Hi Janette. If you're referring to the cable which engages the drive, I don't think you can as the cable is a fixed length. However, it appears the drive problem with mine was the tensioner spring which I presume keeps tension on the drive belt. The dealer eventually replaced it on mine and it's been working fine since. Hope that helps.

Hi thanks for your reply. I have replaced it a couple of times as the little wood nuts off the trees derailed the belt and i lost the spring. I have decided to replace the belt as the original one may have stretched. A lot of other SP mower brands have an adjustment screw.

Sorry but I dont use the catcher. Perhaps they have given you the wrong catcher for your model ???

Lucky it is still going. Mine is 32 months old and the drive has failed. Dealer sates it is dirt in the system and NOT covered by warranty. The 5 yr warranty is only on their terms. No Fix. No I have not found a way to increase the speed other than the engine revs. Perhaps your drive system is also suffering from being clogged up. I would get it checked by a dealer before you end up in my position. Lots of expense for a near new mower that has always been kept in top condition. Let me know how you go. DJS

Our 1600sqm block has trees and some difficult slopes to mow but generally a No.4 cut takes about 2.0 - 2.5hrs.....varies on how energetic I am....:-))

Thanks Robert. I have a smaller 600sqm block. I really wanted to go a bigger unit / 21' and was considering the ProCut 750 priced about $270 more. The price wasn't really a factor as I don't want to be spending all day mowing lawns etc. That unit also has a blade stop, so the engine can keep running whereas this 850SP you have to re-start each time you have to empty the mulch bag. The Procut is a heavy unit. Guessing 60kgs? But I bought the 850SP & will put up a review in due course. I hope I won't regret that. Time will tell! Cheers!

Price was $630 all fuelled up and ready to mow....

The mower is Self propelled at a moderate walking pace...somewhere around 4.5km/h flat out....never too fast or feeling like it is getting away from you!

Easy to adjust the speed with the handle lever - fingertips control.

159cc Rover OHV 800 engine with a 5 year engine warranty......850 is 8.5nM of torque apparently.

Seems to be pretty powerful as it cuts long grass easily
