My heater’s plug gets really hot , does anyone has same problem?
Yes, mine does too . I'm getting it checked out. I did have it plugged into an extension cord and you could see that it went black inside the connector
Hi all, I am trying to find out the Energy star rating of this model heater (Noirot Spot Plus electronic thermostat, model: 7358 - 8F) If anyone knows please let me know, much appreciated.
Hi, we have had the Noirot 2000 and 2400w and they are a top heater made in France. As you know they are intended for plug in to a power point. The energy rating depends really upon the state/territory you live in and the tariff you pay. The 2400w has heated an entire living and kitchen area (with doors closed) in a Tas. winter getting down to 0C overnight where we live. They are brilliant but there is no such thing as “cheap”electricity unless you have solar. It is peak Tariff for us after 6pm. Last winter on the odd occasion we used it, we set it at 22C and with a thermostat occasionally turning it off, it cost 21 cents an hour between 6pm and 12MN. We have a brand new heat pump and it costs a fraction less. But the heat from the Noirot despite no fan is much more cosy and agreeable than the heat blasted at you from air conditioning. Admittedly the Noirot takes awhile to start heating a large area. You have the larger 2400w so it depends on your tariff during the period of use, the temp. set at, whether it is the model with a thermostat, and how many hours of average use per week. Our power comes exclusively from Hydro dams and it has been reasonably priced in the past. Not anymore despite exporting excess electricity via sea cable to Vic. In particular.
can I buy a new cord as the plug has melted for a Noirot heater
Can you hardwire Noirot heaters into the bathroom?
Hi What would it cost to replace the thermostat in a Noirot 7358-8 (2400W)? Thanks Martin
I live in a terrace with high ceilings. Is this heater effective as I have read it’s not good when it comes to high ceilings.
No.. I have the 2400 and high ceilings it’s bloody useless.. I was just in here looking to see if there are any known issues..
Thanks for that. I haven’t used mine yet. I’ll let you know how I go.
Can you uninstall the casters from a Noiret Spot panel heater so you can mount it on the wall.
Yes, the attached easily. So i imagine they come off just as easy. The Castors make it easier to move from room to room.
What temperature setting warms up the whole room? This is my first time using it and 20.5 is not warming up the room.....Just tried it on 23 and it is working a charm.
I have a area in a small computer room 4meter and set it comfortable at 16 which takes the chill away
Thank you for your reply.
Why is the plug getting hot. Plugged directly into the wall. I changed wall outlets to do a test. The cord gets hot on both wall OutLets. Is this normal
I contacted Noirot they said it was OK not dangerous
Hi, I accidentally placed the castors in the wrong position on the base of the heater - about 8 cm from base edge, not the recommended 5 cm. Is this a problem? Do I need to remove and replace them?
Hi Jett I am not a retailer, so maybe ring a retail to see what they say. good luck. Joy
Yes, you will have to break the black clips and order new ones.
Hi, the casing of our heater gets very hot. Is this normal for these heaters? Thankyou
Ive got the 1000w heater and the top gets hot. The front and the back only get warm not hot.
Thankyou. Mine gets very very warm, wouldn't burn anyone just probably give someone abit of a shock. Will keep my eye on it. Thanks again.
I've noticed lately after turning off our heater 7358-8 and unplugging it. The plug itself is Hot! So much so I couldn't even hold the plug itself. The cord was warm and gradually got warmer the closer to the plug.
Its plugged directly into the wall with no extension cords etc. Not left on for long periods of time. 2 hours at a time I would say. I've tried different sockets and all get hot.
Is this normal as we have lost trust in the product due to fear of a possible fire...
No thats not normal take it back! I have one and ive never noticed the plug or lead to be hot when unplugging it.
Hi, we have it set on 15 degrees for over night and have noticed it makes a low pitched buzz for about 10 seconds every 90 seconds ( Aprox). Is this normal? The heater is about 5 weeks old, bought from Harvey Norman NZ
The panel frequently indicates 2.1. What does this mean?
Hi Jeff, please call us on (03) 9563 2778 and well be able to help
The plug is heating up to about 40C after an hour or so. I have tried different wall sockets with the same result. Is this considered normal? Jean
Hi Jean, your heater is a highly powered heating device and the plug on your appliance may get warm during use, this is perfectly normal. We would recommend your wall sockets are in good condition and the plug is inserted correctly to avoid accidental overheating. Please check the plug and the socket regularly if the heater is being used for prolonged periods. If you have any doubt please consult an electrician or contact us directly on sales@noirot.com.au
Hi, We have purchased the Noirion 2400 Spot plus convection panel heater and I was wondering whether firstly can it be plugged straight into a powerboard and can how high can it be mounted on a wall. We were hoping the heat would flow onto the kitchen area. Model DM7358.8.TFDEX, Thanks Melinda.
Hi. I don't know if this is helpful but I have just purchased a second 2400 as the first has been so good. I plug mine straight into a powerboard. It heats a big area and the heat moves into adjoining rooms.
I have recently had one of these installed at home, hardwired in by an electrician, wall mounted, plugged directly into an adjacent power socket. As it’s not 3.5k/w I’m getting charged at the higher rate. If it’s turned off at the power point and never used, can it use power at all? Seems a daft question but my usage seems to be going up and I’ve deliberately not used the heater to test for this.
Cheers
Andrew
Hi, If the heater is turned off at the power point no power should be being used. We would recommend speaking with your electrician.
How do I know if my Noirot heater is power cycled?
Hi Gary, you can tell if your heater is on or off by the timer turning on. Or if you have a non-timer model the red light coming on.
If you have any further questions please call us on (03) 9563 2778
I have a new heater. I want to set the timer for one heating session only. I can set the first session, for every day of the week, to warm a room before we get up. I cannot delete the second session. Thankfully the third session isn't set. Help?
Hi Ton,
Head to external link we have created a simple how-to video on how to edit your timer.
Alternately you can call us on (03) 9563 2778
Thanks Noirot
