I have had the pope line trimmer for 12 years now. Starting problems avoided by cleaning plug after each use and replacing spark plug every 12 to 18 months. Have had to reset the gap once only due to my boo boo. Solve the spitting line by replacing the head spool - this is available from bunnings as a special order.
Hello,
I have a pope line trimmer that the head is broken and the line keeps comming out when under power, it is 25.4cc 2 stroke, model number 101plt25d, I am trying to purchase a new head but not having any luck finding one, could you advise where I can purchase a new head or can a spool feed head fit my trimmer
Regards
Did you have any luck, I need one also
Have the same machine. I recently ordered a new head from Bunnings for about $14. Came in 4 days later. To stop the line spitting out double knot the line.
Anyone know how old this 25.4cc pope trimmer is? Thanks!
Bought new 12 years ago and still going strong.
Hi,
Thanks very much for your answer..I picked one up and it started 1st pull..great!
I inherited one from my mum. Very little use and in very good condition. It had one problem - it would sometimes jam. Couldn't pull the starting cord. Once I got it, I left it for about a year before trying to start it. Wouldn't start at all. I put a little fuel directly into the spark plug hole and pulled the rope. It ran ok for a few seconds. Then it jammed. I dismantled it and found a cover screw missing. It was inside the magneto/clutch housing. Hence the jamming. Put it all together, adjusted mixture and throttle settings, now it runs perfectly. Time to sell it. I have a great whipper snipper that I have had for over 35 years with no problems. It's 240Volt electric. Wouldn't be bothered with a petrol one.
