model - I’m having trouble with the versa drawer. In the manual it says you can use the soft freeze function allowing you to cook food without thawing. On the lowest setting approximately -5 meat is still frozen solid, requiring defrosting overnight in the fridge. I have checked the settings am I missing something?
Hi Sharma, we have the 700L model and it also freezers everything hard, but this is not an issue for us as we use this drawer as a freezer. Regards Kevin
Exactly my issue - I don't think soft freeze is a thing - it might also be dependant on the size of the item and whether its placed on the metal plate directly
I have mislaid my manual for the above fridge. Please could you send me another one? The fridge is superb and certainly the best fridge I have ever owned and I am 84 years old! My address is: Mrs M Forbes, 11 Freesia Crescent, Kingston, Tasmania 7050.
Hi Mary, My fridge is a 700L and is totally different to yours. Kevin
If the fridge is against a solid wall, how much space is needed beside the fridge for the door to open to 90 degrees and can you still adjust shelves with the door at 90 degrees?
I own this fridge yet nothing fits in the door compartment as its split and the width is too small. Can you purchase separate compartments to hold larger bottles?
I can fit bottles on one side. The very bottom drawer I use for a filtered water jug and other bottles.
Yes, use the Botton draw if you can and if you need your drinks cooler use ice out of the ice draw…
