Why did you discontinue this model?? I need a new iron and this has to be the best one I ever used... am so disappointed you went down the supposed smart iron route everyone is on.... they are totally useless and not worth the $$$ I am a seamstress and require a steam iron that does what I tell it to... i want to press, steam and iron when I need to in my course of work not be dictated by the iron what it wants to do or not when I need something else... heres not holding my breath you might consider bringing it back but hoping you will....

Thank you but I have been looking for ages and none of you other options give me what I want or require... nothing else in your range can compare to this model! have since found another brand that is similar if somewhat smaller water tank and will see how that goes for me... hopefully it will perform as well as this or you might take on board designing or remaking this version again for all the serious seamstresses out there???? I would certainly repurchase if available

Hi there, I just purchased a Philips GC7710 and started using it tonight. It's easy to use and heats up really quickly. However, there is a constant pumping sound when I press the steam button. The tank is full and there is enough steam being produced, but I find the sound very annoying. Is it normal?

Hey Christiane, As long as you'll keep pressing, new water will be converted to steam, so new water has to be pumped into the iron. We would expect the behavior you describe to be normal.
