Hi, I have a question about the Mountain Buggy Nano Carrycot/Bassinet attachment. I’m wondering whether it can be collapsed flat to fit inside a large suitcase or does it have hard walls? From what I can see online it doesn’t appear to fold down flat, so even though the nano pram is a good lightweight option to take on a plane I’m thinking the newborn carrycot won’t be too easy to travel with? Thanks.

Hi!
I know there are answers to this question on the forum - however they were answered years ago. I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with taking the nano as carry onto Qantas.
Thanks!

Hi Kat and thanks for your question. As all airlines have different policies, it is best to check with Qantas before flying. MB x

Can someone please tell me the height of the back of the seat itself on the Nano 2 (bum to top of seat, not including head height to the hood)
Thank you.

I realise this is an old question but I needed to know this too.
My mountain buggy nano V2 seat measures 44-45 cm high depending on how firmly I dig the tape measure into the seat pad.
Seat in layback position - head butting up against mesh at 45 cm.
Seat upright to head touching closed canopy 68cm.
Hope that helps someone else

What do you prefer between mountain buggy nano and babyjogger city tour?

Has anyone else had a issue with the shoulder strap clips opening up on the nano V2? My daughter always pulls herself forward and on 2 occasions almost fell put she was just hanging by her legs but I'd luckily caught her.

Has anyone taken this on board as Carry On with Jetstar domestically? I know it technically doesn't fit their dimensions, but I swear I saw someone do it once.

I have taken it on board with Jetstar, Virgin and Fiji Air multiple times.

Has anyone used the nano in Bali? Was it suitable? Is the sun canopy SPF?

Has anyone had it rejected as cabin luggage Syd to Bali on Jetstar? Thanks

My daughter has the nano. Brought it to Singapore but it was on Singapore Airline. No problem as check in as hand luggage. Not sure about jeststar as it is a budget airline. Suggest you call them but make sure you ask for confirmation To prevent any problem when you check in at the airport.

Has anyone used the mountain buggy nano for a child about 6kg? He is 4.5 months, I know it's ment for 6 month plus, but we are travelling and don't really know what to get? None of the small ones layback all the way and also sit up. Unsure what to do . He still sleep three times a day.

Personally . I'd probably go for a yoyo (yoya is relica you can get from AliExpress about $200) or maclaren ( age 0+ ) but you can't take Maclaren onboard with you which is a pain sometimes.

I love my nano but I don't think its suitable for tiny bubs due to flimsy looking harness.

I have a 6.5kg 4 month old and she is definitely not ready for our nano. Not comfortable at all for such a small Bub, it doesn't recline enough

Thanks!

I went for the yoyo in the end and figure he will grow soon, might just have to watch how much time he spends in it.

Has anyone had any issues with a taller child in the nano? We tried it in the store and when we reclined it, his head was surrounded by the mesh.

Hi all, if I was to try to take this stroller as carry on for a domestic Virgin or Qantas flight. Do I need to mention that I have a stroller when i am checking in my other luggage? Or should I deal with the decision of whether it will be accepted at the gate? Kind regards felicity

I just took two domestic and two international Jetstar flights with absolutely no issues. Compared to some people's GIANT carry on luggage, this pram looks tiny, especially if you take the wheels off too. If they see you with an infant they'll probably ask if you're checking in a stroller at the gate, but just tell them it folds down to carry on size. Remember it forms part of your carryon allowance, so you can only take one other small bag - but you can stow a fair bit of stuff in the carry bag with the pram (e.g. a whole 30 pack of nappies).

I want to buy the nano for pur Europe trip, our daughter is 17 kg and 2.5 years old.

I'm a little confused that the stroller is designed for the plane overhead storage but it doesn't meet the carry on luggage dimensions.

Also reading some reviews worried about getting to the gate and not being allowed to carry onto plane? Any ideas?

Best advice is to actually phone the airline you're going to fly with and ask if the accept the mountain buggy as carry on luggage. We flew on Saturday to New Zealand with Emirates. The lady at the check in desk said that they accept the Babyzen yoyo as carry on luggage for the overhead locker. I didn't ask about the mountain buggy as I don't own any of these two brands of strollers. Hope that helps you. Enjoy your trip

Hi has anyone travelled internationally or domestically with this stroller as carry on luggage with jetstar?

Sarah
Sarah

We travelled from Hobart to Melbourne without a problem. But at Melbourne airport on the way home I made the mistake of folding it up at the gate. They saw me do it and made me put it in the suitcase rack to see if it would fit-it didn't... They tried to make us check it in but we argued that it is designed to go on board and it fits in the overheads and they eventually let us. But...the dimensions of the Nano are actually bigger than Jetstar state their allowance is, so they were right, but it does fit. Makes me nervous to travel again, which is what it is designed for.

Thanks Sarah didn't ended up taking it :(

Can this be classified as carry on luggage on Virgin and Qantas?

Hi there. It is up to the flight crew on each airline as to what they allow as carry on luggage, however customers have told us that both these airlines have been happy for the nano to be taken on board. MB x

Had no problems with the mountain buggy nano carry on travelling business class qantas to or from Melbourne or Auckland. But was told in Sydney at the check in desk travelling to Melbourne I had to check it in because they have different rules to other ports and only allow the yo-yo zen onboard. That was really annoying with a toddler and 2 kids in tow.

Can you safely attach a buggy board to a nano for a toddler? If so are there specific types?

Mountain Buggy
Mountain Buggy   DM

Hi there. Yes our Mountain Buggy freerider buggy board attaches to the nano. It's ideal for a toddler and can be used attached to the nano or as a stand alone scooter. Here is a link to the freerider information page on our website - external link  MB x

What stroller organizer fits this pram? I was considering the Brica Stroller Organizer.

NCherie
NCherie

I have a Diono Buggy Buddy which fits but isn't the greatest if transporting take-away coffee. It difficult to say if the brica one would fit - if it's the 'plus' version is say yes. I got the Diono one because it's not rigid and when I collapse the pram it can still close completely.

Could someone please inform me if AirAsia has approved it as a carry on luggage? Thanks

Mountain Buggy

Hi there. AirAsia has not officially approved the nano however customers have told us that they have taken the nano on AirAsia flights as carry on luggage with no issue. However please keep in mind that it is up to the crew working that day. MB x

Could someone please inform me if the Nano can be laid back in sleeping position as well? And also if KLM has approved it as a cabin luggage? Thank you so much!

Milly21
Milly21

It does not lay flat (recommended for 6months+) but flat enough for a nap.

I don't know about KLM. Jetstar has refused it as cabin luggage for me on one leg and accepted it on the return leg.

Chickadee
Chickadee

The Nano doesn't fully recline to a flat position but it does recline enough to make it suitable for sleeping. Re KLM, not sure but we had no problems with Luthansa, Qatar, Emirates and Qantas if we demonstrated that it folded compactly into its cover. To be sure, we removed the front wheels and stored them with the stroller.

Thank you so much for your answers! :-) I just purchased my Nano yesterday and after giving it a try in the babyshop I loved it! So did my baby, as a first view! :-) The front wheels can be easily removed, it is quite light and easy to manover. I love the shopping tray under, large enough for my needs :-) and all in one very comfy! :-) Looking forward to use&enjoy it a loooong time,on travel as well as on shopping trips around town! Cheers :-)

We are from Switzerland and are visiting Australua. I thought we are the only ones where the front wheel keeps locking!! We bought our Nano in the UK in May 2014. Where in the Melbourne area can we get thus fixed?
