Have recently purchased NR-CY55CGKAU model and it only has three temperature settings for each of fridge, freezer and prime fresh: Min bottom light on, medium bottom two lights on and max all three lights on. The manual shows 9 settings with blinking and on/off light sequence. How is this achieved?
Hi, We have a newEconavi Panasonic fridge 4 weeks old. We woke up this morning and for the second time the top shelf is warm. It happened a few weeks ago I reset it and disgarded the fridges food. Christine

Hi, I have called the customer service team this morning and my details were forward to have a service staff come to look at my fridge. It's late afternoon and I'm still waiting for someone to call back to arrange a time.
Hi Christine, someone will contact you within 24 hours of the booking.
have new panasonic black glass model nr-cy55cgkau fridge. is there any way to change the prime fresh compartment so it doesn't freeze and becomes same temperature as fridge.?
Hi Frank, apologies but this isn't a setting you can change yourself.
Is the primefresh plus led under the max med min illuminated? I had same problem until I put that on u press primefresh under the fridge button until the prime fresh alights under the max medium and minimum. Then I pressed on fridge where it shows its on medium and freezer thats on medium too then when u press on primefresh u find it has set itself to minimum. I put it on fridge again its on medium with the prime fresh 3 dots on
I bought my Panasonic Eco-Navi fridge about a year ago. It is wonderfully quiet and I love all the compartments. especially the freezer is very efficient. But there is one big problem... The temperature in the main compartment does not get very cold. On the door, near the top it is 68 degrees F. Near the back, where the cold air comes out, it is normally around 42-46 degrees. (I have a very accurate laser thermometer so I am confident of the temperature.) Also, produce and cream is going bad a few days earlier than I am used to with other fridges. Does anybody else have this problem?
Hi James, here is some information you may find helpful on fridge temperature. If yours is running higher than this please contact our customer service team on 132600 for further assistance. external link
Thanks for the information. I find that my fridge is doing pretty well in the chiller and freezer but the top part has a low of 5 C, right next to the cold air outlet. The top shelf is about 15 C and the top of the door is 23 C. Since the freezer is doing so well I'm wondering if there is a fan that should be recirculating the cold air which is broken or malfunctioning. Do you know about that?
Hi James, it does sound like a replacement part maybe needed to ensure the cold air circulates around the whole fridge. Please call us on 132600 and we will arrange a service booking for you.
Thanks for the response. I need to confess at this point that I am in Costa Rica. The service people here are hopeless and basically told me that they couldn't do anything. So, even though there is nothing you can do, I feel good to know that there are some people in the world who could help (if they were in the same country!)
Hi James, thanks for letting us know and sorry we are unable to assist you further given your location. Hopefully you have some success in a repairer fixing the fridge for you soon.
Hello, It's been a while and I cannot locate a competent repairman. When I go to the Panasonic website, the closest authorized repair facility is in Panama! So here is my proposal - I am willing to pay you for a consultation or series of consultations where together we can troubleshoot the problem (I have some basic familiarity with the principles of how things work.) Hopefully, we could pinpoint the problem to the point that the local idiots who masquerade as Panansonic repairman would be able to fix the problem. Or perhaps I could do it. I'm not afraid to open things up and poke around. What do you think?
Hi James, sorry but we would never recommend you repair your fridge yourself.
HI James I have had my fridge/freezer for over a year now and realised quite early on that the fridge temperature needs to be at it's coldest and yes you are right some products do not last as long. This is the only problem I have with this fridge
The green econavi light won’t turn off and unable to turn off the blue quick freezer light. The setting inside the fridge is set at MED. Everything in the veggie drawer, the chilled drawer and the lower bottle shelf are frozen. Should I turn the fridge off and on again or is there a reset button? Pam
Hi Pam, please contact our customer service team on 132600 for further assistance.
does the fridge run on gas
doesthe fridge run on gas
Hi Joan, the fridge does have a compressor, which does require gas to run.
I’ve reviewed the manual and I’m unable to find any guidance there or elsewhere online for this problem. I had by unit delivered a week ago, and while the refrigerator cooled quickly, the freezer has so far not managed to get to working temperature. The compressor seems to be operating most of the time. What can you suggest?
What is the depth and length of the internal fridge shelves?
Please advise why the green light comes on from time to time?
Many thanks Toni
Hi toni From the manual: ECONAVI mode: The refrigerator learns the lifestyle patterns of your family from door opening and time periods of infrequent use to maximise energy effi ciency. Notices
● The refrigerator learns your lifestyle patterns from the previous
3 weeks of use and uses that data from the 4th week onwards.
Therefore the ECONAVI lamp “ON/OFF” pattern may change
from the 4th week onwards.
● The refrigerator performs the ECONAVI energy saving operation
when it becomes dark*2
around the refrigerator such as
overnight when you are asleep.
● The brightness of the ECONAVI lamp is lowered approximately
5 minutes after it is lit.
The refrigerator detects the opening and closing of the refrigerator door and the brightness
Hope this helps
We sometimes think that we have pushed one of the doors shut only to find some time later that it is still partially open. We also find the fridge very noisy at times, almost a rattle. One door is lower than the other. The major problem is that something fell off the top shelf and split the plastic on the bottom of the fridge. Is it possible to invisibly repair this? I know that this isn’t a design problem but we were surprised that the lining is thin enough for this to have happened. We have had many fridges and many things have fallen over the years without causing such damage. I must say that all that there are lots of features that I like about this fridge.
Hi It can make some weird noises at times but our prevvious fridge did the same thing. I also noticed that you have to properly shut the door. They dont just fall back like a single door fridge,i have heard its the same for all the french door fridges though.
If the door wont shut properly its either You hadn’t give a good push. Monno is right it wont goes back like the ordinary fridge. The french door has a tendency to stay open considering the shelf on the inside and the size of the door. If its not close, you should hear an audible sound or alarm to warn you.
Bottom plastic in the fridge I agree its way too thin but you can call Panasonic Australia or the retailer where you purchased it should be covered by a standard warranty.
The door arent aligning? I had an initial encounter on that as well, it is in the manual that if its nit aligned you have to somewhat adjust the knob/wheel on the foot of the fridge. Im pretty sure I did the same and now its perfect. It was off a little bit of 1-2mm.
For the noise, I dont encounter any rattle at all. My previous fridge was more noisy considering it was smaller and it is a 2015 model. This fridge is just quiet if its not busy. If it has been opened frequently they tend to make sound esp. when trying to meet the fridge temp. Try put all the settings in minimum level or avoid quick freezing.
Why are there no reviews of this Panasonic refridgerator- not even in any Choice reviews up to June 2016, Most other Panasonic models and models of other brands are reviewed. Is this an old or new model?
It's a relatively new fridge from Panesonic, I've just purchased one, review on its way!
stp.27, thank you for your comprehensive review . I'm awaiting your update. Mainly I want to know about the noise issue. my Westinghouse side by side fridge died yesterday and I came across this pretty Panasonic fridge. however I want to make sure it's not unusually noisy as especially my husband is sound sensitive. I would really appreciate your feedback, kindly asap. i need to desperately buy a fridge really soon, tmrw maybe. thnx
