How far can the robot go from the docking station without getting lost. We have a new build house over 400m2 and want to have the docking station sitting somewhere tidy

Well we have a 450m2 house and it is sitting neatly between some plants in our living area (not an eye sore) which is almost central to our house and it hasn’t had a problem. If I could attach a photo I would but to get to our ensuite bathroom it has to go through the lounge, pool room, to our bedroom which is then behind the kitchen and through to the ensuite so it seems like it is a long way from the dock and through a lot of walls!

The Roborock Qrevo MaxV is proficient at navigating big homes, thanks to its LiDAR mapping. If your house is around 400–450m², you shouldn’t have any issues with it finding its way back to the dock, even if it’s placed in a tidy spot.

How Far Can It Roam? ✅ LiDAR Mapping – It creates a detailed map, so as long as the map’s good, it can handle long distances and multiple rooms. ✅ Handles Obstacles Well – It can move through doors, hallways, and open spaces without losing track of where it is. ✅ Big Battery – With a 5,200mAh battery, it can cover up to 300m² per charge. If it runs low, it’ll go back, recharge, and pick up where it left off. ✅ Multi-Storey Homes – It can remember different floors but needs to be manually carried upstairs.

Best Spot for the Dock Somewhere central so it can get to all areas easily.

Leave about 1m of space on each side so it doesn’t struggle getting in and out.

Avoid sticking it near stairs, tight spots, or reflective surfaces that could mess with its sensors.

Real-World Experience A Roborock owner with a 450m² home said they’ve got the dock neatly tucked between some plants in the living area (not an eyesore). Their Qrevo MaxV manages to get all the way to their ensuite, travelling through the lounge, pool room, bedroom, and kitchen—no dramas.

Bottom Line If you’ve set up the map properly and the dock’s in a good spot, it should cover your whole house without an issue. Want any tips on mapping or tweaking the settings?
