I have one of these machines and it has been great. I have found myself without the tamper after a move - what size tamper is supposed to go with this machine? I am in New Zealand.

zurizuri
zurizuri

I’ve now parted with mine (loved the machine and still miss it) but think the tamper is a standard size. You can always measure with a ruler before ordering a new one.

Saeco
Saeco   DM

Hi, thanks for leaving your question. A tamper is not included with the coffee machine, but you can get in touch with our Care representatives to find the right sized tamper for your Saeco Via Venezia. You can reach them at 1-800-933-7876, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST (Excluding Major Holidays)

We look forward to hearing from you.

With my Saeco Via Venezia coffee machine the coffee stream into the cup isn't very strong and sometimes it just drip fills the cup.

Have you descaled the machine? If you haven’t that could work and also soaking the portafilter in warm water and vinegar. Good luck

Helen

Yes, I would agree with descaling, also make sure the grind size is right

Saeco
Saeco   DM

Hi there, Christine. Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that your Saeco coffee machine has been performing as it should, and we'd like to help out. Similar to the answers above, we'd recommend descaling the device, as not doing so can lead to a variety of issues, such as weaker steam production. As for the device dripping, several solution can be tried. You could check whether a different grind size could help out, as well as cleaning the filter, reducing the amount of coffee in the filter holder or, if the coffee is pressed in the filter holder, giving a ground coffee a good shake. We hope this helps, but you can always reach out if there are any further questions. You can do so via Facebook and/or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can contact our support team by phone on: 1300 363 391.

Kind regards, The Philips Australia Team

With the help of several "how to repair" movies on you tube and spare parts I succeeded in repairing my coffee machine myself. Something the service centre of Philips didn't do. So enjoy again my Saeco made espresso

The button I press to brew the coffee has lost its ability to stay pressed in. I have to hold it in to make coffee. It’s like a spring has gone. Other than it becoming noisier the older it gets, its been great. Any solutions?

My Via Venezia machine is 13 years old and the first problem I had was a year ago when the steam wand started gushing water and there was no crema produced. I had it serviced and it went really well for a few months. But now there is no crema again. The steam wand is fine, though. How do I get the crema back? Janet

Saeco
Saeco   DM

Hi Janet, thank you for your question. It's super to hear you've been using your Via Venezia for 13 years already! But definitely a pity that there have been some reoccurring issues. We find it hard to put the finger on the cause of the issue, without having seen the machine itself. Therefore, we recommend reaching out to us by phone to discuss it more in-depth and possibly book another repair. In the meantime, we'd like to point out that a good cleaning session of the machine, especially descaling, can work wonders. You can reach us at 1300 363 391. Thanks in advance, we hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Water is hot, runs thru but won’t run thru portafilter. I have cleaned and descaled the machine but no luck. Any ideas?

Fernyglen
Fernyglen

Good Morning Let me just say firstly that I am not a technician so all that I know about the unit has been learned through experience. It does sound as if there is an internal problem in the Porta-filter - it has a small internal spring which opens the "valve" to allow water through the coffee grounds once pressure is applied.

If you haven't already done so, search the web (I use Google) for videos showing repairs to your machine's Porta-filter, and, if you feel adventurous you may be able to attempt your own repairs. All of the parts are available on-line (again a simple Google search) including exploded views of your machine and it's components. You can also purchase a new Porta-filter, which is considerably lighter than the one supplied with the new machine. (But costs heavier, around $100).

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks for the update. I have 2 identical pressurized 53mm porta filters and both stopped working. So I cut one ring off the spring from one portafilter and now it works fine. Not sure why they both wouldn't work. Machine is 2 years old and we make 2 lattes a day for almost 4 years. I do clean the machine daily, use spring water and descale once a quarter...I bought a new delonghi just in case...need to have latte daily.

Hi, I have had a Via Venezia for few years and am very happy with it. Can anyone tell me what material the standard porta filter is made of in particular the cups that are in contact with the coffee? I'm trying to avoid aluminium.

Thanks,

Kerry

Saeco
Saeco   DM

Hi there. Thanks for your question. Not sure if this answers it, but the material used on the Via Venezia machine itself is stainless steel. For more information, please have a look at the brochure: external link . If this doesn't provide you with the answers you're looking for, we encourage you to get in contact with our specialists. You can contact them on: 1300 363 391 (AU) or 0800 658 224 (NZ).

Hi, my Via Venezia is leaking from the end of the steam wand. It starts as soon as the machine is turned on and increases when the pump is started. Any help?

Fernyglen
Fernyglen

Hello CW9 - thank you for your interest. The problem you have described is the one which prompted my original comments on the Product Review site. The Saeco response, by phone and unfortunately undocumented, was that they would extend my warranty and repair the problem at their cost. The machine was, at that time, just over three years old. The same problem was repaired by the local authorized Saeco repairer at Saeco's cost when the unit was about 18 months old.

After contacting Saeco (as requested by them) and being told that the problem would be repaired under extended warranty, I was given the runaround by Saeco to the extent that I decided, in the end, that Saeco were not going to honour their arrangements and to have the unit repaired at my own cost ($85).

I believe that a machine that is less than 4 years old should not have undergone the same repairs twice and that Saeco should take responsibility for the repairs under the current Australian warranty legislation. I expect that the problem will recur in the next twelve to eighteen months and I will decide then whether to repair the unit again or to acquire another machine - obviously not Saeco.

Wish I could be more helpful but I would suggest that you take your unit to your local authorized Saeco repairer for repair and save yourself the trouble I had in attempting to have Saeco back their machine up.

Regards

Fernyglen

I have inherited a Via Venezia Type SIN 006XN, made 3/2010, ser 9010SA10033377.

The steam from the wand works perfectly, but when press the Brew button, the water coming from the coffee filter with no Portafilter attached, just running into a cup, is only 130 degrees F. It is nowhere near boiling, as it is supposed to be.

What is the best way to resolve this problem?

Saeco

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch with us. When the coffee doesn't come out hot enough it often helps to descale the machine. If you feel that the temperature of your coffee is still too low, please feel free to contact our support team on 1300 363 391 if you are in Australia.

Hello Carmela,

The ViaVenezia only works with pre-ground coffee. For the best espresso quality, we would recommend a fine grind.

Enjoy! :)

I would like to know if I can leave the pressurized portafilter on the brew unit at all times when the machine is on and when not using?

Saeco
Saeco   DM

Hi Carmela, if you just made your coffee, wait a few seconds after dispensing. Then remove the filter holder and dispose of the used pod. Note for cleaning: keep the filter of the “Crema" filter holder clean by removing it from its seat and washing with drinking water. you can find out more about that in the manual on page 17: external link  If you want some personal advise, please call us on (AU) 1300 363 391 or (NZ) 0800 658 224. Thanks!
