Hi, our right hand fridge door has this 'clicking' near the bottom of the hinge once opened about 1/4 of the way and now the door doesn't want to stay open as it used to. How would I fix this? Kind regards, Ben.
Hi Ben, Were the doors removed to enable you to get the fridge into the house and the kitchen? If so, they might not be seated correctly. Our Technical Support should be able to assist. You can call us on 1300 651 808.

Hi
We have a Grande french door fridge when they first came out. We have recently moved and in the move the right hand side bottom drawer has a dent line from top to bottom where something in the move rubbed on it slightly. Is there anyway that I can get the door replaced?
sure go to the fridge repair shop?
One of our door handles has come off it's fixing, (the screw has come loose & fallen out as well), how can I re-fix it?
Hi. Bianca I'm sorry I really can't help you. I think this maybe a job for Mitsubishi. Perhaps they can advise how to replace or send someone to do it for you. I would be contacting their customer service department.
Once again sorry I'm not able to help.
God luck

Bianca, I agree with Stefe
Hello, we purchased the grande 710 model 8 months ago and always seem to have a smell in it when we open the doors, even when we came home from holidays and nothing had been in the fridge to smell. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
Hi Vicky Sorry it's taken me so long to answer Have been busy and not really checking emails. To answer your question I have a very poor sense of smell but I'm sure if there was an odour my husband would have commented. Our fridge seems to be fine.
Regards
Stef
Only two months later :) - Yes, ours seems to have a strange smell when we open the doors, some days are worse than others. I've put a small container of bicarb in there today, maybe that will help.
Hi there, Did you manage to resolve your odour problem. I've not had my fridge 2 years and this is the third time I have a disgusting odour made worse if the doors aren't frequently opened. I am forced to apologies to visitors it is that offensive and I'm not impressed.
I have had my fridge abt 6 months & have come home after 1 month away & my fridge smells terrible. I could not find anything off in it. I have taken out everything cleaned it and left it empty & it still smells. Did anyone solve this problem or contact the manufacturer.
Not long after taking delivery of our fridge, the left hand refrigerator door dented the front of right hand door at the top. We found that the plastic catch inside the top right door flicks out and then shuts on the right hand door front if we are not careful opening and closing. Also the rubber seal was damaged in this way too, by the catch cutting through the right hand side rubber seal. Is this a design fault?

Hi June, I suggest you get in contact with the customer service of the shop where you bought the fridge. I am pretty sure they will answer all of your questions effectively.

Hi June, I have only had this fridge for approx. a month. I'm not sure but I think what you're referring to is the flap on the left hand door that automatically folds back when the door is open and folds out when shut. I don't think it's a design fault but if this flap is pulled out when the door is open and you try to shut the door, it will connect with the right door and possibly do some damage. Perhaps there is a fault with yours where the flap is not folding back as it should. I would be contacting Mitsubishi and checking with them. Sorry I can't be of more help but as I mentioned I haven't had mine for very long and it seems to be working normally.
Good luck, I hope you get your problem solved.
Regards
Stefe
This design was invented by Fisher Paykel and was so successful that everyone else copied them. when you open the door the flap goes into correct position for closing. If somehow you have pulled the flap into closed position it will bang on the door. It is just a simple matter of being aware. Something that my wife is capable of doing "every time"....... In our shop kids often reverse the position of the flap. We make an effort to mention it to customers to avoid any issues.
Hi Guys, I have the same fridge and i have had a problem with this flap since day 1. first i added a little lubricant and it seemed to be ok. then after about 3 months later the same thing started happening. I have had a good look at the situation and i think that there should be a magnet to hold the flap from opening when the door is opened. even if your fridge is ok now i beleive that in time the spring at the bottom of the door will become weak and will need replacing. I am very upset about the poor design that mitsubishi has released. The reason i picked mitsubishi is that i now there air con units are number 1. I hope that they can come up with a better solution for the door problem as i think there reputation is at stake.
Hi June,
did you manage to resolve the dent issue and flap issue via Mitsubishi. I have the same problem and a guest while closing door did not realise the flap was open. that caused a dent in the right hand door.
We have owned our Mitsubishi fridge for approx 2 years now and are extremely happy with it. About 3 months the little clips which hold the ice tray in the freezer section broke off from the sides of the freezer. These little clips are moulded on to the sides of the freezer at the front and the tray slides over it on both sides to hold it up and in place. The problem is that the tray no longer stays in its correct position which in turn effects all the trays underneath it. Yesterday we went to the fridge and the door had not closed properly as a result and there was a build up of ice over all the drawers and sides of the freezer (visitors!). I imagine at some point the ice tray has not been slid in properly and hence the drama. My question is, what can we do to rectify this situation? I can't imagine we can even replace a the pieces that are broken off and I also can't see that we could add anything to the tray either. Can you please help?
Gidday , i had a good look at our freezer tray and the clips that you mention on ours are on the tray itself , if it the other way round and it is the fridge itself that is broken you can ring mitsubishi support and if you tell them the model number they will have these parts , it looks a reasonably straight forward job to replace the part inside the fridge . If you look at the top of the compartment there is 4 screws that will let you take out the section that is broken and replace it . If it is the ice tray itself you should be able to purchase a new one . I suspect as they are a newish fridge you will only get the part from mitsubishi themselves , i have had a look at other parts suppliers but wasn`t able to find parts for these fridges , so just try mitsubishi direct. If you ring a repairman that`s what they will do but they will add on their fee aswell so give it a go
cheers
Hi Maz, Sorry to hear about your issues with this fridge. The possibility of replacing the broken part depends on what it is exactly. To enable our technical team to work out the best solution it would help if you could give us a call on 1300 651 808. We would like to try and help to fix this problem for you.
Kind regards,
Mitsubishi Electric Australia Support.
We had the same problem and they replaced our fridge, we are on our 3rd one now the first fridge the freezer broke then the ice tray Now the fridge lights aren't working, we will never again buy from them Mitsubishi. We didn't go through the manufacture we went back to where we brought and made it happen.
Is this Refrigerator got Freezer Lights?
No, Raj, it doesn't but the front of the drawers are clear plastic which allows you to see what is contained. We are very happy with our fridge.
Hi Raj,
Just to confirm what Mark and Velma have said, this model does not have a light in the freezer.
Kind regards,
Mitsubishi Electric Australia Support
Is there any way of replacing the vertical black strips on the stainless version? I find they stand out too much.
I agree. They make me think the door is always open. I've got used to them now. Did you try contacting Mitsubishi customer service.
Hello, I'm looking at the current new model MR-L710EG-ST-A, depth has been a concern. I've seen references to 76.4cm as well as 82cm, what is the correct depth of the actual fridge, dont care if handles stick out. Thank you.
You are correct, the depth is 76.4 cm.
the 820 measurement includes allowance for the door handles and electrical cord (as per the Specifications on the Mitsuibishi web site
The crisper in our Grande only keep veggies crisp for a few days while our old F&P kept them fresh for 5-7 days. We've played with the humidity control but to no avail. Help.

HI Mitsubishi.
I have just watched your commercial with fast eddy explaining all the benefits of the L4 Grande and he says the door will close automatically if left open. Are you saying that this is incorrect?
Katrina
He does NOT say "if left open". Listen to it again. It has an automatically closing hinge system and a damping unit coming into operation within a certain distance to closure. There is no such thing as a fridge door closing automatically "if left open", this would be unpleasant and potentially dangerous.
No he does not say "if left open" he says "the L4 features a smart door automatic closer, meaning the refrigerated doors will close by themselves when left half closed". Do you have one of these fridges? and if so what do you not like about it? katrina
Yes I do have the L4 Grande. It is the best french door fridge in the world.
Bought a 710 L4 0n23/12/2014 . freezer works perfectly but refrigerator section will only cool down to about 9 degrees celcius. Can anyone help?
Make sure you are using a digital thermometer (Jaycar sells them). Also depending on where you place it you will get slightly different readings, as the bottom shelves are colder as cold air stays lower. After you have loaded your groceries use "Super-Cool Freezing" function, which gives a burst of cold. Also I set it at about 1.0 - 2.0 degrees and it is perfect.
had the fridge for 10 days now .Coldest it has got down to is 5.1 degrees. Have it set at .4 degrees
Set it at 1 or 2 or 3 degrees...too easy
Have it set at 0.4. Maybe I was not clear in my memo
Hi sagab_99. I have the same problem with my new L4Grande. I've got the refrigerator set to 1° and it only achieves an internal temperature of 5° on a "digital thermometer". Have you managed to rectify this fault yet? The freezer works perfectly tho, set at -18° and has an internal temperature of -18°
our local fridge mechanic supplied a temperature Data Log which recorded temps for 2 or 3 days . This proved that temp was not correct and are now in negotiations for a replacement fridge
ried from a low of 4.0 degrees to a high of 5.3 degrees.Mechanic is in talks with Mitsubishi for a replacement fridge as apparently no parts can be replaced to fix the problem.
K.Sandy do you have any more handy hints about the temperature control . I do agree that the door handles can be taken off . The centre facing portion of the handle supports can be gently removed to expose the bolts securing the handles to the doors .
I am guessing that you are measuring air temperatures rather than food temperatures. Food has mass and will retain coldness even when there are swings in the interior air temp of the fridge. I just ran a check on my fridge using a probe thermometerr. I found that the air temp was around 6.111-C but the probe registered 2.7778-C to 4.444-C when placed in liquids, jams, jellies, etc. depending on WHICH shelf or bin it was in and whether it was in the front or back or in a deli drawer.) You might get a better idea of how well or poorly your fridge is working by putting that thermometer in a glass of water and see: (a) how long does it take to cool the water to 38F and, once cooled, then see how much variation you are getting in the water temps.
The reason for placing a thermometer in a glass of water when monitoring refrigerator temperature is to eliminate the reading swing that may occur when the door is opened and warmer room air comes in to replace the cold air that falls out.
The unit's thermostat or temp sensor reads the interior temperature at its given location within the space, although some electronic designs can involve more than one sensor. There can be variances at different spots within the space. Control of the temperature is accurate to whatever is the engineered tolerance of the mechanical thermostat or electronic sensor (thermistor).
My apologies, "I found that the air temp was around 6.111-C", was a typo. Should read 5.111-C. Also regarding the water test: (a) how long does it take to cool the water to 3.333-c and, once cooled, then see how much variation you are getting in the water temps.
Hi guys We had the same problem - new 710 only got to 6 degrees when set at 1. The same jaycar thermometer measured 0.2 degrees in my old fisher and paykel fridge so I knew it was a fault. Mechanic came out and replaced the circuit board in the back. No difference. Mitsubishi said they had not heard of other faults and suggested we replace the fridge. Harvey Norman swapped is a new one - but I note it has a slightly different model number 710 EG - the G is the different bit. It also says inverter on the badge on the front which is different. Delivered yesterday and 1.1 degrees this morning when set at 1. Apparently there were 3 out of 11 sold returned due to the same problem. I wonder if Mitsubishi has quietly fixed the problem with a subtle model change ?
Fridge mechanic replaced some part .as recommended by Mitsubishi . Did the temp Data Log again[temp recorded every 3 minutes]temp still only getting down to 3.5 celcius.Data Log shows temp variations such as doors open, defrosting cycle etc. very clearly.I just want the fridge to be at the internal temp corresponding to the setting on the indicator on the door.
It's disappointing that Mitsubishi knows there's a problem yet still make you jump thru hoops when you have a faulty fridge of theirs. Happy you got urs sorted tinytinyj. Im sorry K Sandy. I understand where ur coming from but when the air temp is 5° the surrounding items will only achieve 5°. My thermometer logs min and max for a 24hr period and after 8 hrs of operation without opening the door the fridge only achieves a min of 5° while being set on 1°. You can clearly see me and sagab_99 have faulty fridges and others too.
The fridge I was replacing due to size upgrade only, achieves min and max levels of 0° and 1° so our thermometers ain't wrong.
Some people like things colder and would like the temperature setting to reflect the internal temperature for which they brought the fridge for.
Currently I would not trust my new fridge with keeping certain food/ drink items safe
Mike
Sagab_99 and Mike, it's a loose connection at the back of the fridge which is related to the temp sensor. It appears it comes loose during transport.Call the Mitsubishi hotline they will send a technician out to check and reconnect.
Fridge mechanic did as instructed by Mitsubishi.Made very little difference. Problem not solved.Have been told by salesperson that Mitsubishi rep to contact me directly.Still waiting for this contact.
Sagab, you mentioned the temp only goes down to 3.5. Just curious was the thermometer placed towards the rear of the shelf near the vents or was the reading taken in the middle or front of the shelf. If these readings are from the back near the vents then I encourage you to keep calling them and get them to explain to you what should be happening in the refrigerator environment vs what is actually happening with your fridge..Let us know how you go.
K.Sandy
The temp was taken on the 3rd shelf down close to the back
Sagab, I'm looking at getting the G model. Could you tell me which model/series you have bought please? Is it the L or G series? Thanks
Fab;our model is MR-L710E-ST-A, I would wait for the MR-L710EG-ST-A model before you buy.
Fab;our model is MR-L710E-ST-A, I would wait for the MR-L710EG-ST-A model before you buy.Bing Lee said they have got the ok to replace our E model with the EG model when they are in stock.
Mike ; How did you go with your sub performing fridge.Did you get a replacement unit.
Sagab_99
How is your new fridge performing? How is it compared to the previous one?
K.Sandy
At this stage we are still waiting for the replacement .
Hi sagab_99. Our fridge was replaced with the EG model and is working perfectly. All the best when you get ur replacement
Hello People,
We get our replacement EG model on Monday, 30/3/2015.Will give you a report on how it performs.
Hello People We did get our replacement fridge on Monday 30/03/2015 and are very pleased to say that it is performing wonderfully well . 1.0 degrees on the display is 1.0 degrees in the fridge . Must say again that I am very happy with it.
Good to hear Sagab_99. So your digital thermometer is showing a stable 1.0 degree when set to 1.0 degree and not swinging between temperatures as was the case with the old one?
Hi, my door opening is 810mm. Will it fit through?
The specs show fridge with handles on is 805mm. So you have 5mm to play with. As a backup, be prepared to take your entrance door off (easily done with a cordless). In extremely tight situations the fridge handles wil also need to come off (again easy). Always accurately measure your entrance and take your tape measure to the store and measure the fridge. It's also a good idea to mention to the salesperson at time of purchase so delivery guys can expect a possible delay and allow extra time.
If your door off is not enough, the handles cannot be removed. You need to remove the doors themselves. This is very easily done but you need to be careful of the wiring that crosses inside the cover of the top left hand hinge. Unplug the loom, remove doors, reattach doors, plug in loom and job is done. Make sure fridge is *level* before you reattach to make it easier to bet doors square again. We had to do this as hall door was narrower than front door and all went fine.
Bomber, the fridge door handles do come off. You will be need to take the screw covers off. The covers are a small square shape at the side base of the door handles (total of 8 covers). I was shown this by the guy at 2nds World and that's how I was able to get the fridge into the house.
Couldn't find the door handle covers, but it's pretty easy to take the doors off.
Do the doors automatically close on the MR-L710E-ST-A?
No, the doors do not automatically close.
As per the response from Mitsubishi, the doors don't close automatically. However, they do sound an alarm if left open too long or not properly closed. The door seals are very good on all four doors.
Hi there, my instruction book says that they do, but we have set the fridge up so that it is level so they they don't unfortunately. . I queried Harvey Norman where we bought it and they told me that if you have the front tilted slightly higher than the back, the doors will close automaticly. hope this helps.
If door slightly ajar it will shut automatically. If door left open more than 1 min the alarm will sound
I am not aware of any fridge that has "fully" automatic doors on the market. The doors of the L4 Grande refrigerator will close automatically when the doors are half closed. I'll say it again...a 5 year warranty (Mitsubishi) & reliability beats these fancy schmancy gadgets that need constant service calls, any day!
