Noirot Spot Plus 7358-7 (2000W) Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: 7358-7Can you uninstall the casters from a Noiret Spot panel heater if you decide to mount it on a wall?
If the castors are already attached then you cant remove them without breaking them. However if you havent put castors on then you have no problem. They arent attached when you buy it.
Mine just slip on and then a small black bracket holds them in place. I think the castors can be easily removed.
Hi all of a sudden the increase temp button won't work, what can I do?
After being shut down for about 5 months my heater wont turn on the heater has been hard wired and has its own fuse .the timer is visible and even on manual it wont heat any suggestion the heater has been fine installed ten years ago.
Has anyone had this problem? All the dials have been turned to stand-by and effectively "off" on all dials but hot air is still churned out? We have to turn it off at the switch for the unit to completely turn off and cool down. Bought it from the Good Guys a week ago.
Hi Thi, could you please call us on (03) 9563 2778
Hi Our Noirot 2000W heater was working fine but it now seems like no power is getting to the heater.
the light does not come on when the heater is switched on.
We have checked the power point and it is fine. Any ideas?
Hi Jennifer, Please return your heater back to its place of purchase for testing and assessment where if deemed to be faulty and under terms of warranty replaced.
Hi were would I have my heater repaired/saftey checked? I live in Cheltenham Vic. Had extention cord attached to the heater and it caught on FIRE! As far as I know the heater is ok but turns itself off? This frightened me so want to get it checked. Gail Hyde
Hi Gail. I looked up Yellow Pages online and found this: Noirot Australia Pty Ltd Oakleigh VIC 3166 ph: (03) 9563 2778 Otherwise look up 'heating appliances service and repairs in Cheltenham' and you might find something. Hope this helps.
Cheers :-)
Hi Gail,
Please call us on 1300 664 768 and we will be able to assist. For future reference to avoid the risk of overheating we recommend NOT using a power board, extension lead or adapter and to always plug directly into a fixed socket outlet.
Can anyone tell me how much these cost to run? Some are saying they are very cheap and others very expensive. Confused!!
They definitely aren't cheap. No effective heater is I'm afraid. I would say about on par with our old oil heater. It seems to heat the room much faster, is completely silent & less hot to the touch unlike our old heater.
I used these all last winter and my power bill did not exceed NZ$300 per month. I had been paying up to $600 on gas central heating. So seemed pretty good to me.
Cheers,
Hi Claire, I am in Victoria where smart (dumb) meters are in place. My Noirot Spot plus is a 2400W model and has a timer. When I used it in a closed room (3.2mx4.6m), set at 21degrees on two half hour intervals, my bill increased by around $250 over 90days last winter. I would think the cost on that usage would be between $3-$4 per day. I have a 11fin oil heater Hellier and it heats up nicely and contemplating to get one of those. Not sure if it is going to be more cost effective. All the best.
I copied and pasted the following directly from Noirot's page (under the heading "How Much Does It Cost To Run?" at external link "There are two major factors that impact your running costs. Firstly, the tariff charged by the electrical authority who supply electricity to the premises. Secondly and importantly is that the heater is sized correctly for the room it is to heat. (Please note that it is not possible to heat an entire house with just one heater).
Example 1 (1000w heater): Tariff charged = $0.30c. Per Kw/h * Multiply the tariff by every 1000 watts or 1kw (1kw x $0.30 = 30 cents per hour to run) When cycling the heater will give a 50% saving. (1kw x $0.30c = 30 cents per hour to run). Divide this by 2 to apply the 50% saving for cycling. (30 cents less 50% = 0.15cents per hour to run).
Example 2 (2400w heater): Tariff charged = $0.30c. Per Kw/h * Multiply the tariff by every 1000w (2.4kw x $0.30c = 72 cents per hour to run)
When cycling the heater will give a 50% saving (2.4kw x $0.30 = 72 cents per hour to run). Divide this by 2 to apply the 50% saving for cycling. (72 cents less 50% = 36 cents per hour to run)
* Please note that tariff used in this example is approximate only; please refer to your current Electricity bill or contact your Electricity Supplier for accurate tariff charges."
(presumably, where they mention about 'the heater is sized correctly for the room' they also mean 'with windows and doors closed', I would think.)
p.s. There is also some good information here external link ... including about how the proper use of the THERMOSTAT AFFECTS the efficiency and hence COST of running the heater. (And it also has other information, including about how the life time warranty works.)
