I have a Ragdoll cross male cat aged about 10 years. He's never been a fussy cat and has always been a crazy cool dude who ran around like Kramer on Friends. His sister is a full fuss pot and will only eat a certain variety of food which excluded Purr. From time to time, I bought the Seafood selection and he ate it quite happily. 1 year ago, he ended up at the vet with an unknown sudden refusal to eat and weight loss. Vet treated with anti nausea and pain relief medication and he was fine after a couple of days. At that time it had not occurred to me about the Purr. A few months down the track, I bought another Purr selection when cat food was becoming harder to buy. He had another episode of sudden refusal to eat and weight loss and fatigue. I wondered if it was the food - but wasn't sure which one as I buy several different brands. Stripped back all brands to match the fussy girl (Fancy Feast and Purina One) and he came good again. Introduced different brands and human grade tuna and salmon into his diet. No problem. Last week introduced Purr back into the menu and a few days (after about 3 cans of Purr) - he suddenly started vomiting, is clearly in pain and has rapid weight loss. I threw the rest of the multi pack in the bin!! If this cat food is making cats sick and worse, killing them, it should be REMOVED FROM THE MARKET. I for one, WILL be writing to Coles and making them well aware that if they don't remove it or at least place warnings on the brand, then they will lose a lot of customers and worse. They will be sued. Pet food is a huge percentage of their profits and like everything, it will hurt their pockets as much as it does ours.

I have a Ragdoll and Birman. They like this food and have been on it for years. Some tolerate, some don't, but I am concerned about the increase in cancer in cats and if the suspected white plastic coating, Polyethylene, is a cause?

My Frank died last week of renal cancer. He was remarkable and I am absolutely broken hearted. I had not fed him this rubbish for some time but suspect the quality of most commercial cat food is a huge contributor to cancer in our cats.

Why does Coles have to rip off customers by selling this rubbish which is misleadingly advertised as good quality healthy cat food?. Don't they make enough money from their supermarkets?. Why are they making loyal customers cats sick deliberately.? They know this slop they sell as "cat food" is making cats sick all they need to do is look at the ratings or don't they bother?. Shame on you Coles. It makes you wonder what is in all their food products clearly lying and false advertising does not bother them. Care to comment Coles?

I'm now wondering what exactly they put in this cat food. Looking for alternative now and I have bought this for 10 years.

The label description is different, the food looks different and my cat wouldn’t eat the new gravy food and I ended up throwing them out each day. I’ve now swapped to the Aldi seafood gravy varieties and the cat is eating it and I’m saving 30 cents per can. I should have done this years ago.

Purr is the most disgusting looking slop the vegetable content of the chicken pouch was one pea and a minute slither of carrot the chicken looked like wood shavings even though it was in a watery slop it was dry. Coles should be sued for selling this rubbish which made my cats sick and they only had a few licks of the "gravy" which was white and stunk. Do not buy this rubbish if you love your cats it will make them sick.

Why compromise quality? The new product is disgusting. It actually stinks and is a watery mess! And why cheat us by reducing the quantity per sachet and the number of sachets? 11 in my box. Same price. The new Purr sachets make my cat ill and he actually hisses at the food. I threw it out for the magpies and they wouldn't touch it either. You might think you can fool us humans, but cats know! Bring back the old product or lose my custom too. I am disgusted with you, Coles! I thought you were above this sort of trickery. This is the kind of behaviour we see happening with products made in China. They start off well and slowly deteriorate until there is no quality and very little quantity ... but this product is not Chinese. Fix it, PLEASE.

Why do you package your tins together with so much plastic?
