Nobo Oslo Panel Heater Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi , I still can't figure out how to display the ambient room temp on my app. I can set the room temp etc but can't see what the actual room temp is. I've read all the manuals etc. thanks
Good morning Daryl. Thank you for your enquiry and contacting Nobo. Can you please provide your email address so I can get some further information . I will contact you directly. Thank you Nobo
Thank you Daryl. I will be in contact with you shortly
Hi Daryl Are you using the ECS app or the Capa Connect
It's the Nobo Energy app. I tried the Capa app but I could connect it. The numbers on the back of the heater didn't seem to work. Is the ESC app different again? Thanks
Couldn't connect it
I see the ESC is the Nobo app. My Hub flashes green but I can't seem to update it, not sure if this is the issue. I have 2 x 2kwh heaters and they are super good at heating the room. These are at a holiday house. I have them set on 7deg for frost protection during winter months. It would be good to know what the actual room temperature is. Thanks for your very quick replies.
thank you I will get back to you shortly Daryl
Hi Daryl Unfortunately the ECS app doesn't show the ambient temperature of the room sorry Regards Sharron
Is it allowed to mount Oslo heater under the TV set ? The distance is about 65 cm , but the TV gets warm when the heater is on Thanks !
Good morning Alona Thank you for reaching out to Dimplex regarding your panel heater. We do not recommend placing the heater directly under the television. It should be a minimum of 1m from the air outlet on top of the heater. Please refer to the manual as well. Page 4 available online WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, soft or hard furnishings or any other flammable or heat sensitive material a minimum distance of 1m from the air outlet on the top of the heater. Keep combustible materials such as drapes and other furnishings clear from the front, sides and rear of the heater. Hope this helps you with your question. Kind regards Nobo Dimplex Team
Hello, can you advise why this heater cannot be mounted vertically?
Hi Tea, thank you for reaching out to us. As the air outlet is at the top they are designed to be mounted horizontally. This allows for the convection and radiant heat to work effectively as well as the tip over switch. Thanks
I find thecweekly timer over complex to use. I want to set it to come on at 12mn and go of 4am every night. Any ideas please

Can you place a Nobo panel in front of a power outlet?
Hi, we have installed our Nobo’s on the wall, the power point is located 10 cm under the unit without issue, hope this helps
Hi John, Thank you for you question, as per the installation manual the heater must not be located immediately below or in front of a socket outlet. See attached and refer to the highlighted in yellow: File: https://cdn.productreview.com.au/document/thread-message/c15e844d-6d4c-52d8-ae30-8c0d2b7530e2 Thanks

My panel heater seems to turn on well before the set timer period, how do I correct this or simply have it turn on only for the set time period? Thanks
Hi George, Thank you for your question, It sounds like you have adaptive timers, they will turn on and off dependent on the set temperatures/time vs the ambient temperature/time. Please refer to the below: File: https://cdn.productreview.com.au/document/thread-message/b4a07155-db42-529f-bb1c-80c7b764a05b You-Tube video: external link Thanks
My panel heater seems to turn of well before my designated timer period. How to I correct this or simply allow the unit to turn on only for the nominated period? Thanks
Believe you me George. In all the past 3 years of owning the Nobo’s this is an impossible question!! It never seems to work. Or it does for a while then for reasons only Nobo can never explain it doesn’t. Simplest and best way we have done it is buy an automated timer from Bunnings and set your times on that and plug the Nobo in. They’re a bit bloody ugly but at least it comes on at 7am and goes off at 9am and comes on at 6pm etc etc
Haha I had thought of that originally but opted to by the more expensive option with the timer to help simplify things.. I'm currently just playing around with eco mode to try to prevent the adaptive start times kicking in

Hi Ruben, I have followed your instructions provided in the file. Although the heater still turns on with the adaptive start outside of the set times despite the moon mode being set to 'off mode'. Is there anything else I can do or is there a way to turn off the adaptive start? Thanks
Thanks George, the adaptive is programmed into the control and cannot be switched off.
Does the app tell you the actual room temp and if the heater is off/on. I can’t seem to see this. Thanks
Hi Daryl, If you navigate to the user guide section on the app itself this will have instructions on how to set/see room temp and how to see if the heater is on/off. The colour of the circles around the buttons can help determine whether the heater is on or off. If green, it means the heater is active in that particular area of the home and if red this will mean non active. Thanks
The timer makes no sense. Adaptive control is inadequate. I understand it has to do with room temperature but why complicate a simple concept that really is not useful. The heater would be a great product if the timer just turned on and off according to the time set. Please consider changing how it operates.
Hi Mary, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I will reach out to you directly to get some additional information. Thanks
Might be a sillly question, but how does my heater know that D1 is Monday? I have set it on a Friday, should I set D1 as Friday?
Hi Helen, Thank you for your question. Could you provide your model number? Thanks
I have programmed my heater to come on and off. I understand that due to adaptive control it comes on earlier than the time I have set it. My problem is that it is inconsistent when it turns off. If I set it to turn off st 10pm why does it not turn off at 10pm? Thanks

If I program it to turn off at 10pm why does it not turn off? Thanks
Thanks this may relate the the temperature at the time. Thanks.
What is the energy rating for the NOBO heaters? I am looking to install them into a rental property and it in going to be legislated next year in Victoria that heaters have to have a "Good" energy rating. So far I am unable to find out the information, but I suspect it is more about the way the heater is used as to how energy efficient it is.
Hi Michelle, while they are efficient in energy use they currently do not have ratings. Thanks
Where is the thermostat located on the heater, or how do I completely dim the display? I’ve been try to cover the display with eletrical tape to stop the glow lighting up my daughters blacked out room but I think it affects the thermostat and the temp fluctuates quite a lot.
Hi Bex, the thermostat controls are located on top of the unit. The light itself cannot be adjusted. Thanks
No where is the thermostat itself, not the controls.
Thank you Bex, please see below: File: https://cdn.productreview.com.au/document/thread-message/62f69c27-b80f-57c7-b5ac-419abda5989a
I bougth Nobo a month ago and the front air outlet turned yellow. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem. Thanks
Hi Foto, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I will reach out to you directly to get some additional information. Thanks
What is the length of the cord for this heater? Before buying, I need to make sure I can mount it on a wall without it sitting behind furniture. We only have two power points in the room and being solid brick it is not easy to add more power points. Thanks
Hi Alannah, Thank you for your question. It is approximately 1.2m. Thanks
How much is a heater to run for a 4.6x5 metre bedroom and what size heater is required
Hi Lisa, Thank you for your question. You are probably looking for a 1.5/2 KW in size, while the cost is low you would need to refer to your power bill to work out KW cost per running time. Thanks
How long should it take for the 2400w to heat a room of 24m2 (as suggested size on Nobo website). I have had it on for 1.5hrs set to max of 30 degrees and can only feel heat if I have my hands on it/over the vents.
Hi Harley, Thank you for your question. If you are referring to the model NTL4S24, it is suitable to a 24M2 room. The heating time itself would be dependent on the ambient temperature of the room as it starts to heat the cooled air. Thanks
