Ramesses Fitted Electric Blanket Questions & Answers
I try to wash my Ramesses electric blanket (took off the woollen overlay) in the washing machine. But the washing machine didn't like it. It is only half washed. Should i just buy a new electric blanket?
One side of my blanket does not work anymore Can it be fixed somehow or where can I buy a new control switch
Do you put the electric blanket underneath or on top of a mattress topper please ?
Have purchased a Ramesses Fitted Electric Blanket but from the get 'Go' one of the controls didn't actually turn on/work at all. But I've lost my Receipt for proof of Purchase. So I have to ask - Can you buy the Individual Controls bye themselves at all ????

Hi John, From memory only the brief instructions on the box itself which were somewhat inadequate.
No. Only instructions are on the box. It’s not hard to work an electric blanket till you get this one. Has a mind of its own I think. Good luck if you do. I’m dissatisfied with it .
I just bought the king size , i keep setting the timer for 8 hours and within 1 hour it has turned off , no instructions came in the box , what am i doing wrong ? My son brought the queen size in this brand and it did the same to him so he throw it out .
Hi Tammy, try this as it works for me, but not happy that the electric blanket doesn't reach your feet. Switch the blanket on and the light should come on showing H for hot. Don't touch this switch again. Go to the right side of controller and press the right side button and timer light comes up. Press button to get required hours. Don't touch any switches again. Leave lights on and will go off automatically after a short period but power will stay on. If that doesn't work must be faulty.
These are really good instructions. Shame manufacturer was too dumb to help their customers. Nevertheless good value on first use. Hope it continues.
Can you wash this electric blanket please?
I wouldn't imagine, because electrical wiring doesn't like being creased or bent to extremes as a washing machine would do to it. If you read the instructions carefully you may find the answer. Airing it in the sun for a day would help deodorise the fabric.

Who knows? This blanket should never have been approved for sale in Australia. I suggest that everyone should notify the ACCC about this problem and ask them to have it withdrawn from sale until a controller is fitted that allows you to turn it OFF and ON!
Cannot work out the controls on this blanket. If I set the heat for 6 and the time for 1 does this mean the unit will be on fo one hour? When the setting is made the light on the control goes off afte about 10 seconds. Is this normal? How do you know whether the blanket is on if the light is off. Very confused.
Yes it was confusing to me at first without instructions supplied. If I set the heat for 6 and the time for 1 does this mean the unit will be on for one hour? That's correct. Yes its normal for the light to go off after about 10 seconds, but it will remain on. If you want to switch it off press so H comes up, then press again. That switches it off.
Yes also good description. Turn on with one click off on/off switch, then two clicks to turn off. I know - very poor design!

Does L = Long for all night as well as Low temperature? And does H = High for what temperature you want? For example: can I set my blanket on H say for a temperature of 1 ? So use to the 3 level switch which is low, medium, or high.

How do I turn the blanket off ?
It is difficult to tell whether the blanket is on or off - as the button in the centre of the control is used for both - with the light going on when pressing for both 'on or off' - very confusing. We have the queen size smart fully fitted electric blanket.
I had the same problem, so I added a power board that is switchable and I switch the blanket on and off using it. You will have to push the centre button again after switching back on.
after washing and fully dry, fitted back on the bed, both controllers display the letter "P" what is wrong and how do I fix it

Hi I bought two Ramesses Washable Woollen Underlay Electric Blankets QB from Harris Scarfe and have been very happy with them indeed but one of the controllers has stopped working - it's the part that plugs in with the on/off and temperature and time switch. I've tested one of the other side controllers in the same 'plug in section' of the blanket and it works fine so it's definitely the controller and not the elements in the blanket at fault. Can you let me know if I can purchase one controller separately? I can't seem to find them online. Many thanks, Susan
Hi Susan, I had the same problem. I contacted a company called kingtex ( kingtex.com.au) sorry I don't have their number. I believe they are the importers . They were very helpful and sent me a new controller. When contacting them make sure you have all the details of the blanket on hand ie model, make and any other details. Hope this helps.
I have a motorised bed with zero gravity . Would it be safe to use the zero gravity with the electric blanket on the bed.? Would it damage the wires?
